Pioneer DEH-2750MP 50W Car CD Tuner

Good – This unit has served me well. It was installed about the same time I bought my car. There is plently of features on this unit, I do not recall any Bluetooth conectivity. The unit performs fairly well, it can play CDRs but I have problems playing mp3s on CDRWs. The other issues with Pioneer units is you cant control your auto anthena to retract when you off your unit. means you have to disconnect if you want to go for a auto wash. Or do a seperate switch to lower the anthena. Otherwise the unit has done pretty well. Reasonable priced, plays mp3s, good enough for any average user. does not allow anthena to power down when you off the radio
Excellent – This reviewer is a 58 year-old with less than 20-20 vision, who drives an oldish Nissan pickup with a very firm suspension on some dodgy NSW roads. That said, I haven't yet been able to make this CD player skip, on CD, MP3 or WMA files. And although the manual says it won't play mp3pro files, I have had no trouble at all with mp3pro files created by the Nero set of programs. The unit also supports IDv3 tags (mp3 file data labels), but they must be correctly formatted to display properly. As you'd expect.
That alone would be enough to make me quite happy with a name-brand CD deck costing just a smidge over $200.
But there's more.
The tuner is good, and station seeking and storing is fuss-free. And as an AM listener also, I am pleased to find that AM reception is also quite good.
Sound quality is excellent, and there is plenty of power for the average user, with lots of bass and treble adjustment, and a number of quick equaliser presets if you can't be bothered.
The clear, high contrast layout means I don't have to look down away from the road for long to make adjustments. The volume controls, thankfully, are big, separate up and down buttons clearly marked, not the totally stupid, round, 4-way multi-function "pseudo knob" found on so many of todays radios. (What's that about, anyway?) Trying to hit just the right spot on one of those things while bouncing around in a small truck is a frustrating experience. Trust me on this...
The backlighting at night is clear also. The unit, mercifully, lacks multicoloured fashing "poker machine" lights.
This is not a radio for the kind of driver who likes the bass to be heard before his car is visible. (It does have line out, though...) There are nowhere near enough different coloured, flashing lights, and let's face it, it simply doesn't LOOK cool.
But for the rest of us, I give it 9.5 out of 10. It only loses points (in my opinion) for the too-short display and the lack of a line in socket for my minidisc.
It has, of course, a clock. (What doesn't?) Which is very simple to set.
RRP is $300-plus, but I picked mine up for $229, and you might beat that by looking around.
Good quality sound, good receiver, stable CD playback, very clear layout, clear backlighting, no gimmicks.
I Haven't found anything "bad" about this unit.
I Would have liked a line input for aux, minidisc, whatever.
I Would have liked a display with more characters for track ID.
