Not recommended!! – The maps are inaccurate, in one instance it took me to an unsurfaced road and ended up in nowhere, pretty much damaged my vehicle!!. The signal Strength is OK. The device update is simply by connecting it to your PC and open the Navman software. In general, It's not reliable and the screen goes to white screen after you turn it on every often, very frustrating.

Terrible – I've had my Move 55 for less than a year and the touch screen is now next to useless. When I tap on a letter the Navman usually selects a different letter - often the letter after the one I press (no, I'm not miss-pressing). To make it worse, it sometimes selects the letter I press, so I can't guess which letter will come up. And the "back… Read more

button" doesn't work so you can't abort. I won't be buying any Navman products after this debacle. I just wish there was a rating below 1 out of 5.

Buy Tom Tom – Bought the Navman Move 50 as an upgrade from my old Tom Tom. The battery in the move 50 would not hold a charge & now the unit is out of warrantee the screen has failed. Am now back to using my old Tom Tom. The maps maybe old however the unit is still reliable.

Frustrated – The Move50 misled me to 850 Hay St instead of 580 Hay St wasn't too big a problem as I could adjust it myself in the city, but when I wanna go to 419 Albany hwy Victoria Park it guide me to 419 Albany Hwy Bedfordale is hell especially when everywhere is dark.

It seems that they have fixed the issue in a recent update.

Simply garbage – I have had 3 Navman GPS's of various models. All 3 failed not long after warranty expiry and went in the bin after very little use. The batteries were very poor at holding a charge and the screens failed in all of them. One was a top-of-the-line model. This make (Navman/Magellan) is simply junk; don't waste your money on one.

poorly tought about when made – battery does not hold charge never switches of when turning vehicle of so battery goes flat in seconds always have to accept terms and conditions annoying never keeps your settings always have to hit the side down menu to know my speed, distance etc very annoying and promise life time maps which they don't hold to

Absolute waste of money – Navaman move 55 is an absolute waste of money. The battery doesn't hold the charge. it doesn't give you the alternate route. Freezes while driving. Nothing positive at all. I had a navig8r and it got faulty after 4 years. Looking for a new Gps but won't try Navaman again.

rubbish – Poor customer support when trying to buy a Europe map and it died forever after 2 days of use in Europe. This is the worst GPS product I have used. My old Tom Tom was way better and the support people actually know what to do to make devices work. Avoid the Move 50.Avoid Navman products.

Don't even think about it.m – Bought this model purely to download and use in Ireland. I am of the opinion it is not fit for purpose as Navman have removed the map for Ireland and are unable to tell us exactly when the new version will be available . As we leave in 4 days we have a Navman of no use to us on our holidays. Plus, when contacted the company they didn't seem to… Read more

interested. Why would you remove a map before the new one was available doesn't make sense. They have our money we don't have a map. Taking it back to the Good Guys will post their reply.

Waste of money – This has to be the worst purchase that i have ever made. The map colours are dreadful. It takes for ever to start up.The battery holds no charge. It does not turn off automatically . It does not even tell you the name of the roads you are approaching. Absolutely pathetic. I will never again buy another Navman product.

A Navman disappointment – I had to return the first unit. It would run for 15 minutes to an hour and then die. Navman were painful to deal with, however Repco organised a replacement and sent the faulty unit back to Navman. The second unit seem to be working well until after a 3 day trip to Melbourne, it died just outside Melbourne just when it was needed the most! I had… Read more

heard other people complain about navman products, but I thought at the price of $89 how could you go wrong. Now I know better!

Update I finally ended up with a working unit. It was not the best for navigation, but was helpful with speed limit and other warnings. There was a change made to the GPS system and after that it stopped functioning. I'd had it for 3 or 4 years that stage. I contacted Navman and to my surprise they sent me a new unit with 2 years of updates. I have to admit I was pretty impressed. These days, I use Google maps or Waze for navigation, but it is helpful with speed limit and other warnings as well. It's still working and I keep using it in my car, however, it's now past the 2 years of updates and the cost for updates was almost as much as the unit cost the original unit I purchased, so I chose not to get further updates.

