Dangerous and waste of money – We bought this kettle about 2 years ago, thinking that if we bought an expensive kettle we would have it for many years. I am so sick of all the environmental waste of our disposable society. But from the beginning the kettle leaked, including from around the plastic bit on the lid, burning us many times. Last straw was when it tripped the safety switch for the tenth time. So straight into landfill it goes. Quick to boil Quick to burn

Terrible – This thing is NOT "Whisper Quiet" as they claim, being steel it echoes inside and I cannot use it while my partner is on the phone in the kitchen as she complains she can't hear them. (A real pain in the @#s coz she talks for hrs sometimes!!) This is NOT recommended for anyone to buy, if I can find one that looks as nice I'll go buy it and NOT… Read more

have to empty the dumb thing after every use like this useless thing. Oh and if I don't get a response from RH maybe offering a replacement - don't even care if it's refurbished... (email me AT yahoo.com.au name james_dewar2002) I will put a link to THIS review on my website which will have increasingly more visitors very soon. Hmmmm boils quickly, looks good with the F&P Stainless Fridge and stainless Oven etc. in the kitchen The thing LEAKS all over the bench, it has a fine print "must be emptied overnight" caluse so I guess the warranty is rubbish too, MADE IN CHINA...WHAT??? I thought this was a quality English product, no wonder it leaks all over the place. Wouldn't recommend it to anybody, was actually looking to get a replacement so I would keep quiet, but BLOW IT!

Bad – This is a clean looking kettle. The lid is extremely difficult to lift open. The noise is too much to bear. I would not recommend this even to my worst enemy. Looks great. Easy to pour. Boils relatively quickly. The noise is shocking! We have to turn up our TV everytime we put it on. It also seems to go through a lot of filters... but they are easy to buy direct from Russell Hobbs sales department.

Bad – This is a nice well priced kettle which noise as it's major downfall. It is for this reason that I will not purchase another Russell Hobbs kettle in the event that it is also noise like this one. But as said, it looks neat, boils quick and is not too expensive. Quite an attractive looking kettle, looks good in the kitchen. Boiling time is quick… Read more

and I like the cordless functionality. Reading through other reviews the noise level of these kettles in operation seems to be common complaint and mine is no exception. Definitely annoying and I wonder how it passed the design stage. Luckily my kitchen is somewhat isolated from the living rooms etc.

Good – Whilst it can be loud, from some reviews I read whilst considering a new kettle, many are still noisy these days. For the time you put up with the noise, it's a small price to pay for a decent quality, reliable and fast boiling kettle. Nice looking kettle. The "Rapid Boil Technology" does work a treat, it still surprises me how fast it can get… Read more

that water hot.

Cordless feature, easy to distribute the boiled water.

Lighted switch on operation. Loud operation may turn many away.

Stainless steel is a major pain to keep clean. The Satin finish helps a little.

OK – looks good, but is very noisy. I would go for a quieter kettle and have recently replaced this with the Kambrook model which is much quieter and cheaper. looks good and not had a major fault with it in over 5 years. It is very noisy often we have to turn the television up when it is boiling as it is so loud. The filter eventually deteriorated and… Read more

was no longer effective. the on/off button made it a little tricky to turn off if you accidently started it.
