Pretty good – This is practical tablet, but I can't download an app to print from it. I originally bought it cause the picture quality is very clear, so to watch movies, and youtube videos. It's good for that, but I need more pactucal applications, like printing, to make it more useful to me.  Show details

Gorgeous looking tablet that does everything required – For a year this was my everything; mobile, laptop, TV, etc. The size made it very portable but it was also big enough to be an adequate screen. The screen was also Super OLED meaning the colours were bright, and the blacks were deep. It also had many little tools pre-installed into the system.  Show details

Brilliant!! Perfect Change from the iPad! – Absolutely love this tablet! I got sick and tired of my iPad and honestly needed a change to an android operating system. As a uni student, this tablet has met absolutely all of my needs. Everything I need I can have at a glance on the widgets page, the battery life is perfect (lasts me an entire day of full use EASILY), the screen is GORGEOUS… Read more

(both the display and the size, which is much bigger than the iPad) and it is such a light portable weight. The back has a beautiful matte surface that grips easily to surfaces and is an absolute delight to hold. The 128GB of storage space (with a microSD card) allows me to store all my notes and then easily read them. COULD NOT RAVE ABOUT THIS ENOUGH!!!! Best purchase / upgrade I have ever made - and I don't think I'll be replacing it any time soon!

Fabulous Phablet (Phone-tablet) – Love my phablet. This was free as part of an Optus promotion 2 years ago but it's still going strong, after a couple of auto-updates. It's lightweight and easily fits in my bag. The combination of being a tablet and a phone I find very useful. I use it as a tablet much more than as a phone but it's handy to be able to receive calls. The camera is… Read more

acceptable quality. The screen is beautiful and it's a pleasure to watch films on it - I have the NETFLIX and SBS apps, no problems. The storage size is the only drawback - with those two apps loaded there's not a lot of room left over for anything else. So I'm mainly using this to view work documents, email, watch video and make an occasional call. One negative would be that the battery isn't lasting as long now, but I think that's fairly common as these devices age. If it's fully charged in the morning and I don't use it too much during the day, it will get me through 12 hours. Probably get about 3 hours of constant use, so I tend to run it plugged into the charger if that's an option eg. if I'm using it to read of an evening.

Easily the best table I've used – I have a lot of experience with tablets, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is easily the most user-friendly and best-performing of the lot. I would even rate it higher than it's successor, the Tab S2. Beautiful screen (incredibly vibrant colours), fast, great range of apps, good battery life, huge list of features/functionalities.  Show details

My favorite Tablet – I own three tablets; an Ipad, a Huawei 7" and this Samsung TabS, and whilst I use them all for different purposes, the Samsung is the standout. I got it for free as part of a promotion from Optus 2 years ago in the lead up to NBN, and although it came originally with Android 4.4, last year it had two updates, to 5 and then to 6 within a few… Read more

months. The updates just appeared, loaded up without any input from myself.

I like it because it is very light, the size is perfect and because it has 4G and WiFi, the screen is beautiful to look at and it is fast.

What more could one ask for.

This is a very bad product – The reason why I gave it such a low rating is because it keeps rebooting randomly. I've tried the remedies that I can find online except re-soldering the points connected to the battery. Apparently it is quite a common problem and while some blame it on the firmware, why wouldn't Samsung just provide a patch to solve the issue? Too bad the issue… Read more

started after the 1 year warranty. It used to reboot when it was low in battery like 25% but recently it even reboots at 70% battery.

Display and speed of the Tab is good. Not blazing fast but reasonably good for typical usage like gaming or surfing the internet. Weight is reasonably light for my usage and I do use it often but the random reboots do spoil the experience and does make it fail as a product.

Would I recommend this product, I'll say no. This is based on my experience with this because while the technical specifications are good, it is negated by the whole experience of random reboots

faulty and samsung cannot fix – Bought this just over a year ago. I have taken it back to Samsung more than 4 times. The tablet keeps crashing whenever I tilt it. I cannot get through to Samsung highpoint (it continually rings out) by phone. I cannot make an appointment without physically going to the store and they will not accept me turning up without an appointment. It… Read more

is a lose lose situation for me.

It also takes 6 hours to charge.

The unit is clearly a lemon and Samsung needs to just admit it and replace or refund.

Disappointed – After my experience with this tablet, I will never buy anything Samsung again. I have only owned it for nine months and it has had to be sent in for repair twice. While the repairs have not cost anything as it is still within warranty, they are anything but free. Consider the following – travelling to the store which it was purchased, waiting for… Read more

the store staff to test it and accept it for repair, travelling home again, waiting for the repair company to decide whether it is actually a warranty issue and approve it for repair, waiting three weeks or so for word that it is ready for pick up, travelling to the store again for pick up, travelling home again. This costs my time and petrol. Doing the whole shebang twice and I’m over it.

Having said all this it is a fast, responsive, easy to use tablet while working. But it’s not working. :(

Faulty Tablet. Keeps Crashing And Samsung Customer Service Is Terrible – I have a Samsung Galaxy S tab that is less than one year old. It started crashing when I first bought it but the crashes were infrequent and impossible to predict. After a few months the crashes became more frequent and it is now at the point where it crashes if I try and move it. I took it back to Dick Smith and they sent it to their licenced… Read more

Samsung repairer, who took four weeks to tell me they could not find a fault. The very night after I collected it back from Dick Smith, it crashed. I took a video and went back to Dick Smith the next day. The tablet went back to the repairer (apparently the only licenced repairer in Newcastle, and the only option) with the video but it appears no one bothered to watch it. They said there was no fault found and that it must be an app that I had installed. There were no apps installed. They did a factory reset and as soon as I got it home, it crashed. Have called Samsung repeatedly and they say that there is nothing they can do and that I am not entitled to a replacement because their (incompetent) repairers can't find any fault, so hence the tab must be ok. The tablet is absolute rubbish. Don't waste your money. Here is the youtube link of the tablet crashing for those that may be interested:

I now have a complaint lodged with Fair Trading. Honestly, how hard is it for these people (Samsung and their repairer) to do their job?

