MSI GL65 9SC
VerifiedMPN: GL659SC1 review
Some good specs, but fails at the basics – Actually a GL65 9SC (misread the font) Bought a gaming laptop primarily for the red backlit keyboard (helpful for astronomy). The basic performance is acceptable, but there are some major failures. The most egregious being unreliable USB connectors. Not just one of the three USB ports, but all 3 of them. When connecting external hard drives, a very slight movement is enough to disturb the connection, stopping video playback. USB astronomy equipment requires a reliable connection, which this laptop can definitely NOT provide. As a matter of fact I can't use some of my equipment through the USB, as the laptop can't recognise it's presence, even though windows is giving notification of the connection.
The other deficiency is the wifi sensitivity. Zoom meetings must be conducted in the same room as the wifi modem for a reliable connection, whereas my partner's laptop is capable of conducting a meeting anywhere in the house.
