Pentair Freeflo 25RP Pool Chlorinator
MPN: FFCL-25-RP2 reviews
Not what I hoped it to be – Purchased in March 2020 via an online store after seeking their recommendation and the description on their website. The unit was simple to install and setup, and for the last 3 years has been without issue. The "headlines" describing the unit say 5 yr warranty when in fact the warranty is broken into two portions, 3yr for the system as a whole, and a further 2yrs on the cell. Wish I had read the fine print. After 3 years 3 months the timer stopped keeping time and contact was made with the manufacturer asking them to consider a replacement on good will. Pentair agreed, so I cant fault them in that respect. While the system has been good, the failure of the timer so soon is a big let down. If I have to keep buying replacement OEM timers at $300 ea and electricians to replace the timer $270, it works out to be quite an expensive buy. I think if there are others available to you, look at them before considering the Pentair
Purchased in for $849.
Good on the warranty and working fine. However it produces less chlorine than expected – Pentair Freeflo 25RP seems a good product. However Pentair falls a bit short to produce chlorine. Compared to my former AquaJoy 25. It is a bit of a struggle to keep the chlorine up. Tips * Run the chlorinator at 80% power * Use a pool cover to protect the chlorine from UV * Add Cyanuric Acid up to the higher bracket * Keep salt level always above 4000 ppm * Run the pump and chlorinator for 4-6 hours every day The chlorine builds slowly at the beginning of the summer. My advise is to add some liquid chlorine just to help.
The cell doesn't accumulate calcium like old model. That's a good thing.
Purchased for $790.
