Miele KM6304

Faulty Cooktop – Disappointing product from the company having a very good reputation. From the very beginning it would regularly give FE31 error that would be fixed by resetting the electrical connection. After 5 years it just stopped working continuously displaying the same FE31 error.

Miele poor quality and unreliable cooktop – Less than one year old and we already on our second cooktop after the first one was found faulty and replaced under warranty. Unfortunately the second cooktop displays exactly the same problems. The main problem being the hot plates will randomly change temperature settings ranging from high to low or off with no input from the user. This evening we had another pan fried salmon steak burnt to charcoal when the heat setting switched itself to a maximum heat of nine. It appears any small droplet of fat or oil on the hot plates when pan frying creates problems such as above. Secondly, if all four burners are being used, some burners will cut out or not work at all.

Finally if the cooking utensil such as a saucepan or fry pan is moved during the cooking process it triggers random temperature changes from the hot plates,

This is not an isolated problem with our cooktop as other product reviews from the Miele KM range reveal exactly the same problems. Refer to product reviews of KM6357. Perhaps Miele need to implement a product recall as other people have similar problems with their cooktops??

Finally we have purchased cheaper brands of cooktops in the past and never experienced the problems of this supposedly premium end cooktop. We await our second response from Miele.
