Netgear AirCard 800S Mobile Hotspot

Really bad – Doesn’t get any service. Phone does but modem doesn’t. Also it stopped working and had to factory reset it after 3 weeks
- Number of Connected Devices: 1 devices
- ISP: SpinTel Internet
Keep stuck in shutting down mode forever – The product is terribly unreliable. It works one day and becomes useless another day, keep getting itself shut down. Services is also hopeless. Try best to avoid and buy something else.

This review is SPECIFICALLY for the AC800S Modem/Dongle - DO NOT BUY – As in the title, this review is SPECIFICALLY for the AC800S modem. Bought AC800S 4G Modem and have had serious issues, jitter (on the order of 90ms), dropouts, terrible speeds, high pings (several seconds) and it keeps resetting CONSTANTLY (at least 4-5 times an hour). I have tried updating the firmware, resetting the modem to factory defaults, using 5G and all the diagnostic steps on Spintel's website but to no avail.
It turns out, my issue is not just for Spintel customers but Optus customers as well. See: https://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/optus_wireless_broadband Scroll down to where it says: "I bought an AC800S but it is unstable. How can I fix this?". Neither Optus nor Netgear are willing to take responsibility and have delivered a shoddy product (I say Optus because this is an Optus branded product).
I have since bought Huawei B818 (this is not a portable modem however) and have had no issues since, with fast speeds overall. The connection is SIGNIFICANTLY more stable. All I had to do was put in the SIM card and it worked out of the box, with no issues for more than 2 weeks now.
Bottom line: DO NOT BUY AC800S from Optus/Spintel.
AC800S AIRCARD – The AirCard 800S is a (Cat 9) modem supporting Category 9 LTE and 3-band Carrier Aggregation They claim it has the ability to reach speeds of 450 Mbps. I have only been able to get 120 Mbps It has a simple touch screen interface and very user friendly easy to reprogram or customise name and password, it will support up to 15 devices in 2.4 & 5 Ghz range.
Great device if you're a traveller works anywhere very easy to connect
I purchased mine in a bundle from the internet service provider.
