cleaning nightmare – this is impossible to clean paid around $5200 for an item that is completely impossible to clean despite trying all instructions given by miele. I am at a loss on how to clean this oven Show details

Poor UX – I have found the User Experience (UX) to be convoluted and confusing. In order to turn functions off, you have to backtrack through a series of steps that do not appear to be consistent. Response speed to touch is poor, you touch and nothing happens so you have to press for about a second for anything to happen. One of the most used functions on… Read more

any oven, apart from cooking, is to set a timer for doing something else, particularly duration, hr/min, no, you can only use Duration if actually cooking, otherwise all you get is a min/sec timer which is pretty annoying. The oven came with the apartment we bought. The manual is pretty useless as well, no help at all for anyone new to the product. Heating speed is very quick and I like the fact that there is no rotating tray for uwave which means that we can use square plates but that's the only thing I'd recommend about it.

From a UX perspective, give me Electrolux anytime.

It sparks and cleaning IMPOSSIBLE!! – It sparks when you use microwave function. Have spent few hundred already to get Miele technician to look. I am left with no choice but to get a new one. Not sure should I go for MW only or with combi oven. And yes very expensive for the quality and cleaning is a nightmare, IMPOSSIBLE!!  Show details

Fantastic product....... but there' a catch! Buyer beware if you break the tray Miele will not help you – Micro wattage is lower than expected, cleaning is not easy & If you break the glass tray its curtains for you. Miele should supply a better tray.I spent $45k & no sympathy Show details

Great appliance, nightmare to clean, glass trays are difficult (and break) and Miele is of ZERO assistance – Bought tens of thousands of Miele appliances. Speed oven (6800BM) is great, but it's also a nightmare. IMPOSSSIBLE to clean. And the glass trays are horrible. Break, and even more impossible to clean. And Miele is of zero assistance. It's like the people there have never seen or used their products. And finding replacement trays is the worst. Show details

Dangerous, internal parts sparking, unhelpful service – We bought our Miele H6800BM in 2014 and for the past 2 years we have had a problem with the element sparking and becoming red hot when using the microwave function. After an extremely expensive call out we were advised we need to tighten the nuts (pictured) to stop the problem. This worked sometimes initially, now doesn’t seem to help much at all. Show details

Impossible to keep clean! – Spent $25,000 on Miele appliances for our new build. We thought Miele appliances would be a no-brainer given our experience in our former house with the best dishwasher ever. Incredibly disappointed with this oven, cleaning it is a nightmare. The cleaning instructions in the booklet are a joke - hot water and washing up liquid? Try cooking… Read more

roast pork and attempting to clean the oven afterwards with hot water and washing up liquid...and yes, I attempted to clean it whilst the oven was still warm as recommended. I notice this is a common complaint with this oven - super annoyed that I didn’t check these reviews prior to purchase. I didn’t consider checking because of Miele’s reputation. Foolish on my part. The oven functionality is fine but ease of cleaning an oven should be an integral part of a product’s design and on this count this oven is a big fail.

Most used Miele product in the house – We built a new house 3 years ago and installed 10 Miele whitegoods. Favourite item is the Speed Oven used daily. Unfortunately the glass tray has fractured along the entire front and LHS corner broken off from the door springing shut. This renders the oven partially useless now as glass tray is the primary tray. Cost to replace is very expensive being the only downside of the wonderful product otherwise. Show details ·  3

Impossible to keep clean – The woven linen surface is impossible to clean we have tried all the Miele recommended products and suggestions we also got a professional oven cleaner who told us that this surface is not easy to maintain. This expensive oven is now starting to look horrible. The surface can never be properly cleaned no matter what. Stay away from this… Read more

appliance as it is a very expensive oven which is not practical to maintain so you end up with a build up of burnt food...love to hear comments from people that have purchased this appliance and use it as their main baking oven!!

Glass tray easily broken and very expensive – Absolutely agree with D Craigi. We also have just broken our third glass tray in less than 6 years by the door closing on the tray. A very expensive problem. I do not understand why the item is so expensive and importantly, why it does not have etching or something similar on the front edge so it is more easily seen. Show details

Beware of glass tray – Very frustrated with the Miele combination oven’s glass tray ,which to me is a huge design fault. Today was the 3rd time the glass has shattered over the last few years. The problem happens if the tray is not pushed completely back in place after food has been removed and the door closes ( has a spring mechanism). This has happened to three different people operating the oven. And at $399 each time can be a costly exercise !

Drip marks :( – Great little convection/microwave oven that I use on a daily basis. This is my second speed oven and I have purchased from Miele and I was very happy with my older model but the newer model has an annoying issue. I believe this is a design problem which occurs when the oven is used in Microwave mode. If you heat something up that is moist,… Read more

condensation builds up inside the oven and I have found that the moisture makes its way and drips down in-between the internal and external glass panels in the door. This leaves unsightly drip marks that cannot be cleaned without calling a Miele technician to take the door apart. I have already paid once to have this done a couple of months ago and now its happened again. Their technician recommended leaving the door open so that the moisture evaporates, I have tried to do this, but unfortunately not everyone in the household is as careful as I am, and nonetheless, I feel that this is impractical.

