Excellent radio! – 5/5 for sound and ease of use! Sad they have stopped making it! YES the plastic case becomes sticky after a couple of years but is totally fixed with metho and is now as shiny as new and still going strong 7+ years later!

Very disappointed – Radio is great how ever case becomes sticky leaving radio in usable. Expensive item for this to happen. Will end up In land fill now. Very very disappointing. Seems I am not the only one  Show details

Great Radio but case becomes sticky – The stereo speakers and bass control make this Pure DAB Radio a winner .... almost. I bought two of them and both black cases are like a soft rubber substance. However, like others have stated, the rubber becomes very sticky over time. Doesn’t matter how you try to remove the stickiness, it just won’t go away. Clearly Pure have not tested their product completely. Despite this sticky situation, the actual radio sound is brilliant! Show details

Great dab radio - easy to restore dab stations – Was very upset when a message appeared on my radio saying upgrade required and Dab stations were lost. I went on line and after a bit of searching discovered how to fix it. Log on to a windows pc then go to <upgrades.pure.com>. Plug in phone to pc with appropriate cable, USB port to small phone port, put in serial number on back of radio on… Read more

barcode and follow instructions. It worked and I have my dab stations back. Am overjoyed!! If I can do this anyone can. I am not computer savvy but found instructions easy to follow - don’t rush the process. Thanks Pure for the new software - radio will be fine for a few more years now

Case faulty – I have had exactly the same problem with the case on my Pure One Elite unit. The case gradually seemed to degrade and become sticky overtime. It has never been exposed to extreme heat or chemicals. Now the LCD display has failed and so am unable to see any information on the screen! This is unfortunate as it has been an otherwise great unit with… Read more

clarity of sound and good features. I thought I would get better longevity and quality from an expensive device.

PURE Elite One Case – I have own and used this radio for past few years in my work shop with no exposure to grease or UV. The black case has become very sticky and unpleasant to touch over time. Numerous reports about this same issue on various forums. Can partially remove the stickiness with Meth Spirits etc but not 100% job in removing it all. The hard black case… Read more

still has a lot on imperfections and the sticky coating cant be totally removed. For an expensive DAB radio PURE have not provided a very good case. I can't recommend this product.

too smart for it's own good – Have owned this for 18 months, no problems until last week. Radio gives me a message on the screen that it requires and upgrade. This can only be done via a Windows computer to download and install the upgrade via a usb cable. I am all Apple but i borrow one. And it requires you input the radio serial number into the Pure Upgrade website, so it… Read more

can choose your upgrade.

OK.

Except it won't accept my serial number. Tried many times.

I am in contact with Pure in the UK to see what they suggest, but the process is ridiculous, as the radio has simply stopped working and won't again until it gets its upgrade.

My adive: get a Sangean. Better value but not as pretty, and no stupid failures.

One of the better DAB+ radios – This radio has some great features that are sadly lacking on most DAB radios available today. The time-shifting function is by far the best feature, allowing you to rewind live radio up to 15 minutes. The reason I don't give this review 5 stars, is because in my opinion, the sound quality isn't great. Yes it is stereo (another feature strangely… Read more

lacking from a lot of DAB radios), but the sound really isn't that crisp when listening to music. I'm not saying the sound quality is particularly "bad", but I've heard much better sound coming from PC speakers which are of similar size.

Overall, a great radio for talk-back, but if you listen to a lot of music and like good quality sound, I wouldn't recommend it.

Good Solid Sound! – Good Solid Sound: Pause, Rewind Buffer and. for me the icing on the cake has to be the 'Listen Later' Programmable Feature which gives me using ABC Jazztrack about an hour and a half of recorded music to playback later - The Radio can be programmed for any station any time to record 'Listen Later' and needs not be on but on stand by i.e. set off but on at the wall: A fantastic feature!

Excellent – As a kitchen radio to update a 20 year old radio/cassette player the Pure One Elite has certainly met all my expectations. The sound quality of DAB+ is worth the upgrade, and I recommend the extra investment to get two speaker stereo that this model provides. I selected this brand and model because I wanted stereo DAB+ sound at a minimal price. … Read more ·  1

After much research I found the Pure One Elite at JB HiFi for $165. Many of the cheaper alternatives are mono only, unless using headphones. As a kitchen radio it is the perfect size (not too big) and provides wonderful sound quality. Signal strength from all stations (there are 35 to choose from) is excellent. I have found the functions easy to use. Rewind is a great feature. Readout is a little small and lights up for only a short time. There is no output to plug into other hifi equipment. It remains to be seen how well the rubbery coat of the case will last, including how well stains will clean.

Great sounding kitchen radio – One of the few models that offer stereo two speaker configuration. Sound quality is excellent for the size of this radio, probably also due to the adjustable Bass & Treble control.Easy to use once station presets are set and nice solid feel rubberised case. All controls and display are on the front, an easily seen and accessible if in a shelf or… Read more

on top of the fridge in the kitchen. This is one of the few models that can pause rewind live radio even though I have not tried it out. AM radio is so clear without the interference and noise.FM radio sounds the same. Sound quality and ease of use. Need to get used to the menu system, but once set up it's easy to use. Why are these things so damned expensive?
