Avoid this company or be careful. I'd give them 0 stars if I could – We began a long tiresome process with Patios Coast2Coast around 11 May 2020. The "owner" indicated they were able to install 1 single length outer beam so we felt this was the best option when comparing with the competitors. week and was told a 4-6 week delay for the install of our pergola / carport, which was fine for us. An on the spot $2,000 deposit seemed excessive and a risk but we paid it as the on-line reviews were all very positive. O, and the price he quoted over the phone increased by $300 on the contract but when I pointed this out, he said "no I always quoted that (higher) price and I was mistaken" - (I must have accidentally jotted down the wrong price). By late June, after numerous aggressive calls between the "owner" and myself, where he tried to intimidate me, I tried getting my deposit back. However, he stated "the materials are already in the companies yard", so I couldn't get it back". We waited and finally the pergola was erected on 17 Aug 2020 (about 14 weeks later) as "the skylights fell off the boat and he couldn't do the job without them". When his brother was finally installing our outer beam, I questioned why we got 2 beams. He stated that if we wanted 1 beam, "it would still be in the paint shop being powder coated and further delays would have occurred". The finished product seemed OK, except 1 structural post is not cemented into the ground. It's bolted to my sleeper garden wall so hopefully the roof won't blow away. I thanked the company in writing for a good job. I had ordered more material back at the beginning of our relationship which was delivered with the pergola. I installed a smaller roof myself and needed a few more pieces of material (flashing / guttering - easily sourced I would hope). I text'd and emailed the owner to order me this extra material around 27/8/20 then I waited. After waiting almost a week, I ordered the same material from Hancock Speedway with a 3 day delivery expected, $150 order. Just after leaving Hancock's, Patios Coast2Coast, ironically, the owner returned my call with apologies for not getting back to me earlier but their had been medical family issues. So I immediately put a hold on Hancock's material order hoping the material from Patios Coast2 Coast would exactly match the rest of my new roof. I waited again and sent follow-up text messages asking when we may get our material. Finally I "spat it", sending a cancellation text on 18/9/20 (22 days), immediately followed by another 7.41am aggressive phone call from the owner, another "we have already paid for the material, (why would a company prepay a small order from their supplier - to get a better service I was told), am I an engineer, stating do I know anything about wind ratings and 2 beams are stronger (yeah right), and I am doing you a favour ordering the material excuses". Then a text abusing me.

How can a family operated business with glowing reviews continuously frustrate us? How can an owner regularly call and speak aggressively trying to intimidate the customer. Use them at your own risk.
