Morphy Richards Polished 4 Slice

Failed at 2.5 Years of Age due to Serious Electrical Fault – I bought a Morphy Richards 4 Slot Toaster Model 44039 AUS from Myer Carindale on 26 October 2013. The toaster failed on the 20th April 2016 when one of the wires in the heating element rose away from the insulator board and touched the bread that was being toasted. Fortunately the earth leakage circuit breaker on this circuit tripped the power… Read more
when this fault occurred. I found the fault after close examination of the toaster and immediately unplugged it and stopped using it. After comparing the heating elements of this toaster with other toasters for sale in April 2016, I observed that the heating element for this toaster has only one insulated support in the middle of the element to hold the wires down. Toasters made by other manufacturers are fitted with more insulated supports to prevent the heating element wire from distorting and contacting the bread being toasted. After this experience and the extremely short service life of this toaster I will never again buy Morphy Richards products of any type. They are poor quality and fail in a very unsafe manner.
Hope you like a leisurely breakfast – Bought this for my guest house, thinking because it's expensive it will work well and surely last. Big mistake - even if you start the breakfast order by making the toast, it still won't be ready by the time you've prepared the entire rest of the breakfast. Frustratingly, painfully, inexorably slow.
Warms bread - until it dries - no toasting! – Shocker - i have learned not to buy an appliance on how it looks (it does look amazing) but dries bread and does not toast! Now i need to try and change it as it cost a fortune too - wish i had not bought it and had made a different choice.
Very disappointed – 21/2 years to the date this electrical appliance went the same way as all modern appliances seem to go nowadays one side of the 4 slice toaster has died and keeps tripping the power switch. I expected far more from this brand and priced product, we also have the kettle I wonder if that will die soon. Looks great matches our decor and other appliances. Should have lasted more than 2/12 years, only used a couple of times a week.
What a piece of junk, looks great but useless for cooking toast, do not buy – I returned this toaster and got a brand new one twice before giving up (all three were faulty). If you look at the heating element when the toaster is on you can see that they don't all heat up properly so the toast is not evenly cooked (or not cooked on one side/top). It is not a cheap toaster so you expect a toaster that can cook toast. DO… Read more
NOT BY THIS TOASTER unless you only want it for the look. Looks good, saves power as only 2 slices if you want it is terrible at cooking toast, unevenly cooked or not cooked on one side, so slow that the toast is dehydrated and inedible.
What a [censored word removed] toaster – What more should I say I have had toast many ways but never as bad as what this toaster makes. Mankind has been toasting bread ever since there was bread and it has never been so bad. Simpe words do not describe the tragedy that is the toast that this machine makes. I wish I had never bought this rubbish product.
Worlds worst Toaster – All this toaster does is dry out the bread before it toasts it. You have to start toasting before you start frying the eggs. It is terrible. It is not a cheap toaster so you expect something that works well. It looks great but I'm afraid I will have to buy another toaster. Looks lovely Hopeless. Should be called a dryer
Great toaster – Great toaster. Cooks evenly and quickly. Would purchase again. Goes well with my kitchen. Cooks quietly. I don't know why people complain about this toaster as it is the best toaster we have ever had. We got this free with flybuy points so I was expecting it not to work, but it has worked great and we have been continually cooking toast… Read more
since. Our bread purchase has increased because we keep eating toast. Looks great on the bench and cooks great toast. What more could you ask for?
Lovely to Look At But Be Prepared to Wait! – I was particularly after this model of toaster, as it fits in well with my kitchen decor. My previous toaster heated all four slots whether you were cooking two or four, which was a waste of power, so this particular model addressed that issue enabling you to use two or four slots individually. I must say though, that whilst being thrilled with… Read more
how it looks, it is painfully s-l-o-w to cook! I honestly thought something was wrong with it - it was that slow! Because it cooks so slowly, it does tend to produce very dry toast, but that's ok if you like it crunchy and dry. Also make sure you allow plenty of time if you're in a hurry - do not buy this toaster if you don't have the time to wait for it to cook! If only the manufacturers had paid more attention to the cooking elements as well as the look of it! Looks great - great array of colours to choose from. Painfully slow to cook, and it's Painfully slow to cook - did I say that already?!
thank you great review will defiantly purchase this toaster as it toasts the way bread is meant to be toasted
Looks nice, that's it! – Takes WAY too long to toast! Did fit my requirement of the square shape, although is kind of a retro look which is not quite perfect for my kitchen. Didn't fit my husband s bread which is a wider loaf without jamming in the edges. I should have done more research! The shape wa what I was after Takes too long and doesn't fit wider slices well
Looks great, too big, too slow – I was given this as a gift. The toaster looks great. Too big to keep on bench, takes up too much room in cupboard. The main problem with it is that it takes forever to toast. I don't mind waiting but the toast ends up too dry and crunchy. I prefer it with a little moisture left in it. This is particularly evident when toasting raisin toast. Am… Read more
considering buying a new one because I won't eat toast out of this rendering it useless. Looks Size, really dries things out.
I too think this toaster looks great and that is where it ends. It is totally useless as a toaster… Read more
I like my toaster! – This toaster is the best toaster I have had! The look is a modern stainless steel polished finish, the slots are nice and wide for thick slices of bread, english muffins etc. It has some nifty features such as being able to lift the toast up high for those small pieces that sit below the top edge, a defrost and a reheat feature. Probably most… Read more
importantly it gives a nice even browning on both sides and over the whole piece of toast. Wide slots, reheat feature, defrost feature and nice even browning. nothing i can think of.