Happy user of Navman Move 50 – I am very happy with my Navman Move 50. I had a TomTom before. It has some problem like the battery doesn't hold the charge after 1 year. The unit is quick to find GPS signal and alternative routes. It comes with the lifetime map update. Prior to update the map, there was an option to choose the route type (Fast, Economical, Easy, Short) just… Read more

after searching for address without going to setting menu and see the alternitive routes on the map but now that option is removed.

I only have a choice to choose a Route Type from setting and no option to see alternative routes and choose the one that I prefer.

Annoying flat battery problem when run from car auxiliary supply – Has annoying problem with flat battery Unit powers up automatically with external power supply . When the power supply is removed the unit remains on thus flattens the battery in the unit.

Better than expected – Ok, can't say I was happy with the first impression. Got the thing and turned it on, only to realize that the battery is low. As I was not driving and was in the house, I had to find a suitable power source to charge the GPS (it only comes with the car charger and a USB cable. I got it going using my phone's A/C charger. Tried to go through the… Read more

settings and could not get a satellite signal inside the house (I can with my mobile and Ipad). Installed the software came with the GPS (the CD) and connected onto the PC. It came up with a massage saying I have new map updates available. I pressed OK and it automatically downloaded and installed the maps for both Aus and NZ. Once finished removed from the PC and turned on the GPS, error message saying 'no maps are installed on your device'. Connected back to the PC and the software is showing latest Aus and Nz maps are installed on the device. Removed and tried again, same error, no maps. Hooked up to the computer again and I deleted the existing maps from the device. Then I selected Aus map from the list, (can't select Nz now without paying) and pressed install. Waited until finish, removed from the PC, it's finally working.

Now that is just to get to a running state. As for the performance, I search for a well known address (a botanical park in Berwick) and the GPS was giving me directions to go to Clayton (opposite direction on Princess Highway). Only good thing is while I was in the car it picked the satellite signal within one minute. It also gives you the speed you are travelling and warns you of red light/speed cameras. But it failed to find a very simple address, so I need to do more tests to see it's worth the money I paid for.

Low Performance Less Features No Trip Recordings – Can no longer record trips. Most parents will hate inability to know what their kids did with their car. My old S45 was a lot better.

Navman Customer Support is a Joke – This product has many problems, many of which are cause by the inability to update or register with the product code (that i received with purchase). There is little to no support on how to maneuver system updates and no feedback from navman. Not impressed at all, would not recommend.

No Satification – I was reasonably happy with Navman Move 50 for the price. Unfortunately after 13 days it stopped working, as we were out of mobile and internet range. We could not report it or return it within the 14 day limit set out by (BIG W). Navman support is a major joke. Promised to ring back between 24-48 hours still waiting 3 days later. Reasonable Price for Product for 13 days Stopped Working

good for 80 $ – Cheap, 80$ at Target in Australia, works, a few tiny glitches. Got us all the way across the country and up the coast with no more screw ups than our $350 Garmin. Finally someone taking a run at Garmins self serving use of the technology. Makes it hard to spend more for little improvement good cost, reasonably accurate, speed limits and camera ID is spot on. Fragile. Feeble. Won't last – I didn't have a chance to use it. While installing it into the holder, it flexed and the screen fractured. Not just one fracture, but several. Looking at the unit afterwards, it is obvious that the unit has a weak frame (plastic?) and will flex quite easily, but the screen is very thin glass and breaks. Cheap. Looked good. Poorly made. Broke quickly and easily.

a total flop – Purchased one of these recently. Slow start, misinformation when driving of up to 1.5 kilometers off the mark. Battery would not charge for out of vehicle use. Navman support is a joke. Didn't want to know, or could not offer a solution to these problems. It is a bin job so will purchase a different brand GPS. The store that sold it have come to… Read more
