Continuous switching on/off – This TV was alright until last month that started switching on and off by itself. I reseted it to factory setting but still having the same issue. Surprisingly there is no software update available on Samsung website. Show details
Excellent 3D TV – I this was my second Samsung TV purchase. The first one was replaced with this as an upgrade. I have had no issues with either. The picture quality of this TV continues to successfully compete with the current TV (excluding OLED & QLED of course). I have bought a new bigger TV now however, I am finding that this TV has better picture quality which… Read more
is a shame. I agree with the comments about the Hub requiring regular updates but it usually only took about 2-3mins and it was mainly with Netflix that the updates needed to happen. The 3D quality is better than any other TVs I have seen. Seamless transfer between 2D & 3D.
There are 3 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports and one Optical. Samsung continue to have better processors and provide a better viewing experience for their customers.
Piece of Junk – Purchased this back in 2013, after a year when turned on it started randomly turning itself off and on multiple times then would stay on, 6 months after warranty it started to turn itself on and off all by itself. This piece of junk cost me $2,500 and over $600 in repairs and has been sitting in storage unused for years, unable to be properly repaired to permanently fix the issue. Show details
I will never buy any Samsung TVs again – Brought this TV new, 3 months old it turned off & on at random, many times in one viewing. It was sent away to be fixed 6 months later it was doing the same thing. Then on & on it goes. It still is doing it. What a waste of money. Show details
Worst TV ever! – Stay away from Samsung "smart" TV's. This TV does a software update every week which means that virtually every time I want to use an app such a YouTube I have to wait 10 minutes while it downloads an update to " Samsung Smart Hub ". This is so frustrating that it has driven me to write this review and I have never written a review before. My only… Read more
advice is do not but a Samsung smart TV, it will drive you crazy.
**UPDATE**
Thankfully the TV has died after 4 years of crap service. Its a power supply issue and is common among Samsung TVs - check Youtube. So, if you want a TV that continually interrupts your viewing to update software AND only lasts 4 years, Samsung is your brand! Picture quality is good, but no better than Sony or LG. It updates the "Smart" TV software so often that it is driving me crazy. I just want to use the TV and Samsung is pushing terrible apps onto the TV, just like they do with phones.
Like my Galaxy Note 10.1 just got huge! – I just got this Samsung UA46ES7100M and I can say it's beyond my expectations. The picture is very good. Great colour and crisp n clear. Virtually plug and go set up itself lol, just followed the on-screen prompts. It auto detected and downloaded a new firmware update soon as I connected to Wi-Fi. Plus it does All-Share from my Galaxy S3 and… Read more
Note 10.1...any music, pics, or vids straight to TV.
Then I can remote it with the SamyGo Remote App (S3) or Samsung Remote (Note) - it's a keyboard for entering text to TV, a Game Controller with Gyro function (farout)
This is a replacement TV that Samsung kindly supplied when my last model green screened after 3.5 years and out of warranty too. I phoned Samsung a little upset. Can't complain about that now, all good. Yeah, all seems a bit unreal but that's the story, but stoked with the Smart. It's more than lame free to air TV The remote should have a keypad.
Amazing features - Amazing Picture – I've been toying around with buying this television for the last 6 months. i'd look at it every time i wandered into Good Guys, Harvey Norman, JB HIFI and any other retailer and would always compare it with other Samsungs, LG's, Sonys and Panasonics. when ever i would see it in the shop i would often be put off by the quality of the picture… Read more · 1
showing if the shop was streaming live television and sometimes even their demo reels, the picture looked a bit blurry and not quite as sharp as some of the LG LED LCD tvs. i have always been attracted to the samsung though and after some reading and investigating decided that they had one of the better processors and a different chip to the series 4,5 & 6 televisions. and after seeing one of these tvs running a blu-ray movie - i could believe how crisp and clear it was. long story short - JB hifi recently had a price drop down to $1796 and with 50 months interest free and so i decided to bite the bullet and go grab one (still not totally convinced whether i was going to be happy with the picture quality when watching digital tv).
all my fears were put to rest when i plugged it in at home and tuned in the stations - its crystal clear and the smart TV features are a nice added bonus.
also it automatically pics up a pc program called 'Serviio' when plugged into my home network which allows me to stream video, audio and pictures straight from my PC - WIN!
i had one little issue with the TV that was related to any digital channel related to channel 9, it was unwatchable - but the people at my local JB hifi were very helpful and ordered me in another panel from another store and it was just a straight swap.
i'd also probably recommend the extended warranty just to play it safe - always good to know you've got it there as a safety net in case something goes wrong. clear digital tv viewing, good price after recent price drop, great home network capabilities, great built in apps, easy to use (my wife is a pro after a week), 200Hz processing power $1800 is nothing to sneeze at - but 50 months interest free makes this manageable, on my first panel i noticed some dimming and brightening fluctuations on catch up tv through the PS3 (yet to test extensively on new panel), i honestly dont have a gripe with this TV
Do not buy – I had the chance to test 2 TV's a Samsung and a Sony. The Samsung picture quality was RUBBISH i did try playing around to fix it but no way was it going to get better so then i tested the Sony KDL55HX850 and i tell you something from the time you take it out of the box to pluging it in you know that it is of much higher quality and the picture is… Read more
VERY GOOD. Nothing at all!! oh the remote was good thats it. Picture quality was RUBBISH, WHAT WHERE THEY THINKING
