Pyrex lids are a SCAM – Pyrex Glass Storage lids are made out of poor quality plastic that becomes brittle over time, and breaks and chips easily. They also absorb odours which can cross-contaminate food and promote the growth of harmful bacteria. The cost of replacement lids is very high. For years I have been waiting for Pyrex to fix this well-known, ongoing problem,… Read more

and finally decided to switch to other brands that have a cheaper price and superior quality. Do not recommend Pyrex.

Pyrex Glass Container with lid – I bought a few different kind of Pyrex glass storage, very disappointed with the lid. They were crack easily like crackers. I attached some photos of them. I can't use them anymore because my intention to buy was using them with the lid , store them in the fridge, all wasted.I know they sell the lid for replacement but I will waste more money if… Read more

buying them because I will keep buying because of the bad quality., I would rather not use them anymore and stop buying this products. I think the factory get advantage getting more profit from selling more lids than the glass container, because most people might think better to buy replacement lid rather than can't be used without lid. I would not recommend these products.

Waste of money – I have about 30 in different sizes bought over the years. Some I have had some from about 10 years ago and the lids lasted longer, this must have been before they stopped using BPA. Now the lids just crack and spit within months. I don't use in microwave, just in freezer. If you just use in fridge they may last longer. You can buy extra lids but… Read more

i would be buying them every other week. Glass is excellent. I use in oven, freezer and airfryer. But glass is glass.

Dont waste your money – Lids break. After a few month. Also had a rectangular casserole break while it was in the oven. I don't put the lids in the dishwasher or the microwave. Snap edges on the snap down lids also break off. I now use wax wraps to cover my remaining glass containers.

Glass containers are excellent but the lids are of poor quality and damage easily – I have used Pyrex products for 55 years and love the clear glass bowls and my collector's item coloured bowls with glass lids. However, the blue plastic lids are useless and need to be made of different plastic. They are expensive to replace and I have given up, preferring to use a plate or a frilly plastic cover which work well.

Lids Break Easily – Lids break very easily and are expensive to replace, only to break again. Would have expected quality but didn’t get it. It’s time to take a serious look at replacing lids supplied.

The lids are bad quality – The glass containers are great but the lids are really poor quality. Mine all got ruined pretty quickly - and I wash by hands plus I don’t use the microwave. I wish there was an easier system to get replacements or, better, they were made to last longer Show details

Love the Storage containers but the lids just keep decreasing in value! Cheap poor quality lids – Actually LOVE these and used to have the blue lids for my glass bowls and rectangular storage pieces, but had to replace at Pyrex outlet with White lids and that plastic is cheap and gets brittle too quickly. The old blue lids lasted longer were more rubber like and not so easily broken after just a few uses. I'm shopping on line now for… Read more

replacement lids - my current set only lasted about a year whereas the originals lasted 10 years and the ones after that about 5 years - now we're down to super cheap lids that only last a year!!!

Pyrex Glass Storage - Lids of Poor Quality materials - make them useless – I have purchased about all different shapes of Pyrex Glass Storage containers for food storage (Hot or Cold), they are good but the Lids are made out of poor quality Plastics that become brittle over time. Pyrex do not supply the replacement Lids to their distributors or retailers. Some upmarket replacement lids available but they are almost half… Read more

Useful and durable – I use their glass cooking bowls alot for things like keeping chopped onions or tomatoes next to the pan on the stove. They are very useful and unlike the plastic ones don't keep the smells on them. I particularly like the items in their watercolour range which seem to have become collectors items now. Would recommend.

Love, Love, Love – I often catch myself thinking about just how much I love my Pyrex Glass Storage. I know that sounds ridiculous and fluffed up, but I really do. When I moved out of my family home, I treated myself to a set of the round glass bowls with the blue lids. We had this draw back at home, which always made me anxious and frustrated. You know the one. It… Read more

was full of plastic containers - all different sizes, shapes, colours, spaghetti stained and some permanently slicked with a little grease. Oh and forget about finding the right lid.

I have had my glass set of Pyrex for two years now. The glass bowls looks as spic and span as the day I bought them and the lids, although a little dried and cracked, still work just fine. I've put these babies through the ringer. They've been frozen, heated and visit the dishwasher after every use. Also, they have never once leaked in my handbag.

You know what... I am about to move again and I can't think of a better self-house-warming-gift.

