The picture quality is good, but the menu and controls are very fiddly and complicated. The most annoying thing is switching the monitor off: you have to press the power joystick, located on the back of the monitor and then wait for 4 seconds until a menu appears on the screen. After that, using the tiny joystick, you need to select an option and press the joystick again. Then the monitor will switch off. It's a process that requires patience, time and focus on the joystick. Today, this monitor eventually died, and I promise the next one won't bear the brand name "Samsung".

Awful Backlight Bleed/Glow – Started to having really bad backlight bleed after a year of use with a thick yellow tint on all edges of the monitor. Samsung repair agent (Video Factory Electronics) refuses to repair saying this is normal. It is not normal.

Purchased in for $220.

I had a chat with your service agent regarding this for an hour, They ask me to do the same thing again and again. To send it back to service agent which doesn't yield anything. Also this time they told me that I have to pay for the repair bill if the agent finds no defect. Well that is the whole issue here. Your service agent keeps returning it back to me saying it is normal when it is not as you can see from the photo I have uploaded here. I cannot share photos with Samsung regarding this directly and I am totally out of options here for a monitor that is still under warranty. Service agent Video Factory Electronics does not test the monitor in front me for defects, so I can't point out the problem. I guess there is no solution to this than to accept the defective monitor and learn the lesson.

We do suggest arranging an assessment through the service centre so they can confirm if there is a fault with the unit. Once a fault has been confirmed our team will be able to look further into this for you. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I have agreed for an assessment with your service agent, but what Samsung is saying if they don't find a fault then I need to pay the repair bill. I am not sure what is the tolerance level of Samsung is when it comes to backlight bleed. But for me it looks awful and I have upload a photo as proof. I cannot agree for an assessment with this condition. Also I have already send the monitor for assessment a month ago to Video Factory Electronics and they said it is normal. So my conclusion is that Samsung is accepting the fact their monitors have backlight issues and that is not a manufacturing fault.