Great tablet, but essentially just a larger Android phone – Bought this tablet on sale a few months ago. I opted for the larger screen size and 4G because I wanted a device that could essentially replace a laptop while travelling. So far it has performed pretty well, and I find myself opting to use it for casual web browsing instead of a computer at home. If you own an android phone and would be happy… Read more

to have larger, more powerful device with essentially the same setup then I would definitely recommend this style of tablet. I have seen the device lag a few times when running a lot of services at once, but nothing that has really interrupted my use of it so far. I have purchased a bluetooth keyboard, since even with the large screen, typing on a glass plate just isn't as easy as using a physical keyboard.

The split screen function makes organising and looking up anything a breeze, and this feature is much more useful here than it is on a phone. There are a lot of games designed for tablet which are fun, although the increased amount of pay-to-win games can mean that if you don't want to splash money around the Play Store you can be limited in your options.

Overall this is a great device for casual use around the home, or to take on holidays. Videos look great, and I have stored TV shows and movies on the SD card to watch on flights, which is a real life-saver. However the technology is basically just the same as on any modern android phone, but sized up. This tablet won't change your life, but it will make it a bit easier, and I've had a lot of fun with mine. I haven't really tested it in terms of work-related use, but I wouldn't try to type up large amounts or deal with spreadsheets without at an external keyboard.

A stone tablet is more useful – I've spent too much time stuffing around with this tablet to make it connect to wifi. On the same wifi network:Wife has Apple Air 2, no problem. My old Nexus 7, no problem. My laptop, no problem. My Iphone no problem. This Tab s, connects, the drops out. Then can't connect. I've reset the bloody thing. I've reset my modem. I've changed channels................enough. It's going back, I've wasted enough life on this POS.

Good product – Better than an ipad in every way. Great screen resolution, super fast, flexibility of Android software, nice and thin and light. Battery life isn't quite as good as an ipad but that's probably because its so powerful. Really good product. I highly recommend. Snap on Samsung cover (sold separately) is best too!

Fantastic screen, decent performance – The main reason i got this was the 10.1" Super AMOLED screen and the high definition 2560x1600 combination. OLED displays emit light from individual pixels they don't have black light bleed and blacks are "off pixels" so no light is coming from that area of the screen. I use this to watch movies at night and i get zero eye strain from it, you… Read more

can turn the screen brightness down very low and even more with apps.

Watching high-def content (Images/video) on this is a joy, the included 2560x1600 video demo that comes with it will show this.

As for speed and responsiveness its fine, it uses its Samsung's own Exynos cpu and compared to my other device with a snapdragon 800, it feels about the same. It doesn't get hot, it has 3GB of ram. I replaced the default launcher and rooted it.

With battery life its about average, if you charge it with lower amp charger (such as 1.5A)than the supplied 2amp charger the battery will last longer.

Its very compact, thin and light, its probably too small, since there is not enough space along the edges to grip the tablet without touching the screen.

As for the bad it takes about 4-6hrs to charge, and its RRP is pretty expensive.

Excellent, It does every thing I need it to do – I can't fault it, I do every thing with it, I compared this and the Ipad over many hours online. I am familiar with android as I have a Galaxy note 3, and both can work together, so for me this Galaxy Tab S is the obvious choice. The camera is good, I can add a micro sd card to expand the space, I have 32 gb in this tablet so I don't really need… Read more

more space at the moment. The quality is excellent, really when I read reviews from computer mags they all said that the back cover is plastic and cheapens it but plastic or not it doesn't bother me, I have it in a protective case any way, which I got at a very reasonable price, online. I have paired a bluetooth Pendo Keyboard with it which cost only $20.00, even though the virtual key board works just fine. For the tablet I paid $540 including p&h. I bought it online from a company based in Sydney. The Retail price was about $699. I totaly love it.

worth the wait, – After dropping my galaxy note 8 inch lte model i went on the hunt for a new tablet or phablet with phone capabilities, i was amazed when i came across the newish samsung galaxy tab s 8.4 lte version. It is 4g, very very fast and beats the pants off my galaxy note 8.0. Wifi is fantastic, i think samsung finally got this right as every phone i… Read more

have had has laggged on wifi a bit, not with this baby, its full steam ahead. It does boast a octocore and there is many battery saving options. The screen is utterly fantastic, crystal clear, and web browsing is a dream, very smooth and nearly all web pages work great. Me personally i would of loved to have seen a stylus pen included, but the screen is responsive enough with out one.

The camera is very good for a 8 mp, sharp clear, no complaints at all with it. I really think this is onpar with the note edge, bigger workspace and the price up to 300 bucks cheaper than the edge. All my friends say the last thing they expected from this is the weight, it is very very light and is smaller than the note 8.0 inch in body mass.

There is only about 150 difference between the wifi version and the lte version but the lte is so much more, you you do look like a bit of a monkey when taking a call, you can blue tooth it up with a headset calls are very very clear and i love how the call screen goes into a split screen now giving you all the access to speaker phone etc .

the sound through the speakers is ok, we really cant expect much there, but is clearer than anything i have owned from samsung in phones.

if your looking for speed , performance, it looks good , fast snappy lightweight, give this one a bash, from what i understand only the tab s s5, note edge and a few other models will be getting the android 5 lollipop update , just make sure whatever you buy, your phone, tablet is going to get the update, it will be a shame e to miss out.
