This product I rate as number 1 as it does exactly what it said, on my last Bowl clean which I average every 3 months, it got rid of the brown flakes that I was getting on my white sheets. Works well no more mouldy smell in my washing machine – Worked well with my cold water washing machine but used 2 packets. Reasonably priced and says better for the environment. Oh and got my two on special at woolies. Tky Magic Elsie Show details

Disappointment – Magic Anti0-bacterial washing machine cleaner used for the first time and it put black streaks on white washing only two washes after using it. I don't intend to ever use it again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Show details

So disappointed – I used the magic clean on my brand new 3 month old washing machine . It has ruined my shiny new fisher and paykel front load machine it has dulled all the stainless and now my $1500 washing machine looks second hand ! Handy product to have – I went from a top loader to a Fisher and Paykel front loader washing machine purchased new and noticed a mildew smell in the clothes. Washing Machine Magic, on 60 degrees setting. I used it more than x1 per month, more like once every 2 weeks. Pro's: the doggy/oily smell was replaced with a bubble gum scent. The interior was shiny, I simply wiped out the few dog hairs which were in the rubber on the door, no grease. Very few hairs in the pipe. So overall it cleans well. There are other cleaners that do the same thing, can't compare as haven't tried them - I'm happy with this product so I'll stick with it. Con's: the price, almost $10 it adds up, so when it's on special I stock up.

Didn't work for me! – Have a Fisher & Paykel top loader washing machine with a build up of scum from day to day washing and softener. Used this product as directed but didn't at all meet my expectations of removing the build up. Show details

there was a lot of sludge and dirt left. The product did not totally clean the machine. I had to hand scrub it. I would give it a 5 out of 10.

complete wash and rinse cycle.

As I was expecting lots of dirty water to be pumped out I collected the wash cycle water and it was a clear as a bell, as was the rinse water, and the filter had nothing in it either. There was just the faintest smell of acid.

I pulled out the water chute, as well as the softener and filter chutes and they were just as grimy as they were before I started, as was the bottom device. That was surprising as I expected that litres of the cleaning solution in water being pumped through these chutes would clean them, but no, I had to use a brush and cloth to clean them after using the Magic Cleaner. I am not prepared to try to dismantle the inner and outer drums to clean them which is why I bought the Magic Cleaner expecting it to do that for me.

I was hoping the "Deep Clean Formulae" would be able to clean parts as the water circulated through them, but I am afraid it was $11 flushed down the laundry tub with nothing to show for the money.

Industrial/Deep Clean version – I know it's time to use this when my washing machine's lint filter stops collecting lint. Once I use this, the lint filter collects big lint loads again, rather than lint remaining on my clothes.

and scrubbing it with soapy steel wool to remove the build up. The build up was underneath it and inside and the SS metal drum looked hazy and I had to give that a scrub with the steel wool too. Maybe this only works to clean the pipes and not the drum of the machine at all? I feel like I wasted my money.

Does a reasonable job but not user-friendly – This product does work well to clean the machine, but in comparison to the other brand available is a lot less user-friendly in powder form, as it doesn't allow parts of the machine to be removed and soaked, and doesn't allow the scrubbing of seals and other components that would otherwise be missed. The scent is not particularly pleasant, but it does a good job of removing soap scum and lime scale

Great product – Used this product for first time due to my front loader washing machine smelling, very impressed, machine looks and smells clean and fresh and my first load of towels came out smelling and looking cleaner, very happy and will use again as recommended on packet, give it a go you have nothing to lose

Just used – I just used this product as I was having Blake flakes come out in my washing. the machine after the initial fill up. I did see coming out of the hose during the first rinse some very dirty water, during the second fill up it was visible that the water inside the machiene was still dirty signifying to me that the product indeed loosened up the grime and build up as promised! The next rinse the water was much much clearer again. And at the end when I went to check the filter there was lots of flakes inside.

However I did a wash just after and there was significantly less flakes, which were lighter in colour and less black, but non the less still flakes.

So I'm disappointed it hasn't 100% fixed my problem - I used the industrial strength so I was expecting it to be completely clean and spotless.

It's clear to see the product has worked to a degree, but I'm still having some residual build up, so I'm conflicted as to how I feel about the end result.

I would say this product would be good for cleaning of the machine in general but in terms of my specific issue (mould or softener build up) it is not 100%.

I will see how the next few washes go and hope for the best.

Terrible smell – I decided to use this product not because my washing machine smelt but because I thought it was a good idea to clean it. Now my $2000 machine smells horrid, just like wet carpet. I would not recommend

Not working as stated – I brought this few days ago because my front loader start having bad door even after I use the Eco drum clean function on the Samsung machine. I called the customer service and they told me to use the normal cotton wash as I am not sure if I should use the drum clean function or not. After using it, it smell tutti fruition without bad door. Amazing!!!!! My Washine Machine is finally clean – My machine had a bad odour, and left flakes in my wash. I heard about this product from a friend and thought i would give it a go. Wow a product that actually works...... Love it. I never thought u would need to clean your washing machine but looks like you do..... Easy to use, does what it should do

Does not work – Well i brought it from coles and put two packs and the black flakes are still appearing again. Its waste of my time and I will not reccommend it .Well i don't have too much more to say but i hope this will get posted and not rejected from the site good packet expensive not worth it

What a great product! – My washing machine started leaving flaky bits on my clothes and i was recommended this product, i was extremely impressed with the outcome.. my washing machine released a lot of dirt from the machine when it rinsed out and now it doesn't leave these flaky bits anymore. It works
