Unreliable machine – I had to return my 4.7kw model after approx. 22 months (it has 3 year warranty). I upgraded at time of exchange to a 5.2kw model. powerful enough to cool my large single room even when external temp reaches 32c. I often leave it running for 12 hours at a time and turn off only overnight.

kitchen + another room on a hot day so it is concerning that it struggles with this. On a really hot QLD day you will still be warmer inside but definitely more comfortable than outside (so that's a plus). The most annoying thing I have found is the manual drainage method. On a humid day the reservoir is only big enough to run the aircon for about 30mins before it needs to get emptied. To change it you need to pretty much lift the air con onto a pile of books, undo the plug into a container, and then tip the aircon sideways slightly. When you do this there also seems to be another reservoir somewhere which results in it leaking through the vents and sides onto the floor. So you always end up with a wet floor no matter what you do. The direct drainage method is better but the unit does not come with a hose (which is ridiculous considering it's a +$1000 unit), so you need to buy one separately and hope you get the right size (because the booklet doesn't tell you the size). The last thing is that the unit is also extremely loud. No one knows what 65db sounds like when you read the specifications, so you just assume it would be reasonably engineered to sit in a lounge room. Nope. You will struggle to have a conversation when you sit within 1 metre of it, and you can definitely hear it in the next room (e.g. where you might be sleeping). This seems to be the same db rating as other units that size, so it's probably more of a restriction with what is possible in a portable air con.
Summary: - Good cooling, although a bit troubling that this gigantic unit struggles with a living room / kitchen + 1 room. - Too small manual reservoir, resulting in frequent need to empty - Very annoying when it comes to emptying the reservoir. - Leaking of other water from other areas outside the reservoir. - Very loud -- 65db! although this is normal across the board with other air cons that size.
It is hotter inside than out. It never drains water like a normal AC unless it's on the heat setting., – It's very noisy, you have to stand in front of the machine to feel the cold. It never drains. house as it's a rental otherwise I'd pay to put one in properly. I had it on the floor I've now lifted it up to level of the window so it may help to drain but still nothing coming out. So I feel like I'm paying electricity to cool a place that isn't functioning properly. The only way I've discovered it will drain the water is if I lift the front of the unit up. What a ridiculous system.

Great when it obeys – It cools the whole house when it follows my input. The problem is it doesn't. I'll set the temp and the mode and the other functions. Next thing I know it's doing all sorts. they're doing with their gadget it's affecting mine. Either that, or the power company is controlling it because I often find it running full ball at it's lowest setting in the middle of the day or night when I set it on a modest 24°C for my climate. So, I'll be contacting the company to see how to get this sorted. Would be a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, but it might end up a ⭐.
Purchased on a day of 37deg so slept well. Hooray! – Purchased from The Good Guys for an excellent price. Spent quite a while setting up, mainly the window fitting for the heat outlet hose through the window but finally got a perfect air tight fit. too although upon downloading the app it said it does not support the 5g network which I have but I went ahead with registration anyway and, to my surprise it connected. Apparently this is because my router is dual band (TPG) that supports both 5g and 2.4g simultaneously. I slept with it on all night no problem although it’s fairly loud but selecting quiet mode helps a bit. I actually measured the decibel levels on normal and quiet modes and the result was 56db and 52db respectively so not too bad considering that all portable air conditioners are noisy.
Olimpia Splendid, More than "splendid" it's FANTASTIC! – This unit is in the computer room 8x4 Meters, and bloomin' hell, does it cool! At night the unit can cool the room to a pleasant 19 degrees C on DEHUMIDIFY MODE, (see attached pic) and in the warm muggy, and on DEHUMIDIFY MODE it really sucks out the humidity somethin chronic, and in the Townsville nights that is a good thing! P1 ERORR MESSAGE FOLLOWED BY DODGY SERVICE! – I went to the store to return the Air Conditioner as it wasn’t working and when I got there they were able to get it to work without any errors. When packing it back into the box for me to take home they didn’t empty the water out of the unit and when they tilted it water went everywhere. Display Model as they didn’t have any other units left.
The Store Sales Manager then emptied what was left of the water in the unit onto the floor and told the warehouse staff to wrap if up and walked to the front of the store.
The Air conditioning units plug as left sitting in a puddle of water and then put back into its box.
I sent an email to see if the company could help with this issue but it only seems like they can help if you live in the Eastern states
In the end it sits in its box ( I will not be selling this secondhand as I worry that it will malfunction for the next person).
Will not buy from this company again.

Design: 5 out of 5 - looks great and moderately compact for a powerful 5.3kW Cooling power
Cools: Small to medium rooms with ease. Large bedrooms or living rooms with high celling will take longer. Remember portable aircons are not efficient when compared to split aircon. I would say this 5.3Kw Aircon does the same thing as a 3.5kw split aircon would, which is really good for a portable aircon.
Other Pros: No water leaks, no signs of water anywhere. Compressor/Cooling starts right away, no waiting like in some of the older models that I've used.
Minor Con: Air does not fully blow horizontally which would have been nice when you want quick cooling on skin. But it cools the room so fast that it doesn't matter so much.
So good, that I've now bought a second one to cool the kids room!
Old one now cools my Covid-19 Home Office and hot PC (the master and living room now has a split-aircon but the other rooms not possible due to high rise apartment - split aircon is so much quieter and recommended. But really, you should only be getting portable aircon when other solutions are not possible)
Other notes: When room reaches desired temp (which it does in small/medium rooms), the AC compressor will temporarily turn off. During this time the AC runs in fan only mode which circulates the air in the room allowing for a nice breeze and maintaining constant sound so you don't wake up from sleep. However sometimes I have been interrupted when the compressor turns on/off (like all portable aircons)
In max AC Cooling mode the fan gets pretty loud and blows a good amount of air. I prefer to keep the fan speed in low for quietness and it still cools the room as normal.
Testing shows it cooled my room from 22c to 18c in 6 mins and kept cooling down to 17c. In very hot days/nights it was able to bring down a 42c+ room to 21c.
Everything else is standard as far as portable aircons go. Such as you need a window or some outlet to throw out the hot air. It comes with the necessary piping for most windows.