Great – This is my second Miele oven and all my appliances in my house are Miele. Cant recommend it enough. Great quality and easy to operate. Has all the necessary functions and bake very good. You can bake 2 or 3 trays at once depending on what is inside. Even the service is very fast.  Show details ·  1

Great product and clean finishing – This product looks great, elevates the kitchen decor and has all the features one needs. Cleanliness just takes a little bit of time as with all products, but overall it is a good edition to the kitchen and can also save space if you live in an apartment or have less room.  Show details

Difficult to clean interieur – In the first 6 months I was very happy with it. But I was surprised how much choices that I have to make before even I can start cooking or heat up or micro wave some foor or even heating a half glass of some milk. No shortcut buttons, very time consuming. Milk boiled over very quick. Bad choice ever.  Show details

door fell apart. Twice – Great machine but bad choice of glue to hold on glass front. My glass front fell off and was repaired by being stuck back on. Then the top switch panel glass also fell off. The glue had failed here also. This time I fixed it with velcro dots. So great machine but check they have fixed the glass falling off the front problem. I expected better design/research into adhesives from Mielle.  Show details

I love this oven! – I have had this oven now for about 6 months. I was concerned with the reviews I had read before buying and did wonder whether I was making the right choice. I can say that I love this oven. I use it every day for most things. Cleaning is definitely an issue, so be prepared. Use baking paper on your tray to keep them clean and save a lot of… Read more

washing up. If you are going to cook something that will drip everywhere use a glass tray under the baking tray with paper. Clean the appliance straight away while the oven is hot to save baking on stains. The glass tray will bake on heavy stains, just use Selley's Oven Cleaner, let it sit for 10 minutes, outside, as it is a strong smelling product then all stains will come straight off.

This oven will cook everything perfectly when you learn how to use it properly. it is so advanced and sophisticated that it required a bit of playing around with to get it right. With patience and practice you wouldn't be without it. I put all my ingredients in it for dinner, tell it what time I want to eat and come home to perfectly cooked meals!! If I'm going to be out with the kids I have the food cooked for hubby when he is going to be home, he loves it, very spoilt!

The microwave functions can be adjusted in several ways so you need to practice using them to get them right for your taste. Pre-program the instructions into you personal menu when you are happy so you don't forget!!.Then the whole family can cook the dish, heat the milk for coffee for two people at once, whatever you like without having to experiment, just dial up the personal menu under coffee for two or whatever you like to call it!

I still can't use the entire functions of this beauty but I am learning all the time. Take the time to go to the cooking classes Miele offer so you can get the most out of it. Practice first so you have plenty of questions to ask at the course. Write down a couple of your favourite dishes and get the instructions for cooking them whilst completing your course.

I don't ever worry about pre-heating even for cakes, just bang them straight in and let the oven pre-heat on rapid to cook the cakes, slices, loaves whatever. It is quick, easy and fabulous.

I'm looking forward to learning new dishes and new ways of using the oven. Biggest tip, be patient and clean!

Expensive Oven, Poor Microwave Design – Recently added this oven during a total Miele oven upgrade in a kitchen renovation. A previous custom home built in 1990 also had a convection oven microwave (Sharp) and the microwave function cooked perfectly and lasted 20+ years. Having only viewed it in a showroom I was distracted by the glass shelf and racks, not noticing that there was no… Read more

rotating turntable to evenly distribute the microwaves in the food being cooked. First day I cooked bacon in the oven 1" of the bacon strip was charred black while the rest of the strip cooked as expected. Concerned by the obvious hot spot (and lack of rotation) I called the company. Sorry, that's just how it's designed. We suggest you cook the bacon halfway, open the door, and move the bacon. $3000 for a combo microwave and it doesn't microwave cook as well as a sub-$250 model bought for temporary use during the renovation project. My own fault but I would NOT recommend this model if microwave is the primary cooking method to be used. Less expensive Miele model includes the rotating platter as virtually every other microwave always has (including the 1990 vintage Sharp combo oven).

Very good ... but – Had my speed oven for 3 months. Love almost everything about it BUT it's a mongrel to clean, and that's even with "perfect clean" technology. The glass trays (which they recommend as baking dishes) are very susceptible to staining/marking with almost anything; and they don't wash up well even in the recommended, and yes, Miele dishwasher. Have… Read more ·  1

since discovered that this is a major issue of concern for many in various internet help forums. Not even scouring with a plastic scourer & dishwash liquid; or with Miele oven cleaner & Miele micro fibre cloth appears to work. The glass trays cost around $150 AUD to replace. The metal rack is also treated with perfect clean (according to post-purchase store demonstration) which means it can't be placed in dishwasher or attacked with a scourer. So beware of that as its not mentioned in the manual.! The back of the oven is just about impossible to reach (assuming it's built in at normal microwave height for an "average height" women, even standing on a stool!) The drop down door doesn't unhinge sufficiently to enable a decent reach in: maybe calls for a redesign to either a side opening door or fully removable door Miele!. The drop down grill element doesn't drop down sufficiently to enable full access to the oven ceiling ..Very unhappy with cleaning aspect. Happy with cooking functionality. German technology is great for cooking; maybe not so great for cleaning!
