Nuwave Induction – I first bought Nuwave induction more than 10 years ago. Recently I bought another one. I really like using the induction and is very easy to use. I recommend to everyone to buy Nuwave induction for a long lasting product.

Purchased in at Nuwave online for $189.

Power hungry – I just received and tested the Nuwave Pic Gold and it is power hungry. I had it on my Biolite 1500 it was sucking between 715-750 watts constant on its high setting. My home fridge uses less in the long run. Not a practical choice for campers if power is a concern. Other than that it seems to work fine.

Purchased in for $287.

false promises – I am not sure if its my bad luck but to me it looks like another product which promises quite a bit with fancy reviews but doesnt work as promised. 1. it claims to be around 2kilowatt and high efficiency. It starts heating pretty quick. However it cant keep high temperature for cooking. I have a 900 watt grill which can keep higher temperature then this and is faster to cook once it becomes hot. 2. temperature sensor: I doubt if it has got anything good to control the temperature. Water on this can boil anywhere from 70% to 120% depending on how much quantity you got and how long you wait. which is a bit of disappointment considering thats one of the main feature. 3. heating area. You can check this on youtube videos. the section that heats up is a fraction of the size of unit. the rest of it wont heat up. which is a bit of a disappointment as i guess its just empty and taking space on your countertop without doing anything. it would also help cooking at higher temperature.

Purchased in at Amazon for $249.

Poor Quality and no Service – About a year ago, I purchased from the US company Newave, the Induction Cooker. The product was advertised on TV. I thought that the price was interesting and the item could save electricity. The cooker is practical and makes a good impression until it comes to usage. I used the item very little as I still have an induction cooktop in my kitchen. If I state that I have used the cooker about 20 times since I purchased it that would be plenty. Nevertheless, the plastic protection cover of the various selection buttons are getting porous and the stop button has a hole in the plastic surface making the item dangerous as fluids can log into the switch. I have covered the defect point now with a heat resistant and waterproof, professional insulation tape. (Please see photos). I cannot believe that an item like this is in such a poor quality finish and it is dangerous as well. In other words, one spends $350 on an item that is after over one year of usage and just at the end of the guaranty the item is only good for the garbage bin. Be careful purchasing these kinds of products from this company online or on one of the TV seller companies as they are not as wonderful as promised in the advertisement. There is an excellent Australian manufacturer/distributor in the market selling an Induction Cooker by the name of Ecoheat. This product comes with under glass and touch-sensitive switches. No plastic covers are used and the item is by miles better to clean and handle. Furthermore, this product is far cheaper and better and the local Sydney service is to be recommended.
