I have two ... they are both terrible – The house we moved into had two of these overs . I have been cooking and catering for 35 years. These are the worst ovens I have used. I was cooking for a staff lunch and ran 80 minutes late because the over yep dropped to 155C. Each oven is as bad as the other, at least they they are utterly consistent between each other. It was comforting to realize that I did not get a bad one. Show details

Terrible after service – Trying contact after sales service for an urgent repair (the thing exploded on me). Clearly not a normal wear and tear. On hold for more than 1 hour. Not impressed. Customers are treating like dirt after the sale. Show details

nothing not to love – Now 8 years old and bakes like a trouper. The inner glass broke in one corner, not sure why and am currently waiting on a replacement to arrive. It hurt, $493. But, this oven is the real deal. The after sales service seems to have improved. Today I only waited 10 minutes on the phone to get service! In the past it has been at least 30 minutes plus. I love my Miele products. The Pyrolytic cleaning is brilliant.  Show details

It Just Couldn't Handle Cooking – I bought this one for a new build with the whole Miele package of oven/induction cooktop/dishwasher/microwave. Only the oven was disappointing. Had to turn the cakes around for baking even when following the Miele instructions and really disappointed when the oven was 'full' for a roast and a couple of dishes of veges, etc. had to bump the temp… Read more

up to get it to a decent temp so everything would cook. Am doing a renovation now and am buying AEG oven instead.

Just dosent cook, terrible – This is the worst oven I have had in nearly 40 yrs. of cooking. Cant even bake a potato, cook a grill or bake a roast. Temperature adjustment is dreadful. I have a house full of Miele which work, oven is a lemon. Service people just say do a cooking course. Really need a course to cook a potato!!!

Great Miele oven – We purchased a Miele oven over 12 months ago as part of our new kitchen renovation. Thought if we spent money on a good quality oven would be worth it. The oven itself is fantastic, but the cleaning is not. If left baked on is impossible to get off without scraping and scrubbing. Quick and efficient. Great fan forced oven. Only supplied with 1 oven tray. Show reply

Great oven – We bought the model without the Pyrolytic self-cleaning. I am really happy with cooking performance of the oven. The heating and cooking is very even within the oven space. There is no need for turning trays during cooking process. It comes with two trays and one oven rack. I kept my old oven racks from my previous 60cm oven and they fit the… Read more ·  1

miele. I recently baked meringues using all five racks at once. I was amazed at how evenly cooked the trays were. I didn't need to move the trays around during the cooking time and the top tray cooked identically to the bottom tray. There are enough fictions on this oven, I personally don't think you need anymore, unless you don't know how to cook and you want your oven to do it for you. Miele don't budge on price, but if you buy when they are changing model numbers, they sometimes reduce the price on the older model. They also will knock off $400 if you buy a floorstock model. This is what we did and were very happy with the savings. We've had our oven for almost 12months. Consistently cooks even, heats up very quickly, very efficient - have already noticed a drop in our electricity costs since we installed it. The perfect clean does not last. At first I was amazed at how easy to clean it was but after nearly 12 months it isn't as good.

Easy Clean - what a joke – I was talked into this oven because I was told it was easy clean. This is so far from the truth and I actually find it harder to keep clean they a cheap oven. To make matters worse I was told by Meile customer service that they had complaints about this model and that it is not really very easy to clean. I was told that I could buy special oven… Read more

cleaner and a scraper to clean the oven. This was not supposed to be the idea of the oven. It is the one appliance in my kitchen that I wish would just blow up so I could replace it without feeling bad about the money it cost me. I found that the service from Meile is below average and that they really did not care that the product was not as it was sold to me. I have told friends building new houses not to purchase Meile products because the after sales service is so bad.

Doesn't do what it is meant to do - Easy Clean - I don't think so - harder to clean than any other oven I have owned

This is good to know as I am about to replace all kitchen appliances and was seriously considering Miele.

Excellent – Oven follows on from a Fisher & Paykel (genuine NZ made not euro) and before that St George. Just trying to get best 600mm wall oven possible. That means for us, NEVER go wrong, lasts for many years, nothing erratic, easy to use, first class results. The Miele H5240B nearly gets there, doesn't have too many useless Marketing Dept. specified… Read more ·  2

features that no one needs or wants and hopefully will last. Currently 1 month old. We (the Cook and the Engineer) like it! Easy to use, easy to keep clean, excellent cooking results. Lamp is bright and interior well lit. Oven gives audio signal when up to temp. Can see actual temp. that the oven is at. Looks to be good substantial design, mostly well thought out. Battery backed clock holds time setting on power outage. Case cooling fan is nice and quiet. Push in latching function knob never worked from new so is left in out position - deafening silence about problem from Miele. Only one oven rack supplied, additional rack $170 + post so didn't buy it. Rack design is poor anyway so will make our own from stainless and will cost ~ $30 for material.

Excellent – I have the H 5240BP model. Stylish. Knobs for recede for a nice finish. Audible tone when oven reaches pre-heated temperature. Oven light is really bright, easily can see meal without opening door. Bonus telescopic racks make cooking a breeze. Pyrolytic is a bit of a gimic, it does clean but you still have to do the glass to a degree. We… Read more

also purchased the HUB5000xl which is a baking dish that uses the entire width of oven, it slides directly onto runners, fantastic for a large lasagne or baking a christmas ham/turkey.

Only comes with a baking sheet & one rack. Efficient, stylish, telescopic racks, audible tone when preheated expensive, pyrolytic doesn't clean as well as anticipated
