Cannot think why this was Discontinued I have used this dye for year's them find out it's out of stock Australia and New Zealand which I managed to buy two earlier online in N.Z. but now it's out of stock. Discontinued apparently. Why was this dye discontinued. No one knows. But I would like to know. Show details
Follow-up · Didn't receive an answer regarding discontinued dye. But trying to find a similar dye and yea not that easy.
The best blonde ever! – This is the best color. It delivered what I expected. The lat colour 9a by Clairol delivered a brassy yuk colour and it stank of ammonia. I bought Schwartzkopf Palette 10.1 it delivered the most stunning platinum blonde on me last venit. I'm a natural ash blonde so I guess it depends on ones natural tone. Show details
Not recommended for skin conditions – I highly not recommend any of the colours, even if you have a skin condition like I do, as when I put the hair dye in my hair, the very first drop of it, it felt like a similar burn to a first degree burn feeling and for 30 minutes it was so darn painful where it did make half of my scalp have a really bad rash, and right before a convention too.… Read more
All the other hair products from diffrent brands never done this to me at all, just this brand affected my scalp, got the Color in but it left my skin in a bad rash.

Didn't bring out any colour after 45mins. Waste of money – Didn't colour my hair at all after 45mins of the colour application. I'm not happy at all. It's waste of time and money as far as I'm concerned. Just leaving me with a burning sensation. Show details
Not happy – Used this dye caused blisters on my head didn't feel any burning sensation will not buy this product again my head has gone all scabby and dry couloir didn't work out properly either Show details

100% Grey Coverage, great colour but it is a dark brown colour – Excellent grey coverage. Didn't even realise that a hair dye could cover 100% of my greys because other hair dyes that I have used never have, so was very happy, it was a bit darker than I liked (I am quite pale) but it still seemed to suit me, the colour was really nice, gave my hair a gorgeous chocolate brown glow/sheen to it in the light, and… Read more
unlike my previous hair dye, didn't fade after 3 weeks. I try to wait at least 4 weeks before dying my hair again but normally by 3 weeks, my hair fades quite a lot and my greys come out and I end up dyeing it by 3.5 weeks but I managed to wait almost 5 weeks this time after dying my hair with this product. Also didn't seem to dry my hair out as much as other dyes have. Definitely recommend but if you have dark hair, it can make your hair go much darker than the image on the box.
Soooo months after making the above review, I would like to add some more comments, unfortunately, as the hair dye was so good and doesn't fade, I still have dark brown hair AND as I have to dye my hair every 4 weeks, although I have ensured I only used a light brown hair dye colour since and only done my roots, it is making the parts of my hair that I dyed with the Chocolate brown go even darker so for 3+ months I have had this very dark brown hair which I didn't want and I don't know how to get rid of (in a way that wouldn't ruin my hair). I am trying only to colour my roots but impossible not to dye some of the parts that were already dyed so I really regret dying my hair with such a dark colour.
If you do a close up of the box in the Woolworths online shop, it actually tells you that the number 3 on the box represents DARK BROWN - why they don't actually put that on the box, I don't know as I would never have bought a dark brown colour.
Pleasantly suprised with the result – Just died my hair tonight. I had already brought the product and I don't usually use this brand but the shop had run out of my colour and this was the closest I could find. I read the reviews after I had brought it but before using it. I had read all the bad reviews like stinging scalp, black instead of light brown, intense smell etc.. but of… Read more
course I still decided to go ahead and use it! I decided I was prepared to have all of the problems above and just live with the consequence as my grays were 6 months old and really grossing me out.
I read the instructions. It says to do an allergy test 48hrs before use on your elbow. I wondered if the stinging scalp lady did one first? It also says to do a strand test to preview the colour results but I thought to myself "ain't nobody got time for that!" and was prepared to take the wrong colour, stinging consequence or severe allergic reaction.
The mixing was the standard tube of something, into a bottle of something else then shake your boobs off trying to mix it. Who knows if it mixed properly as both "somethings" were about the same colour!
I put the mixture in my hair, starting from roots as instructed and felt the "sting", well the packet did say not to use if you have a sensitive, irritated or damaged scalp (I guess dandruff = irritated or damaged scalp). The packet also states if you experience any stinging or burning to wash it off with cold water. But I took about 5 seconds, thought it doesn't feel that bad ( like the time I tried to chemically straighten my hair...but that's another story) and so I soldiered on and kept putting it in. After a few minutes the sting settled down, or it didn't get worse and it was so tolerable I ended up not even noticing it.
It is runnier than my usual brand but I kinda liked that. The smell wasn't as strong I thought it would be but I wasn't using the lighter colours so maybe the darker colours are not so smelly.
I set the timer but got caught up on a phone call so I must have had it in for 45 mins not the 30 which was meant to be. I also started timing after I had put it all in and I forgot to leave the ends till the last 5 mins. So basically I broke all the rules.
The colour rinsed out easier than my usual brand and I struck clear water within a few minutes. The conditioner is in sachets that you have to rip or cut. Because I jump in the shower and rinse my hair I was ill prepared for the sachet and had slippery hands. Tried to tear it in my teeth. Needless to say it doesn't taste great but it smells divine.
The conditioner says leave in for 2 minutes but I left it in a good 5-10 mins and had a shower while it was working (Probably the reason I get dandruff).
The colour did not go dark as I had thought it might from leaving it on too long, it actually came out similar to what was predicted on the box, my hair feels nicely conditioned and smells great.
The only downside I can see is it is runny so it can drip everywhere if you are not careful and we all know those drips can lead to stains everywhere, skin, sink, walls, floor etc... As soon as I noticed how runny it was I slowed right down to make sure that didn't happen to me.
Overall I am pleasantly surprised with the results and I will probably use this product again.
Worked as expected, happy with result – I have naturally medium brown hair with balayage highlights through the ends. I used this product sparingly through the ends to give the tips some extra highlight - hoping I could get away with not paying for another $200+ salon appointment. The smell of this product, like other reviews have stated, is intense, though I believe this is… Read more
highlighted due to the fact that you generally bring hair forward (closer to eyes and nose) during colouring to see what you’re doing. I kept moving mine back as much as possible and it seemed to help.
I left the product in for a full 30-35minutes before washing out and using the conditioner supplied. The conditioner felt great through my hair. I found didn’t need to use it all, as it was used just through the ends and I now have some left for the next wash.
The colour wasn’t overly obvious, just a few shades lighter, which was great for me as I wanted it to blend with the existing colour.
Overall, I thought this product worked well and it did the job I expected it to. I’ll most likely use it again in the near future to go even lighter in some sections.

