Nobili Nobili OZ T2 tap – a no-goer, unfit-for-purpose – This tap is far from ‘cutting-edge’ (dripping-edge, more like it) and ‘affordable Italian design’ in my opinion should be ‘unfit-for-purpose Italian Design’. At $1,130 it is an over-priced lemon! I have posted a review on Product Review rating it 1/5 because there was no option for 0/5. It was installed two months ago and these are the issues: … Read more
1) The salesman sold it to me as a mixer tap with a spray. Reece Plumbing website had a photo of the tap with the blurb directly next to it stating, ‘Nobili Oz T2 Sink Mixer and Spray INOX.’ Only after installation did I discover that it had no spray function. The spray model has a different head. The pull-out servers only to rinse the sink which a swivel of the tap head does just as well.
2) Compounding this is that Reece Plumbing sold me a Franke Fraganite double sink. Its waste is offset and the Nobili tap overshoots it, resulting in continual splashing on my benchtop even though I wash and rinse with care. The two are not a compatible fit.
3) The flow of water spirals along its length and, more often than not, has a fine, secondary stream that follows behind it.
4) Most recently, some of the water flow tracks back along the spout and pools around the base of the tap.
5) The red and white plastic button on the tap column, indicating hot and cold, fell out. Flimsy construction. The inner collar was not intact.
I chose this tap as it was hard to find a low-profile tap in brushed stainless steel.
All in all, in my seven decades as a tap owner, this is the ONLY tap that has posed a problem. Adding insult to injury, this under-performing tap came at three times the price I would normally outlay for a fit-for-purpose tap.
Fortunately, Reece Plumbing will refund the tap and, with my insistence, the area manager has verbally agreed to cover the cost of removal and replacement. I have provided a quote for this. I am grateful to Reece Plumbing for taking active responsibility for this debacle.
Nobili? Never, ever again!
