Shaved pretty well for three months until the "rechargeable" battery died – Critically flawed. I received this as a gift two years ago, but only unboxed it six months ago as my old Philishave XL 82xx served me well for many years with only one heads and blade change in over five years, as had the Philishave I had before it. It worked pretty comparably to my old unit for three months until I went overseas without it… Read more

for a month. When I came back the unit was stone dead, and would not charge. A $50 replacement cradle and cable confirmed what many online reviews and the shop assistant at the shaver shop said, namely that the Sensotouch 3D range is renowned for models which suddenly stop charging and effectively become expensive doorstops. Despite being in mint condition, the unit is also out of warranty

Can't comment on performance much more than that, although I will say that the cheap plastic cradle that you need in addition to the power adaptor and cable seems utterly unnecessary and in my case, meant I couldn't use any of my old philishave chargers to test my faulty unit, nor take advantage of my existing accessories such as a car charger.

Next stop... Braun series 9.

disappointing – Purchased this shaver in 2012 from the shaver shop as I wanted a shaver I could use in the shower and one I could also use as a trimmer. Was reluctant at first because of the high price but went back later that day and bought it. At first I must say I was very impressed, but about 4 months ago it started to die. It would only turn on whenever it… Read more

felt like it and only charge to half its capacity. Now it will only hold twenty minutes charge and, when it does feel like working, that 20 minutes charge it holds will finish in about three minutes. If I hadnt paid so much for this shaver I could understand it only lasting two and a half years, but after spending close to $500 on this product I would expect it to last a lot longer than that. Very disappointing Phillips, I expected a lot more from such an expensive item.

Shaver head is an absolutel failure – I shave only 3 times a week and the shaver head is blund within 2 months. 2 MONTHS!!!!!! And the replacement head is $150+ Bought it thinking this one would last but 2 months and it was blund again. Shaving takes so long and I can go over a patch on my face for 30seconds and still it won't be a clean shave. It's a complete joke Philips shavers… Read more

are an absolute rip off. They specifically make the heads and blades with cheap materials so you have to replace them regularly. They do it to make more money while you get screwed. Most of these reviews just review it after they first use it but trust me, after you use it for a little bit the thing becomes useless unless you fork out $150 for a new shaver head every 2 months.
