On the cover of the Operating Instructions it says High Definition, but I am unable to access any of the HD channels. As Channel 2 and 7 are soon broadcasting in HD only, I would like to know how to access the HD channels.

When recording two programs unit can not be switched to another channel but returns to one of the channels being recorded. This has just happened as I have always been able to watch one channel and record two others. Any

Hi CDG, the DMR-XW480 has a twin tuner, so you are only able to view/ record two different programs at the one time. To be able to view/ record 3 you would need a product with 3 tuners, which Panasonic do have available. Alternatively you would be able to view a third channel via your TV's tuner while recording two shows on your DMR-XW480.
No. Same thing has always happened to me. Try calling technical assistance at Panasonic.
Sorry this is never been possible you can only watch another show if you taped it. The unit has only two recievers so if you tape two thats it. You cant watch another one from the tv live, but you can watch one you taped.

My husband has somehow pushed a button that has put a clock icon on the screen of the player and now we can't use the remote to turn it off or on. I can't find the answer in the manual. Any help?
sounds like you pressed a info button on the TV. so the time might be a tv screen. Press it again. Otherwise hit the return button
I recorded a program yesterday. Although it ended and had stopped recording it still shows as recording in the record menu. It won't let me delete with red button and won't let me stop or edit timing. It isn't recording but is stopping me recording 2 programs now.

wow sounds bad, try looking at a tv program then press and hold the stop button (it should say do you want to stop recording). Go to the program check button above the fast forward button. The menu there should be all your next to record and those that are recording see if you can cancel from there. If all not working try unplugging the thing... good luck

If i connect my XW-480 to the internet can I download Netflix directly to the unit?
If you open the internet interface on the unit you should be able to see some preinstalled apps from the Panasonic Viera app market, and you'll be able to search for Netflix there. I never installed it myself but I assume if you can find it, you can install it. Hope this helps.
I meant to say that Netflix is in the Viera market, though it's claimed to be compatible only with units released 2012 or later. I'm not sure what year the 380/480 came out but you could give it a try.
