I have only just bought Nexgard for my Border Collie. I should have read the reviews before paying $47.00 all up including a very costly delivery. Now I’m too frightened to give it to him. There are some good reviews but it seems the more I read, the more negative they are. I might just give him half and wait a couple of days to see how he goes.

Nexgard spectra is a good product. We used to have our dogs on simparica trio which was making them sick every month. But nexgard spectra is great with no issues for our dogs. We recommend nexgard spectra. Show details

Works the way that it should – Reading the other reviews has been a roller-coaster of a ride. I'm glad that I didn't read them before I gave the tablets to my dogs! I've had no issues with any sorts of side effects, they seem to be tolerated by my two Rottweilers. I have a male and female, and both are desexed. The only negative is that they don't eat them unless they are well… Read more

mixed into their food. The pack sizes, either one tab or three tabs in a packet, aren't useful for two dogs. I like that the tablets take care of worms and fleas for a month. We live in North Canterbury - New Zealand.

Should be banned – My dog had a seizure after taking his second dose of this tablet. It was a full grand mal seizure followed by 2 others whilst at the vet. He is a healthy 3 year old. MRI and spinal tap showed nothing. Days prior to this he has led twitching and muscle tremors and then the seizure. Had I know this was a possibility then I would never had given… Read more

it to him. The FDA has now put a warning out about the drug. I am trying to get someone to take responsibility and pay his bills. He has now got to be on anti seizure meds for minimum of a year and all thanks to this stupid tablet.

Great product – Great product for our Doberman and Rhodesian Ridgeback. No issues with worms, fleas or ticks. Expensive, but we have had no side effect issues, so I'd certainly recommend this product as it covers pretty much everything in one chew. Show details

Gave to my 9 month old lab - Big Mistake – Vet provided us three options not explaining the possible side effects. Thought the heart worm and tick combo would be best option. Our dog had diarrhea after two days which lasted for about a week overnight. Thought it was his food so changed it. Gave this medication on first of next month two days later same reaction. Our dog was salivating, hyper but the diarrhea at night time was out of control. Do not use this product. Show details

Product does exactly what it says and works perfectly fine. Godsend for protection against fleas and ticks – We've been giving Nexgard Spectra to our 5.5 year-old Greyhound (who comes in at just over 30kg) since we got him 3.5 years ago. We have also been giving it to our smaller (11.5kg) 12 year-old cattle dog, jack russell-cross since we got her 2.5 years ago. We were advised to use this product by our vet and it works wonders. In all the time we… Read more

have given this medication to our pets we have not had a single issue. No adverse reactions. No irritations. Nothing.

The only thing that does happen is our Grey might get a bit of an upset stomach if we give him the full 30kg tablet, but he gets diarrhoea if he so much as looks at something outside of his incredibly strict diet. He's had an incredibly sensitive stomach since we got him, so we suspected this was because of the large pill rated at 30 - 60kg and him being only just over 30kg. So what we normally do is give him 2/3rds of a tablet and he's fine and happy, no issues since we've started doing this.

I have not seen a single tick or flea on either of them even once. Even though we've walked near long grass during hot humid seasons. Not one tick. This product is amazing. Yes it's a tad expensive, but it's one chew and your dog is safe from paralysis ticks for a whole month. What more could you want?

Our dogs go for regular vet check-ups, including blood tests and they're always healthy and fine. Our greyhound is a blood donor and even the blood donation clinic gives him a 1-pack of Nexgard Spectra as a reward. Why would they give me this if it had a real risk of harming my dog on whom they rely for live-saving blood donations?

I have not had a single vet tell me that Nexgard is harmful to pets. I can't understand why people have such an issue with this product. Don't get me wrong, losing a pet or having them get sick and going to the vet is terrible and traumatic, and I don't wish it on my worst enemy. But most all of these reviews I see on here saying the medication had this or that effect give zero hard evidence linking these symptoms to the Nexgard. Also, it's very hard for me to take your review seriously if it's in all caps and you're barely using proper grammar.

Pets get sick. It happens. It sucks, but it happens. Unless your vet has explicitly told you that your dog has had X or Y reaction or passed away as a direct result from being given Nexgard, I don't think one can really assume it was the cause. I have close friends who are vets and even they have told me it's perfectly safe and they have never heard of a case of Nexgard killing a dog.

Also, I'm not saying that it absolutely cannot happen. Of course it can. But I'm just as likely to take some pill tomorrow and have some reaction.

I honestly don't believe vet, after vet, after vet would recommend this product to me if it had a significant probability and or a record of harming and killing dogs.

This product is toxic & should be not be on the shelves – Our 2 year old Labrador has had 2 seizures since being given this product. He is now on medication for Epilepsy. He has also become more anxious since his seizures and has to have blood tests to make sure medication isn't harming his vital organs. Will be using natural remedies from now on. Show details

Best preventative for paralysis tick – This product is great for protecting dogs from paralysis tick in the tropics. I have used it on dogs of all sizes, ranging from 8 week old puppies to a 30kg German short haired pointer. I have used it on chihuahuas, basenjis, German shepherds, huskies, mareemas, border collies and more. I ensure that the first dose I give a new dog is smaller (one… Read more

size class down) and if it is tolerated well I give the correct dose moving forward. The worst symptom that I have witnessed is diarrhea but I am sure to check if the dog has heart worm before I give it due to the risks. Some dogs do not like the smell and taste so it has to be hidden in cheese.

Suspicious that it causes sickness – I've been using this for my old labrador. Twice now she's lost appetite been very lethargic and had bad diareha. I'm taking her off this product Vets report similar cases but it's not conclusive. Suggest that owners keep an eye on their pets post dosing.

Nexgard Spectra is Poisonous – I do not understand why this poison is still on the market. Only after reading the many reviews on this poison (most of them bad) that I realised why my dog was going through a monthly phase of vomiting, appetite loss, diarrhea and lethargy. I know now she was suffering after giving her a dose of Nexgard and why she was scratching a lot, … Read more

could not sleep and woke me up several times at night to vomit and defecate. Negative results of Nexgard outweigh the positive ones. This poisonous product should be taken off the market immediately before causing any more damage, pain and suffering to our pets. Are the manufacturers of this product waiting for a large number of pets to die first before they take this poison off the market?

Awesome product and amazing results! – My dog was consuming another brand of flea and tick oral treatment and still was extremely itchy and suffered with FAD (flea allergy dermatitis). I did my own research and discovered Nexgard Spectra, after consuming my dog had no problems with FAD nor was he extremely itchy! I love this product and highly recommend it! It’s extremely convient due to that fact intestinal & heart working are covered within one chew. LOVE IT!!!
