Microsoft Wireless Mouse 5000 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI have just purchased a Microsoft Wireless keyboard 3050 with a companion wireless mouse 5000. The wheel on the mouse is spasmodic. It works on one direction better than the other. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Is this a fault with the model or this specific mouse, do you think?
I'm going to say it seems to be a model problem. I have had 2 sets of keyboard mouse (the second set was a warranty replacement of the first quite a while after first purchase so not same batch). The first was bad but i put it down to the loose rubber cover on the mouse wheel as was almost falling off then it fell off - hence warranty replacement. The second mouse the rubber cover is tight to the wheel but is still almost unusable for precisely the reason you mentioned, it only works intermittently (this does not appear to be related to the distance from receiver issue which it also has). I eventually gave up and added mine to the e-waste bin at the tip!
