havn't tried anything comparable – This has been a hard tyre to get away from as a daily rider, despite its relatively high price tag it provides ample performance for both dry and wet weather while maintaining enough tread to run near on 20k km as long as you keep your air pressure correct.

Great Tyre – I was going to put another set of Metzler Roadtec Z8 on my R1200R but the Dealer suggested the Michelin Road 6 saying they were a great tyre and popular. Wow, first corner it was like on rails and steering itself and they feel really stable and handle well. I have not tested them in the wet but reports are they are excellent wet or dry. I got 15,000k's out of the Metzlers so time will tell on the Michelin but I would be happy to sacrifice a little tyre life to enjoy safer grip and staying upright.

The best tyres so far – The time had come to change the squared off Pirelli Angel GT 2 tyres on my RT 1200 and the inevitable question of what to fit faced me.I had found that the front tread pattern on the Pirellis on grooved concrete resulted in unsteadiness, so, after trawling the net for user comments on the Michellin Road 6's , plumbed for them. These tyres come in both regular and hard specification for heavier bikes and I was lucky to score as set of the latter as global supply issues have affected tyres in particular. What a difference in handling, absolutely steady lines both straight and in corners.They are a bit slower on the turn in and have a really rounded profile but do not show any hesitation on full lean.They are still new though run in and have only been used in dry hot conditions so far but I'm waiting to try them in the wet as their braking in the wet coupled with longevity have been very favourably commented on . This could have resulted from their unique dual compound formulation and carcass structure. A little pricey in comparison but a very good match for the RT 1200.
