No problems – Bought 3 years ago use it annually on the driveway for about 6 hours each year. No problems so far. It's heavy but if you fully extend the reel you don't need to move it much. Show details

Follow-up  · Now June 2026, still working brilliantly

Plastic Problems – Yes the machine is heavy and Yes it does the work but: The wheels are plastic and broke The hose winder is plastic and broke This is why Bunnings seem to have discontinued it. Ryobi should stick to power tools which is what made me trust the brand. Go Karcher Show details

Okay value machine but quality issues – For the price paid on the unit it does its job based on the amount of pressure it spits out and weight of the unit. However, experienced similar quality issues like other users where my unit had a faulty switch so the power didn't turn on after a few months of use. Swapped it out at Bunnings after they asked if I used it for commercial purposes.… Read more

But the most annoying aspect of the unit is the kink in the hose when trying to reel it in no matter how you try. Ended up just looping around the unit.

Worked really, really well for about an hour, then failed – Bought this one this afternoon, took it home, washed the truck and got halfway through doing the entrance path, put it down for a 5 min break, tried using it again but the pump had failed and the pressure coming out the nozzle was comparable to the garden hose. I rang customer support who said that shouldnt've happened so soon.... Which to me… Read more

implies there is a weak spot designed to fail - planned obsolescence. For a single-use product its great, if you want something reliable that works more than once, get something else. I did find it a bit cumbersome to move, the hoses love to get snagged underneath it and the hose winder needs to be guided half a turn at a time or the hose will slip to the side and jam. Instruction manual is very lacking. Also, a bit of fine print I missed is that the patio cleaner (sold separately) requires an adapter (also sold separately) So I didnt get to try that out. I would assume a ryobi product would be compatible with the ryobi accessories sold alongside it, with any adapters included.

good machine for the price – Its a great machine for the price and much better than my previous Karchers which kept breaking down. I see some other neg comments in these reviews about build quality.,.. really... go and pay another $250 for a higher end pressure washer... its not worth it ... this one is fine and a great buy for the price.. and the warrentee WOW.... yu wont get that from the more expensive brands... totally worth it Show details

Piece of Junk – I have had 2 of these units ... the first one lost pressure the second time I used it, with a white foamy stream coming out of the nozzle at low pressure ... no problemo, walked through troubleshooting phone line with Ryobi ... manual wasn’t really clear about the filter to check .. still couldn’t get to work after following all the advice ...… Read more

took back for replacement no questions asked

2nd unit worked fine ... for 6 months , but similar issue lost pressure power, air somehow is getting into pump ...

Very very disappointed- had a Bosch for 10 years , a Karcher 6 years ... never spend any time at all trouble shooting ...

So don’t know what it’s problem is , but wasted my time and money ( stupidly put replacement receipt in safe place and lost it ) ... very annoyed

Works well but documentation not adequate – Initially pressure fantastic but then on second use it just trickled out with lots of foam from the degreaser. Eventually discovered that if you click the nozel forward,(away from trigger) the unit only puts out little water with lots of degreaser or detergent. When you click the the nozzel back towards the trigger you get the full pressure.… Read more

There are diagrams in the instruction book showing Musle hand + and Muscle hand- but no written information about what it means. If you put the spray unit in and out of the back guides rather than the side holder you can inadvertantly push the nozel in and pull it out should it catch on the way out. This may explain the problem many have had with pressure suddenly being lost. Rotating the nozel changes from circular fan to straight narrow jet. Great machine but let down by poor documentation.

Not worth buying – In summary when it worked it worked well..it however has long periods of low pressure..not sure why...cheap quality hose with a split developed within spool end. Extremely poor quality and build..winding handle continually falling off, and mounts for power cord a waste of time. Show details

Unreliable – Bought from Bunnings. Worked well for about 2hrs, then lost all pressure, same as other owner listed. There appears to be some inherent problem. I can't see this machine listed in Bunnings anymore, which may be indicative of an issue? Am getting a replacement but not confident of long term reliability.  Show details

Ryobi RPW170-G Same fault twice – I purchased a Ryobi pressure washer 2500 psi and on the first day going very well and then it suddenly lost total pressure barely able to spit a drop of water. I returned it to Bunnings who where very helpful and replaced with no hassles what so ever. The second unit also after and hour or so developed the same fault. It was working fine then… Read more

without warning lost all pressure.

I did very thing I could do to get it going check and rechecked the unit water pressure from the tap all connections. short from pulling it apart did every thing I could do but it was the same as the first one. I couldn't believe it really floored me. I am yet to return it but this time i will be asking for a different brand. Very sad as when it was going it did a really amazing job very powerful unit. Don't think I can take a chance on a third machine. Must of been a batch of them missing something of the assembly line.

Started great, BUT replaced within 2 months – Bought it following advice from local Bunnings, as it has 4 year "replacement" warranty, heaps of power and very competitive $299 vs other well known brands at more more money. 1. Within first few uses, the O-ring in the 'gun' split, no drama go to Bunnings and buy part and sorted 2. It's bit top heavy, fell over and handle for hose reel… Read more

snaps, let's say that's my fault so I fix that

3. This weekend the wheel comes off, no idea how to fix it (suspect weight of machine which is substantial is too much for tiny screw to hold).

Hats off to Bunnings who replaced it, though my local one didn't stock anymore had to go to another location.
