Loud (on the lowest fan setting) but efficient cooler (below 35 degrees). The sleep function is problematic. It only dims the ever present display for as long as the cooling function is running or your timer. As soon as you change to dehumidify or fan, or the timer runs out, on come the blinding display lights. Timer - 8 hours maximum, so you will… Read more

be blinded at some point by the display. The sleep function does nothing to quieten the unit. The remote control temperature setting can become out of sync with the unit - say unit 25, but remote 26 - if you use the remote to control temperatures. It seems optimal to only run as a cooler, despite the other functions and how loud the device is. In 40 degree temperatures, obviously you need to run the device at a much lower temperature, otherwise, expectedly, it cannot cope. I use the device with fans because the swing motion on the unit does not do much to disperse the cooled air (even at the highest fan speed, thundering louder than conceivable for such a small unit).

Attention buyers – What a absolute horrible product ....I just brought one after having the same brand for over 10 years and this version is absolute disgusting......$1200 dollars later ,the noise is just horrible...the way it is made and what ever it's made out off is ,I know it's never going to last .the hose that goes to the window feels like it's going to break… Read more

in your hands ...the over all design is appalling.....it's not cold unless you put ear plugs in and turn it up that loud you think a plan is landing .....not to mention you have to make bits up to attach it to the window...I will never buy another one off your products...

Cools well, query on drainage outlet – Purchased the Procool 16E this week and is cooling really well. We are in Darwin with high humidity so we are emptying the water several times a day. The drainage outlet is so close to the ground though we have had to elevate the unit to get a container under the outlet. As we are moving the unit to different rooms at various times of day, this is… Read more ·  1

an issue as the unit is heavy to take of the elevated base we are using so is a cumbersome task. Does anyone have a solution as to how we can effectively drain? We thought of attaching a tube but thinking as that would be gravity fed probably won’t work. Would be grateful for any ideas please.

Appalling – We have had an Olimpia portable air con (PIU model that is now discontinued) in the past which was fantastic but after 10 years it understandably gave out. We purchased this model the Procool 16 E yesterday from the Good Guys. The first thing I noticed when removing parts from the box was the poor quality of the exhaust hose, almost paper thin… Read more

and very difficult to attach onto the fixed exhaust outlet that attaches to the back of the unit. It is also a very very noisy unit, much noisier than the PIU we had. Luckily noise doesn't usually stop me getting to sleep. Cooled the room down beautifully and I had to turn it off halfway through the night as the room got too cold. Woke up about an hour later and the room had warmed up so I turned the unit on again, after about an hour I noticed the room was not getting any cooler and I got up and noticed the air con display was reading 31 degrees C and that the hose had become detached from the fixed exhaust outlet and the room smelt terrible. The mentioned attachments were all attached (after great difficulty) and working when first turned on so this happening to us in the middle of the night is nothing short of appalling, particularly when you spend over $1000. I have had to use tape to keep the hose attached and I will return this air con if it happens again. The attachments for this system are poor quality garbage. Disgusted.

Fan speed not working – I recently just bought one of these from the good guys, the fan speeds aren't working properly. If I'm close to the machine I feel the cold air but the whole room isn't cooled down. It also cycles on and off every 5mins. I don't think its supposed to do that is it? Should I return it to the good guys for a replacement? Show details

The best portable air con – This is a powerful air con and managed to quickly cool my entire living and dining area. Yes portable air cons are a bit noisy but this unit is less noisy and far more effective than previous cheaper ones I've used. You get what you pay for!  Show details ·  1
