Ozito DSR-2000

Very usefull – It's a good little unit but I have found that the hook and loop pad wears out a lot quicker than I thought it should. If Ozito can work on that issue then it would be a great little power tool

Doesn't sand! Do not buy! – This sander did not work out of the box. The sanding pads do not stay on the sander from the beginning, it can't be used as a sander. It is total rubbish and a waste of money.

disappointing – This was working very well and I was super pleased with it. However, after about 4 hours use the sanding pads would no longer stick and I discover I have to pay $12 for a new one! This is becoming a very expensive mission to do up a bit of old furniture. I might take it back.

Doesn't deserve one star – I bought the second cheapest model with the intention of fixing up some old chairs and would've been content if it only lasted that long, but I took it back to the store within hours. The sanding pads attach to the base plate via hook & loop (velcro) which wasn't 100% effective on the very first use and rapidly became 100% ineffective. Gravity was enough for the pads to fall off. Although the unit comes with a 3 year warranty, I was told that the base plate is excluded due to the fact that you can buy it seperately as a spare part. WHAT???? Instead of improving, fixing or replacing a fault, they SELL you the part to fix it yourself so that they have no liability. I'm glad Boeing don't have this policy. Luckily, the Bunnings staffmember had the common sense to see that the unit was "dead on arrival". It may also have had something to do with the crowd of customers listenning to an increasingly irritated customer copping a "3 hours, too bad, too sad" story. I had a second look at the range of sanders. The other brands use nice, meaty velcro while this model uses stuff you can hardly feel. I exchanged the Ozito for the cheapest brand and got change to buy some tennis balls for the dogs which also lasted hours, but that was expected. 5 stars to Bunnings 0 stars to Ozito
Returned 2 in 2 weeks for a refund – Purchased one from Bunnings for a DIY project ended up going back for a second to speed along the sanding with hubby and 1. The first sander was working fine and comes with a fair bit of sand paper however starts to wear down the Velcro within 10 hours of sanding. The second sander didn’t last one use as the sandpaper vibrated off the Velcro didn’t stick. They were Velcro attached only unlike the hook system as advertised on the box. I called Bunnings and as I had them less then 2 weeks they refunded other then making a warranty claim. Went with the ryobi sander which finished the job. Steer clear of this sander or half way through your project you’ll be seeking a refund! Even the Bunnings guy said there shithouse.