5 stars for the glass, 1 for the lid – If only the lids lasted half as long as the bowls themselves. The lids are just not durable, they crack and fail after only a tiny fraction of the bowl's life. Seems such a waste to resort to cling-wrap, or worse to throw the whole lot out, when the lids fail. I now have some Decor glass containers, the lids seem a lot more durable - here's hoping... Show details

Safe to use in Microwave ! – I use both the Pyrex Glass storage and the plastic ones. But I always use the pyrex glass containers to re heat food in microwave as I read that there are possibly some harmful effects of using the plastic containers. They are easy to wash as well and do not get stained either like plastic ones.  Show details

Lids will fail, but replacement available in Sydney – I have every size that Pyrex make in these storage containers. They have never been near the microwave, nor do I use a dishwasher, yet the lids break and will not seal. Even worse, replacement lids seem to be unavailable within Australia, and the only source I can find is to import them from the US at an unrealistic price. Very disappointed. I… Read more

am adding an update to my review. Only in the last few months have the agents for Pyrex imported replacement lids which are readily available in Sydney, Australia. Agents address is:

They also stock a comprehensive range of Pyrex and Corelle products. A store worth visiting.

Bad lids – I have bought both the round and rectangle ones of these so I could eliminate storing and cooking in plastic. It says they're microwave save but you only have to use them once before they're totally useless. The round one, even when you have the lid sitting loosely on top form a suction and the lid ends up concave and will no long seal. The… Read more

rectangle lids warp and split which also means they no longer seal. I bought these primarily to take leftovers for work but will now look at the decor brand as their lids seem to be far better and have steam release valves which means the lids won't warp like these ones. They've never been in a dishwasher as I don't have one. My daughter also had the same problem with hers. Very disappointing product from a previously reputable brand.

Perfect! – What I really like about this product is its design. Since the containers are made from glass, not plastic, they can be safely used when you're reheating using a microwave. They're also easier to cleaner compared to plastic containers.  Show details

Great healthy storage containers – These are really versatile storage containers. I love that they don't stain when tomato based foods are kept in them. I've never had a problem with them absorbing smells either. They are really strong - I've never chipped any, and they get treated pretty roughly in this house. Pyrex make great quality products. Strong, environmentally friendly food storage Heavy and can be difficult to store if you have a mixture of shapes.

versatile and strong – These storage containers are great, because they are made from glass and not plastic, they are healthier to use in the microwave when reheating or cooking. you can use them to make packet pastas or heat up spaghetti, or leftovers. They also come with an easy to put on and take off lid which does not leak, so you can take your food with you. … Read more

Good – I really like these containers and have always liked Pyrex - there is a reason why our parents and grandparents bought it - it lasts! colour; Cleans up well with steel wool (if something bakes on); Good range of different sizes and often special packs are available where you'll get a few different ones for a better price (try kmart, target, even ALDI did it recently) Heavier than plastic so I don't like to take them out of the house and would need to be careful with kids; Not non-stick but that's expected with glass; Relatively expensive, especially for the small ones

Excellent – This is a great product which gets a lot of usage in my kitchen. I use it nearly daily to keep food in and to serve in as well. various sizes too. Overall, its a great product for food storage, but you just have to be a bit careful because of the glass. This is a lovely storage product. It can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher and it can be used in the microwave too. It is made out of glass, so I think it can be break, so that risk is always there because there are no handles to hold onto.

easier to wash & dry than plastic container too. It's a little heavy, because it's made of glass.

It would have been great if the containers can be stacked up without the lid like tupperwares. so it would not take so much space in the cupboards.

Excellent – I am in love with Pyrex and truly believe they are great value for money. Unlike plastic containers they don't warp after a while or stain or absorb odours. Good – Very happy with these. I prefer to store things in glass. Can put these in the freezer, and dishwasher. Excellent – I recently stopped using plastic takeaway containers and bought 3 square and 3 round pyrex containers with plastic lids. OK – I think its always a good idea to have a few of these pyrex containers in our household. They are easy to clean and definitely would not be bent out of shape after heating one too many times. Good for storing foods that needs to be microwaved. Apparently this is better than heating up food in plastic containers (courtersy of mum's advice). Prone to breakage. Handle with care. Priced higher than plastic containers.

Excellent – I quite like these Pyrex containers. They are very handy and are extremely versatile - they can be microwaved (and the lid doesn't warp or anything like some lids do) and are dishwasher-safe.
