Hate the new recipe Ironically tastes even sweeter now with artificial sweeteners added Gives me a headache I'd always choose pepsi over coke Loved the taste before it changed So classic pepsi now is essentially same as Pepsi Max. Which I can't stand taste I've switched back to classic coca cola

So sneaky! I detected the artificial sweeteners through the bitter taste the first time I drank it after believing it was non-Diet Pepsi. People who drink diet drinks put up with this taste in the misguided hope they are losing weight, but I am not one of those! Even after tipping the entire drink down the sink at my local RSL, and rinsing and… Read more

refilling the can with water I could STILL taste the Diet chemicals!

How are PepsiCo legally able to add health-damaging diet sweeteners 950 and 955 to this drink and NOT be required to advertise it as DIET??? I wrote about this deception to the Chief Marketing Officer Alessia Taddei at PepsiCo ANZ directly (see photos), but of course I was ignored.

What happened to the taste of Pepsi it’s horrible!!! After having a glass…I googled “has Pepsi changed the recipe” and yes they have. If I wanted to drink a less sugary drink I’d drink Pepsi max witch taste like awful. I loved Pepsi not anymore. Show details

New formula is awful. Tastes terrible, and I seem to be sensitive/allergic to it because it causes physical symptoms. Seems like I'm not the only one. When I reached out to Pepsi after noticing something had changed, and I was getting physically sick every time I consumed it they lied to me and said the formula hadn't changed. Two months later it… Read more

is officially announced. Poor form - you should be transparent with your consumers. Unless it changes back to the full sugar I am done with Pepsi. I've drunk it daily for 25 years, but the 'new' Pepsi is truly gross. It does NOT taste the same, and I've not seen one person has said they like it. Pepsi listen to your consumers - bring back the old formula, and lets move on from this giant mistake.

I rarely drink soda these days but I was horrified to see on a bottle of 600mL Pepsi that you are now replacing part of the sugar with disgusting artificial sweeteners. I stopped drinking Sprite, Fanta and Lift because they swapped out sugar for chemicals. Now you have followed the same path. Guess I'll never be drinking Pepsi again. And no, we… Read more

did not ask for this. If we wanted a diet drink we'd drink Pepsi Max. You should rebrand Pepsi to Pesi-Lo or Pepsi Half Max. It is deceitful to still sell it under the identical label now that noticeable changes have been made to the recipe.

Nasty taste and sort of a drying effect in mouth. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Maybe ok with alcoholic drinks. Wonder which genius dreamt up this change. Classic coke for me now Show details

Less than 1 star, I thought I was coming down with something as after drinking a glass of Pepsi my face felt all tingly and it left a bad after taste in my mouth so I poured out the bottle and got another and it tasted perfect, so I go and get the other bottle out of the recycling to compare the 2 bottles and the foil tasting bottle has artificial… Read more

sweetener 950 & 951.

Dear Pepsi please return to the full sugar recipe as if I choose to have a low sugar or artificially sweetened drink(which I will Never choose by choice ever) as I feel this decision has been forced on to the Pepsi drinking consumers.

Contacted Pepsi and got just plain boiler plate response about how the consumer asked for it to be changed (I’m called B*S Pepsi) judging by the outrage from your consumers and now former consumers we never asked for it to be anything but full sugar.

Pepsi drinkers look out for the health stars 0.5 stars is full sugar and the 1.5 stars is the artificial sweetener

Dear Leslie Thank you for your email. We have reduced the sugar content in response to consumers paying more attention to their health and therefore looking for products with less sugar. To meet consumer demand, we've developed products with low-calorie sweeteners and lower sugar whilst maintaining the same great taste. These ingredients and nutritional information are shown on the label and are following the guidelines of the ANZ Food Standards Code Thank you once again for your feedback Regards Pepsi customer consumer representative

Would quite honestly give zero stars if i could. I've been a long time lover of pepsi, preferring it to coke. I buy a 30 pack of cans every week which i share with a sibling. We got our usual purchase yesterday, and opened a can today and it tastes absolutely disgusting. Was completely confused until i checked the ingredients and found they've… Read more

replaced part of the sugar content with SWEETENER.

If i wanted to drink sweetener, i would have got a sugar free drink. The whole point of the full sugar version is that there is NO sweeteners. Not only do i find that every single sweetener tastes absolutely disgusting and leaves a horrible after taste no matter which one is used, it was lucky i was the one to drink it, as my sibling can't have sweetener at all without getting sick.

Absolutely fuming.

Will never buy another pepsi product.

I used to love pepis. But all of a sudden the taste is different, and there is a weird after taste that hangs around and a sick feeling in my stomach.

You already have pepsi max and as already a long standing Original Pepsi drinker of over 15yrs I will no longer be buying any pepsi co drinks as I should be able to have full sugar options. You are not not ever were a 'health' drink so why are you hunting for the status? You have as stated above pepsi max for the people who choose to abstain… Read more

from sugar or cannot have sugar, leave our Original soft drinks alone and remember that you are not a health food company and should not treat your products as such

It is a disgrace to have a company tell me how much I can have of something, in this case sugar.

Guess I am now going to stick with your competitors

Not what it used to be!! – If you go back a decade or more, Pepsi used to be the best soft drink you could get!!! Nowadays, it ranges from tasting like chemicals are in it to tasting old and out of date to the one which is my favorite as it happens the most, Is that every single Pepsi nowadays ARE FLAT!!!! Thanks Pepsi!! I would pay $10 for a real Pepsi that wasn't some… Read more

ZERO stars… – I don’t drink soft drinks often but when I do get an urge I go for full sugar drink because I absolutely can’t stand the awful aftertaste artificial sweetners leave. I never really minded Pepsi but recently I bought a Pepsi & it tasted disgusting. I actually checked the use by date because I thought the shop sold me an old out of date can which… Read more

had gone off. Nope, date was fine. I took another sip just to be sure & the rest went down the sink.

I googled & sure enough, recipe has changed. If I wanted a low sugar/artificial sugar soft drink, I’d buy one. When I buy a regular soft drink I expect it to have real sugar.

It’s a simple fix though, my occasional soft drink will now be coke.

Pepsi people are rude – Bought 7-15 packs of pepsi zero sugar,( have been drinking this for years), had to pour all of them down the drain, they were all flat. Called pepsi, they sent me coupons for 4 free 12 pks, and then 3 free 24 pks, but what good does that do. There is only the 15 pks available in this area. Called pepsi back, they were rude. Suits me fine, informed… Read more

Far preferable to Coke – While my favourite is Pepsi Max, sometimes i purchase Pepsi. It tastes nicer than Coca Cola, which I have gone off. The 1.25 litre bottles are better value than the two litre bottles as the latter lose their CO2 if one doesn't drink the contents quickly.

OK – Pepsi is great to drink when you want something with the great cola taste without having to search for one, this one is guaranteed to taste the way you expect it to be. a bit less fizzy than Coke. Pepsi has been around for so many years and still has the same sweet flavour it has before. This is a great refreshing cola drink which I can have anytime I want something fizzy and tasty. I dont buy this one often because its full of sugar and have heard that these soft drinks arent the healthiest.
