Nice Kettle( So Far ) – I am hoping this Kettle performs better over time than my last 2, I would give it 5 stars but the water indicator lets it down. Its too dark to see the water level easily. Pours well and easy to fill through spout. very quiet but remains to be seen if it stays quiet. Apparently once kettles get scale in them they get noisier so I will try and clean it regularly with some vinegar or citric acid. If it stays nice and quiet I will be happy.  Show 2 replies

ouch, not worth the money I paid for it – I barely got 6 months from this kettle as it leaked and it became full of rust. This kettle was expensive and not worth the money as it was a total let-down. I don't know how I could have called it a kettle. I brought a Lumina Kettle from Aldi which is still working after 18 months. I paid $125 for Morphy Richards 43890 kettle. Please for your own sake, DO NOT purchase this kettle as replacement was denied replacement by Myers

Bad design of water level indicator – I am pleased with the overall design of the kettle and it pours very nicely, however, because the water level background is dark brown I cannot see the water level clearly. This is a bad design fault. As I am middleaged I thought it could have been my eyesight, however, younger family members agree it is difficult to see. Pours beautifully without splashing. Comfortable to pour. Smart design. Water level hard to read.

Good after service – I got the kettle as a wedding present. It looks very elegant in my kitchen as I got the plumb colour because my favourite colour is purple. It is a quite pricy for a kettle but I think it is worth it because the after service is really good. I had accidentally broke it within 3 months of receiving it. It was totally my fault and long story short… Read more

the kettle accidentally slide off my handed and had landed on the kitchen bench and in turn broke the on/off button. But after a quick phone call to customer care I was asked to simply email them a copy of the invoice (as it was an online purchase) and there are happy to send me a replacement. After emailing them my invoice I was little worried when I haven't heard from them after 5 working days, but then on the 7th working day I received the replacement in the mail. I didn't even have to return the broken kettle. In terms of the product itself it just work like any other kettle. Great after service The silver lid can get water stains which looks a little ugly if you don't regularly (fortnightly) give it a good wipe :)

Total let-down.... Now I'm just embarrassed about how much I paid for it! – I bit the bullet and paid about $115 for a kettle - a great extravagance for me. Two justifications: quiet boil technology (so I could continue important kitchen conversations - we drink a lot of tea!) and no apparent plastic (especially important for reproductive health, given how much tea we drink). This kettle made a claim on the first but not… Read more

the second (I made an assumption based on look and price for that).

Unfortunately, the kettle failed me on both fronts. There is plastic inside (my own bad luck) and after only a matter of weeks, the wonderfully quiet kettle that never hinted at boiling until it was almost over became just as loud as my original, clunky kettle. It started up loudly from the moment I switched it on.

More than that: the water level is appalling to judge when filling. My partner's eyesight is worse than mine - he needs the weakest possible glasses to read, so not that bad really - and he hates the kettle for that reason alone. My eyes are fine but to give you an idea: if you shake the kettle as you carry it to the sink for more water, the water will go up and wet the level-reader higher than the correct level, so you can no longer see what the accurate level is, even after the water has settled.

Another thing: the teepee shape of it means that judging the water level closer to the base (a difficult task anyway, as per previous paragraph) is slower than when the water fills the upper section of the vessel (which seems to suddenly fill much faster). This is due to the varying volume (speed required to fill it) adjusting to the kettle shape. This is a minor gripe and I probably wouldn't notice it except that the kettle has been so disappointing in other areas.

Yes it looks funky but let me pop that bubble too.... The shiny stainless steel gets little dots and streaks on it - probably from touching it, I don't know exactly. Rubbing it with cloth can shine it up but honestly, who has the time or inclination to polish a stupid kettle that cost way too much to begin with?

Naturally, I went online to read review sites like this one before purchasing my Morphy Richards stainless steel kettle with quiet boil technology. Not one bad review. How is that possible when I've since encountered several faults? Surely not everyone is overawed by the visual aesthetic? So it's important I share my experience with others. Hopefully my consumer rights will entitle me to a refund (regarding the failed quiet boil technology).

Cheers and better luck with your own kettle purchase, whatever it is. Was quiet for the first few weeks Not quiet after the first few weeks, hard to judge water level, marks easily, very expensive, plastic inside.

Cannot see how much water is in the kettle. Ridiculous design. When we bought the kettle we… Read more

Stylistically gorgeous and a reliable indestructible "tank" quality – We have purchased so many [censored word removed] kettles (plastic white ones) we've had a Kambrook, a couple of Brevilles and a Sunbeam. The plastic kettles tend to get a horrible black residue on the inside after a short time and is quite difficult to clean. So after some research (some Russell Hobbs look alright) we decided on the Morphy… Read more ·  1

Richards. Never spent more than $60 on a kettle before, but I can tell you now....it was worth every penny.

Aesthetically it's gorgeous, (now we don't have to hide it in the cupboard).

And most importantly, it functions solidly. Boils water silently and super fast. Reliable, Silent, Aesthetically Stunning, Robust, Easy to clean.

Excellence in Design and Customer Service – I received this kettle as a replacement for a different model Morphy Richards kettle which developed a fault after a year, & is no longer available. One phone call secured the replacement which was delivered to my door. My thinking is, because electric kettles boil water, high temperatures & steam will eventually destroy most of them. All are… Read more

mass produced in China, so you are buying quality, style & features rather than a lifetime of use. With the 2 year guarantee you can buy a Morphy Richards kettle with confidence.

This new kettle is stylish, quiet, and an attractive kitchen accessory.

It has a feeling of quality about it, is easy to fill, & boils quickly.

The cut-off is quick and the electronically generated whistle is short, convenient, & charming. It can be disabled by a switch under the base if desired. Some form of illumination behind the water level indicator would have been a help as it is a little difficult to view.

I have always had jug type electric kettles with the side handle & wasn't sure I would like the conventional kettle style. I need not have worried. I love it. It is just perfect.

Over all, the kettle is well balanced in the hand, pours extremely well, & does everything an electric kettle should do, with style. It is without doubt, the best kettle I have ever owned! Elegant design. High quality. Very efficient. 2 year guarantee.

Brilliant Kettle! – Absolutely love this kettle! Great design, very stylish, easy to clean both inside & out. We were slightly put off buying this at first because of the "whistle-on-boil" feature, but we loved the design so much we bought it anyway. After getting home and reading the manual we found that this is easily turned off anyway (there is a switch… Read more

underneath the base).

Overall (and so far) we are very happy with this kettle - no complaints! Very good quality, stylish, easy to clean
