What happens if nair is used near the sensitive area?
Rebecca I can't answer that. The information on the product gives you all the warnings you need to know. If you think the area is going to be sensitive then sometimes I used to put a thin layer of Vaseline on my skin before the product.
can this nair hair removing cream cause darkening of skin or thickening of hair?
Hi I can only speak from our experience - but in our case NAIR caused a blistery red rash - a lot like hives - and it took weeks for my daughter's skin to get back to normal. I don't recall seeing my daughter's skin go darker. I know products like Dove Summer Glow cause darkening of the skin - but that's because they are intended to do that - they are fake tans. Condy's Crystals (or Potassium Permanganate) causes temporary darkening of the skin if you want a short lasting fake tan. I can't comment on the thickening of hair part of your question because I don't know.
I would say however that if you have never used Nair before make sure you do the patch test first on tougher skin - like the shin or outer thigh - not somewhere like a bikini line - and if you feel even the slightest burning sensation rub it off immediately. If Nair and shaving don't suit you, you might like to explore other options - 3% peroxide (from the chemist) or camomile tea to lighten hair maybe.
Hi Tina I'm not sure if your question is because you have tried it or if you are just wondering? None of those things happened for me and thicker hair growth is usually hormonal. I would direct questions to the contact given on the box really
Thanks Beau and JZ66 for the replies. Actually I have been using olay hair remover for my face since long but it is not only very expensive but very mild in its action . Most of the times either all hair doesnot comes out or reappears within two days. I was really tired of using hair removers almost every alternate day. I was thinking of switching to Nair hair remover as I know Nair is a nice brand and it is cheap also. When I looked at its online reviews, most of them were really bad reviews for the product so I was skeptical about using this product. My upperlip has a tendency of getting dark with wrong products and takes longer to recover.
