Proton VPN

Absolute trash, free is more reliable, paid is garbage connection failed regularly. Connection is better on the free servers, scumbags. Paid is a few minutes to at most an hour before connection fails, worked ok for 6 months, last 9 months absolute trash, support zero help, dishonourable scumbags, avoid like the plague. This company should not be allowed to operate ion Australia. Damn you morons.
Changed from Surf Shark as Proton had good reviews overseas. Well what a mistake that was. Useless piece of crap. Very slow in my own country much less offshore. Might have to dump it and go back to Surf Shark but I'll be too much out of pocket. I'll give it a few more days but atm its near on useless jumping between 0 and 3-400kb/s.
After having downloaded a paid version of virtual private network software from Proton VPN I found it not to work as claimed. It failed to connect to multiple off-shore servers, or "bounce" one's IP address multiple times in order to anonymise it. I contacted the Proton software company, who failed to respond in any way, which indicated to me their total lack of appropriate—or any—customer service.
I advised them that under their 30-day refund policy that I wished to make a claim for the monies I had paid them, but once again, they failed to make any contact with me, and also failed to honour their warranty. I raised a case with PayPal, but was refused a refund due to the apparent false information provided to PayPal by Proton VPN.
As a result of this scenario, I believe that Proton VPN is operating an on-line scam, and I can only advise potential purchasers of this software to avoid paying for and/or downloading any of the bogus software.
So far, so great – I switched to Proton VPN recently, after the VPN provider I had been using for years (Express VPN) vanished, taking my (and other peoples) money with them. After years of repeated annoyance with Express VPN's software, and trying about 10 other companies, only to find a lack of decent servers in Australia, or New Zealand, or other issues with them (thankfully they all had trial periods), I tried Proton. I have been very happy with Proton so far, they tick all of the boxes, the software is very easy, quick, and works well, it even has an auto select best server feature, that I use, speeds are good, and pricing is very competitive.
The marketing online of VPNs is transparently dodgy, the vast majority of vpn review sites are very clearly just shilling, and the companies who are the largest, have just managed their marketing the best $$$.
