OZ Design Fabric Chaise

Poor knowledge of salespersons at Wollongong – Bought a sofa bed and paid extra for fabric. Salesperson attitude ok but did not suggest to look at samples in natural light- in the back of shop looked more green/ blue but when delivered the sofa was more blue grey (not a slight variation) The fabric company stated that because the material was more like a chenille the sales person should have… Read more
informed to view in natural light. Recently my sister in-law went to the Campelltown store & stated the staff there were very knowledgeable re fabrics & very positive attitude Would not recommend the Wollongong shop: there was not even an offer of a voucher to buy a throw. I Have spent a fair bit of money for accessories & will have to paint the room- poor form, customer service poor.
Jake Chaise – Bought a Jake Chaise in 2008, told it was leather! A few years down the track, chaise starts to crack and peel... not leather, its bicast. Now left with peeling chaise, paid $3000 .
Not worth it – We purchased a dining table and sofa set from Oz Design Auburn. All in the bill was over 3K. With the Sofa - we expressly inquired as to how long it would be. We did not want to wait too long. We were told by the shop assistant that the lead time is 6 weeks but someone ordered the same couch last month and they got it within 2 weeks. The… Read more
couches are made in Melbourne.
It took is 3 months to get the couch. What was 6 weeks became 3 months of waiting. Email after email and calls to find out what going on. Nothing too helpful. Usual stories of the fabric being out of stock and having to order it in. When I asked at the time of order if the fabric was available, I was told that yes it was. They will say anything to get the deposit. And after that they could no care less.
Save your self heartache. If you buy thinking 6 weeks, dont expect it.
I hope i dont have to deal with them for warrenty issues! ok quality delays, untruthful
Absolutely appalling and terrible experience – Bought dining table and chairs from oz and never again. Table was suppose to be delivered in 6-8weeks, took 4months and, that is after I chased them for it. Chair that was delivered, again there was a delay and 3/4 were faulty and wrong colour which meant I had 1chair for 2people for a week. When re delivered, again they sent the wrong colour… Read more
chairs. Wasted 2weekends with this incompetent company. They promise to ring back, no one did and I had to ring to chase them for delivery. Furniture not cheap!
cant belive on false promises – One of the sales person gives a promise to get the product delivered on next day morning, no one calls for a week we call them back they say some other date.. its almost 3-4 weeks we are still waiting for our product god knows will it come or not. asked the money to get refunded they want to deduct 20% off not reliable bad customer service, false promises
Terrible – I bought a lounge of oz design and it's waulity for the price was disgusting. It was supppose to be fabric protected, however when water was spilt and then wiped up, it seeped through the fabric and left a stain. I don't think water is suppose to do that. Will never by from oz design again! Size Fabirc was proteted, but water stained
Did you receive a guarantee with your fabric protection?
If it was just water spilled then it would be covered for repair under that guarantee...
Terrible – Need to fix their customer services. Need to be trained in customer services. Need to be more friendlier manner, and need some people skill. I would not recommend anyone to purchase anything from OZ design. The customer services is the worst. Not a customer oriented store. Nunawading, Victoria store manager-not at all helpful. Very DISSAPPOINTED!!!
Terrible – At only $2000 this couch seemed like a bargain. It looked great and came with an ottoman that could be joined with the couch to make a spare bed. Unfortunately though, after about 6 months the foam started to loose its shape and now after two years it is just flat with no cushion left at all and you can't replace it easily. The micro suede has… Read more
gone shiny and it stains very easily. Even just water leaves stains. I purchased alot of furniture from oz design and in my opinion i don't think anyone should buy furniture from oz design. You would be better to buy stuff from fantastic as it is cheaper and just as good quality. comfy when new, looks pretty nice foam is really bad quality and doesn't last at all, micro suede stains very easily.
Terrible – Do yourself a favor and check over the display item and see like the ones at they deliver they are poorly finished, built on the cheap and not quite right. This goes for all their items. I would be unhappy if I bought the product at super A mart prices, but write it off to cheap production, but expect more at this price point. I was incensed by… Read more
the OZ design response. We do not return items that are faulty if the floor stock is! Shop is air conditioned? Terrible customer service and poor build quality.
Terrible – Wanted to buy an item, it was not in stock, they gave me display. I ask for a discount as I was getting used item, gave me no discount. Called head office their response was it depends on the store manager, I ask for what the guidelines were, they couldn't help me. I GUESS IT DEPENDS ON THEIR BAD BAD MOOD. Bad bad customer services, even head office services is not up2 standered.
Terrible – - Poor quality - Terrible customer service - Terrible attitude towards faulty product and replacement/repair - An unproffessional furniture store. How unfortunate for them, I have a whole new house to furnish and I wont be spending a cent more at OZ Design. At first, a reasonably priced sofa, BUT... One of the pieces of my NEW $4,000 sofa is… Read more
faulty. When you sit down on it there is a squeaky noise unlike the other pieces of my lounge. I first called "customer service" a fews days after delivery, heard NOTHING for a week, called back and was told "sorry I changed roles so things have been busy", then I had to chase with 3 other calls that week only to be told that the person that needs to approve the collection of my faulty sofa is off sick and that NO ONE ELSE had the authority to authorise a driver collecting the one piece of my lounge that was faulty and that I had to wait until the sick person returned to work. Several days later and after the numerous calls to "customer service", I was told "our sofa's have no springs" i.e. so it can't be making such a noise, being told "we'll send someone to your house it takes our guys 5 minutes to fix the sofa's" to "we'll need someone to collect it" and it finally being collected in the middle of the day on a Monday (so of course, you must take time off work for this)...its been ONE WEEK and I still haven't heard a thing. So its a month since it was originally delivered and I still dont have a complete sofa. The attitude and so called "customer service" is appalling. Here's for hoping I have it back before Christmas.
Terrible – My recent experience with the Oz Design shop in Fortitude Valley was so awful that I advise anybody considering buying from them to take your money elsewhere. The standard of customer service I received from their staff was as bad as I have ever experienced. I selected and paid for my sofa more than two weeks ago. Today I received a call… Read more
telling me that in fact that product was never available. I draw three conclusions from this:
1) Taking my money for a product that I am never going to receive is not an acceptable way to do business.
2) Keeping hold of my money for more than two weeks before finally admitting the truth about the product not existing is also completely unacceptable.
3) The manager attempting to blame unspecified "suppliers" for his shop's abject standard of service is a spineless way to respond to a customer's concerns. If your suppliers are so unreliable, why are they still your suppliers?
I suggest to everybody who reads this review: save yourself the nightmare and don't go anywhere near Oz Design, there are plenty of alternative sofa retailers who are better managed and who provide a superior service to their customers.
Bad – Definitely nice suites Italian leather yes, but made in China. Gascoigne Leather NSW had a wider range, similar suite, and no splits on the back! I saved nearly $1500 by buying a Gascoigne. A nice suite it definitely is. Very modern lines. Split leather used on the back of the suite. (thats the back of the cow hide, the cheap part)
