Beautiful shape, low quality, scratches easily – I was excited to purchase two sets of this beautiful Robert Gordon dinner set. Designed in Australia and made in China. The shape and color of the set is lovely. Unfortunately, the quality of the product is low. After only a handful of meals, the plates are marked and scratched from cutlery; I expect this from a cheap and nasty K-Mart-branded dinner set, not a Robert Gordon set. The website states that the set is of superior quality, strongly disagree. The large plates are too high for the dishwasher and need to be hand-washed (not ideal for a busy family) or can be stacked facing backward and on a slant, which wastes a lot of room in the dishwasher. I am not impressed and will never buy or recommend Robert Gordon again.

Hi Mel, I'm very sorry you're not happy with the marking on your plates. These plates are used in restaurants and cafe's around the world and as they are made from high-fired stoneware, they should not scratch easily. Please note, these marks look like nickel marking from cutlery. This is where the cutlery leaves behind a residue on the hard plate, some cutlery is more susceptible to this than others. If this isn't coming off in your normal wash, we recommend a mild abrasive cleaner such as Jif or Eucalyptus oil. We have found the 'Pink Stuff' works fantastic for this cleaning cutlery marks. Please feel free to email us at sales@robertgordonaustralia.com if you need any more assistance.

Thank you for your reply. I am still having the same issues after your advice. I never had an issue with my previous dinner set, nor have I changed my cutlery. I believe the issue is your product.
