Maxtrek MK700

Not impressed. Slippery in wet. Starting to deform – I've had these tyres on my 2wd ute since new and they are just over 4 years old (since manufacture). I'm not impressed with their wet handling, especially in the rear of a light ute, I mean its great when you want to drift but it can be scary at times when they decide they want to slide. I would have to say that the wear is impeccable though, I've done about 30k km and they're hardly showing signs of wear (which is probably why they slip and slide so well). Road noise I would rate as average, nothing noticeable. Lately I'm having to replace all 4x tyres though as they seem to be delaminating/deforming - as in, the contact surface of the tyre with the road is no longer flat, its bulging on the outer side. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing defect, or something that I have caused but in either case I'm keen to get rid of them and trying something else. They look the goods but I won't be buying again.

Excellent trailer tyre – After suffering a blowout with cheap tyres I bought a set of these maxtrek mk700's. More of a highway tread pattern, reminiscent of older styles but seem to ride well. They are light truck rated and have a decent sidewall for dirt tracks. Mine are 13 inch rims and go onto a nasty old box trailer. To be honest, the tyres are better than the trailer. I can't talk about road noise, wet/dry handling or braking...its a trailer after all, but so far I'm happy. Paid $120 each I think?
Purchased in for $120.

Good Light Truck Tyres – I bought these on the 9th of January 2018 for $113 each, nearly a month later I'm very happy with them, i own a Toyota Hilux 2wd 2016 model Light Truck, for some reason this model car came out with very odd size tyres that even the dealers didn't have in stock and would have to get in, so when i did look around for new tyres there wasn't much available in that size, each tyre shop i went to quoted around the $235 mark. I see nothing wrong with Maxtrek, they handle like any other quality tyre I've owned before but half the price, even in the wet i found them to be good, would i recommend them? Yes without hesitation. Update: 5th March 2018. My opinion of these tyres haven't changed, if anything i'm more impressed now than before, Wet or dry roads they handle very well. Update 6th August 2019. I have around 51,000 kms on these tyres now and i'm still very happy with them, looking at the tyres today, i think i have at least another 25 to 30,000 kms left on the tread. Update, 21st February 2020, I ended up getting 70,000 kms out of these tyres, although one pair I could have gotten another 5,000 kms out of them. Bought 4 new ones about 2 days ago. This time around they cost me $160 balanced and fitted. Still very happy with them.