Great, will continue to use – I was so surprised how well this worked! My natural colour is a greying light brown. It gave complete coverage and the colour is lasting really well. No unpleasant smells. Will keep using. No skin staining. It's a bargain! Show details
Good job for a box permanent colour! – After first using this colour and brand a couple of weeks ago, I am happy with this product. The colour was easy to apply and it didn't irritate my skin or scalp and the smell wasn't bad. However, the light brown level 6 colour did initially turn out like a level 5 medium and quite cool toned, not warm toned like the picture on the box. After a… Read more
couple of washes the colour is now closer to the darkest result of the colour swatch photos on the side of the box. My natural colour is a mousey light brown with a few greys. The product 100% covered my greys. I found the dye to be pretty gentle and I liked the conditioner that comes in the box.
my fave, go-to colour – i wash my hair once a week (long and thickkkk hair) and rarely go swimming so the last time i used this colour, it lasted over 8 weeks and probably could have gone longer if i didn't redye my hair a different colour at the time. I have brown hair so the dye stayed dark for around 3-4 washes before fading into a beautiful purple that turned more… Read more
and more violety as time went on (i used 2 packets). Even when its at its darkest stage, it glimmers in the light and catches everyone's attention.
The dye leaves your hair super shiny but your shower will look like you murdered Grimace the first few times. good thing is that it does not stain clothes or pillowcases.
Negative reviews
Wrong colour – What should have given me a nice, deep red, turned my hair into almost black. I now have to buy a clarifying shampoo, strip this horrible colour off and start again Show details

Doesn't last long – I wash my hair evey two days plus I heat dry it so that's why it would have faded so fast but it claims to last long for 8 weeks of colour??? The dye has been in for four days and already it's pastel purple. I was happy with it when I first dyed it, but definitely not now. Show details
Came out black – I wanted a nice dark brown colour - as the others here - and got black. I hope it's gonna fade out as I don't plan to pay for hairdresser to get it removed. But I don't like the black at all so I guess I'll have to. Show details

