Michelin MPX 130 BC

Had this pressure washer for a couple of years now and it is pretty good. The pressure hose material is to hard to wind up on the coil thingy. Just wind some big coils in hand. Heaps easier. Will need replacement o rings for the hose connectors as they perish. Shame the manual doesn't give you the size. Show details
Have had the MPX 130 for years - great product – In reply to Roli: the extension is labelled B2. If yours is missing I’d contact your supplier. Show details
Chinese rubbish. NOT made in Italy – Very disappointed. Thought I was buying a quality product made in Italy. It’s clearly labeled made in PRC (China). Shame on you Sydney Tools for misleading ads. Don’t pay premium for Chinese rubbish. Show details
OMG, this is what I wanted – Used it on pavers around the house. These pavers hadn't been cleaned for at least 10 years. See the difference in the photo after the first section had dried. And the dirt from the first section was being sprayed away from and not towards the darker area. One of the attachments has warnings on it re strength. I can see why! I put it on trying to… Read more
get paint off a paver- it started peeling the actual paver! Luckily I tried it in a spot that didn't matter. Never had a presssure washer before. Very happy!
Awesome. Better that I expected – I bought this a year ago from Sydney Tools Brookvale after trying out a friends which I was pretty happy with and the price of around $350 was about in my budget range. Wasn’t sure about the brand as I’d never associated the brand name with anything but the Michelin tyre man. It has sat in the garage for the entire year before I decided it was… Read more
overdue to start the boring job of the large courtyard pavers and concrete driveway. From the outset it was awesome. Easy to set up and worked effortlessly to lift the dirt and moss which had built up over many years. In fact it became enjoyable just seeing the muck getting stripped away. Kind of like painting in reverse. It never faulted throughout the whole job which I have been working on for about 6 hours so far. Still lots to go. I wear ear muffs which reduce noise to a minimum. Cleaning is as easy as spraying the unit (at a distance). Any dirt that landed on the house was easily removed with the same tool again at a distance to avoid damage to timber. I would suggest changing the hose connector which is plastic for a brass fitting at I cracked it while tightening it too much to stop water spraying out. Once the brass fitting with a bit of plumbers tape was on it stopped the leak. I would highly recommend this unit for around the house use. P.S. Also came with car brush and deck washing brush.
Michelin Electric Pressure Washers - a longer term review – I have an earlier model similar to the MPX 130 BC, but perhaps a bit more powerful - 2100psi, perhaps? I bought it from Sydney Tools Kotara in 2016, I think, for around $500 and rate it as excellent. Mine came with the swirling Whirl-a-way and the extension pressure hose. We have a two-level brick (porous) paver patio at the back of the house -… Read more
around 20 by 4 metres each level. When we bought the house in 2015, the patio was heavily soiled. Nothing nasty, just neglect. I had the Michelin washer and whirl-a-way running for two days, almost continuously, with no problems. The pavers weren't flat, so there were bits missed by the whirl-a-way. I used the turbo head and the vario lance to get the missed bits.
I've used it to clean my car. It does a very good job. The 'foam' from the on-board detergent reservoir is more like soapy suds. But, you can get a good car clean.
I've also used it to clean the outside walls of the house (Colourbond) and the concrete driveway. It does the job.
I didn't use the machine for around a year and found that most of the lances and the whirl-a-way were blocked, probably by insect carcases. It was easy to take them apart and clear the blockages. Some of the plug in (bayonet) connections got a bit stiff, but soaking them in water and a bit of brute force did the trick.
My biggest worry has been spare parts and additional accessories. The connections are not compatible with Gurni, etc. I needed a new water input hose connection and got it from Italy https://www.bricoutensili.com/en/130-michelin-pressure-washers-parts. I was able to buy a foamer from an Australian supplier with an adaptor. I haven't yet tried to use the adaptor with parts from other pressure washer makers.
Summary: It's an excellent machine. If you want to expand it to use accessories that are not available from Sydney Tools, you may have to search the internet.
Excellent Pressure Washer – I didn't know this brand. I found it when I was researching various brands after the base level Karcher died (after on a few uses, which was very disappointing as Karcher is generally pretty good.) The excellent reviews made me check it out. Used the pressure washer today for the first time. FANTASTIC machine which did the job quickly and… Read more
efficiently. Really powerful. I am so glad I saw the reviews here. If you need a pressure washer for home use that is powerful (and well constructed - 5 year warranty!), I highly recommend this one.
Michelin MPX130 BC – Looking to replace my small GMC pressure washer, I did extensive research on pressure washers. Karcher K4 and K7 kept coming up, but then the service and reviews put me off. I also had a budget to work with, under $400.00 My main focus was to clean our concrete driveway. I initially thought a wide pressure cleaner would be essential for this… Read more
purpose. However, reading reviews are requirements to use these I needed high pressure which led me to considering a petrol unit. This meant chinese, no name brands to fit my budget. Also petrol meant extra weight, and extra noise. It was then that I found the Michelin brand. When I found it was made in Italy, with a 5 year warranty, it triggered my interest. I have previously had an Italian made chainsaw and whipper snipper that both impressed. The MPX130 from Sydney tools also came with extras. Especially the pressure cleaner. Impressed from opening the box, no flimsy plastic. Everything is solid. Including the packing.
The pressure washer cleaned our rough cast concrete in a breeze. No stripes, and effortless to use.
A surprise when I came to wash off the cleaned area. The adjustable nozzle gave a wide (approx 1 metre) sweep. Easy as...
I also loved that when releasing the trigger, the engine stops.
Okay, so a couple of things to watch out for. Firstly, because the wash hose is on a reel, it does need to be pulled out to get rid of kinks. The only other issue, I pulled the unit over, not watching what I was doing. This could have damaged the inlet connection that also holds the filter.
The only other missing feature, that you have to hold the trigger on, instead of being able to lock it on. A bit tough on the old arthritic hands, but after a bit of use I got used to this.
Don't make a decision until you have consider this unit. $349 from Sydney Tools, including deck cleaner, car wash and two additional heads, additional hose, plus drain cleaner with 5 year warranty.
Day one, I am really pleased I made this decision.
Excellent! – Update Dec 2022. See my review of Sydney Tools 'support' prior to purchasing any Michelin product. I bought this unit based on the Choice test. It is an excellent pressure washer and beyond expectations. It comes with all the extras including two different pressure heads, wand extension, whirl-a-way, extension hose in addition to the reel… Read more
mounted one, a washing brush, and a drain cleaner hose. Every part seems to be high standard. The base unit serves as a caddy for the commonly used parts. The hose is generous, and especially with the extension, but being 'wound' it can takes some patience to get it straight and use the full length. It took a few uses to learn how to do that.
The only fault I could make is the extension hose has a connection fitting that essentially precludes it being wound onto the reel, so it has to be hung to the side or removed. The clips holding the hose into the end of the fitting are like staples and require a small pry to pop them up to remove the hose.
It also has a 5-year warranty although many wear parts are excluded. It is not a Michelin product, it is a product made in Italy that is licensed as Michelin, but seems to uphold the high standard of the name. Sydney Tool is the exclusive seller in Australia.