Love, love, LOVE 6-888 – I've used this colour for over 10 years never had issues. I shampoo every 3 wks with regular fresh water rinses using exfoliating gloves to massage scalp & help distribute natural oils. I do my regrowth at 3 wks, 6 wks then full colour at 9wks always using the colour lock conditioner. Minimal fading. Show details
Cheap nasty and it all just goes black – I buy medium brown and it just goes black on my greying medium brown hair. It stinks of ammonia for days, even after washing. It's effing horrible. Show details
Worst hair colour I have ever used – I’ve been dying my hair the same colour for years using various supermarket dyes. Bought Napro for the first and last time. Its very thick so hard to put on evenly but the colour is awful - nothing like any other brand. Far too dark. Plus my hair has never felt so dry after colour application. It might be cheap but there is a good reason for that. I’d score it in the negative if I could. Show details
Burning! – After reading earlier reviews I’m angry that this product is still being sold. The burning is traumatic and carries on for days. We should start a class action against Schwarzkopf!!! Show details
Burnt my scalp! Hair is coming out in chunks! – Don't use this product!!! I’ve never had any problems with any other box dye in my life! As soon as I put it in my hair my head was burning and stinging like crazy!! I lasted 5 minutes and washed it out as fast as I could! I have blisters all over my head and my hair is coming out in chunks!! The base of my head is bleeding!! How is this crap even on the shelves!!! Show details
It never set! – I bought 1-08 Black Burgundy and for weeks now it continues to wash out colour on every wash and I've washed my hair over 10 times!! I've never had a permanent dye do this before from any brand. Show details
Not impressed – Bought light golden brown turned out dark red brown gloves way to big conditioner impossible to open in the shower with wet hands would not recommend not the right colour Show details

Love it and works for me – I have geys that i have to colour every 2 to3 weeks ,cover every where and am very happy and get a lot of compliments from it. Today I’ve mixed the colour with a medium brown and it worked out well. Very happy with product. Show details
Looks like a murder scene in the shower – Similar to other reviewer- I think I just used all the water in the Tasman trying to get the colour to stop running. I’m now sleeping on a black towel in an effort to ruin my pillowcase. Show details
Cheap and works.. . Sort of – Beautiful colour on top of already bleached hair. Deep violet but fades dramatically after two washes to a less rich purple. Would not recommend you go swimming because a lot of colour would be loss. Unsure if it will last four weeks. Show details
Worst hair dye damage do not use – Left my hair dry like I put bleach in it and hair coming out in clumps my hair was so good before I dyed it with this brand now hair is like straw left on for the 30mins do not use unless you want hair to feel like it’s been chemically burned like a bad bleach job Show details
Never stops running – Never stops running, Literally rinsed in shower for hours but the colour never stopped coming out. My hair leaves red stains on everything, shirt, pillow, towel, hair ties, hats and headphones. My hair feels dry and brittle. Won’t use this brand ever again. Show details
Light Copper - My favorite - is it still available? – This is a great product with great cover , have used for years and have found it great. Cant find anymore in countdown, does anyone know were this is sold now in NZ Show details
My Hair Is Coming Out – I used this product as per instructions only to wash it out and have clumps of hair coming out, I’m actually worried as my hair is already short and thin that I won’t have any left. It left a burning sensation on my scalp too, I will only give a good thumbs up to how the colour turned out..!! Cheap & Nasty!! Only bought it because it was on special!! Would not recommend this product..!! Show details
Best diy hair dye I’ve used! – The dye hasn’t run out of my hair in the shower like others have over time, even when I rised the dye off the water ran clear very quickly compared to others. Excellent grey coverage and lasts well. Show details
Please purchase anything else but this! – As soon as I had finished applying this hair dye had the most intense pain to my scalp I had ever felt could not bare it and washed it out after 10 minutes , while it left my hair a nice white ash blonde the aftermath is not worth it , I have 3 decent sized scabs on my scalp as well as my whole scalp feeling so tender . Please girls purchase… Read more
anything else but this particularly if your hair is often treated with chemicals , being not a natural blonde my hair already goes through quite some damaging having to have root touch ups with bleach quite often so this could of turned out a lot worse could of possibly ended up with a chemical cut from the roots as this has been far more damaging and painful to my hair/scalp than any bleach root touch up has been I am very surprised I ended up with such little breakeage to my hair .
Acid – Put this colour on have never had an issue with the dye before burnt so bad my head was covered in blisters i was horrified as were my poor kids i was crying in pain had to lay with frozen peas on my head as the pain was just not goin away the blisters went in a day or too but my head is sti tender.. i dyed it 4 days ago well wouldnt say dye as it was washed straight out...
