Connectivity Issues – Whilst the TV is a good smart TV - good picture fair sound(limited by flat screen physicality), it does have shortfalls in 2 areas, Connecting Headphones and Outputting Sound to older Stereos. I have a hearing issue, so I was disappointed that Samsung could not assist me in any way on these 2 issues. I tried JBL BT450 Headphones recommended by The… Read more · 1
Good Guys where I bought the TV, only to spend 4 hours trying to pair the phones until I contacted Samsung who advised that the Bluetooth functionality does not work in Australia. The only outputs on the TV are 1 Digital Optical and 1 HDMI ARC port. Wireless Headphones which directly plug into the Digital Optical port seem to cost over $300, whilst my stereo speakers are not HDMI ARC compliant (I think a Converter costs $149). This leaves any solution to these simple basic needs to come from a 3rd party. However my perceived course of action to achieve both of my aims will necessitate the purchase from Jaycar of 3 Digital Optical cables($10 each),a digital optical cable splitter($12), 2 Digital optical to female RCA Converters ($64.50 each) and Sennheiser RS12011 Headphones ($149 to $229). And the mess of 3 extra power supplies for these extra devices. Has anyone done this configuration before?
Not quite what I expected from Samsung – Pros: Great picture Easy set up Sound Looks. Cons: Sound volume varies Fiddly, and not user friendly remote Not much help with the sound issue No dual tuner function - a real let down after our previous Panasonic We have and old LG LED TV and sound is stable and excellent so it is not a broadcast issue! H.N. not much help and want us… Read more
to record the issue on video but this is not an easy task as one does not know exactly when this will happen.
Remote is terrible and not a patch on our previous Panasonic remotes - yes 2 came with the Pano!
Our previous Panasonic came with dual tuners (TH50CX740A 50" UHD 3D). This feature allowed one to watch one channel whilst recording another. Really miss this feature and disappointed that we never realised this when we purchased the Samsung - later version and expected it would be a feature on this TV.
No 3D function but really not an issue as we did not use it on our previous TV.
Somewhat disappointed in our Samsung for the reasons pointed out above and really disappointed that we not told that this TV did not come with dual tuner and find it amongst the most disappoint missing features.
Purchased a soundbar as the salesman said one could not expect much from the sound as the built speakers were not much better than those found in mobile phones. Found this not to be the case with this TV and could have saved the money. Unfortunately, the TV's in store are not set up for you to listen to their speakers so one must rely on the advice given.
The sound issue is a real bugbear and drive my wife crazy.
This is amazing!! – This Tv is great! picture quality is stunning and wroth the money paid, love the built in apps such as Netflix etc. Movies look great in UHD 4K, Sounds great and like being able to sync our Samsung accounts directly to the TV. would be great if the app store had more apps to use but 5 stars from me! Love having a smart TV – We already have a "smart" tv and its not very old but the smart features are very limited on it so when we saw this on sale we couldn't resist. I love now having a true smart tv although it did take a while to learn how to navigate thru all the features. Wish the instructions were a little clearer but then that could just be me being technically challenged. The picture is great good colours and very natural. Show details
Fantastic TV with great features – Very good smart TV with great features. Takes awhile to learn how to navigate around the options. Quality of the image is very good indeed. I like watching YouTube on the TV which is great. Just enjoy the experience I have with this TV. It is also easy to setup up your surround sound. Show details
Good TV crappy firmware and performance – I've bought this 55in tv last summer and with high expectations i must say it has been a bit dissappointing. The firmware is slow and annoying and its comparability with a samsung soundbar is horrible. it disconnects the soundbar constantly. The soundbar otherwise works perfectly fine. Also while watching tv it goes into loading mode when u goto… Read more
tv guide and disconnects the channel u are watching for a few seconds which is annyoing and makes the tv seem slow to react.
Great product – The picture quality on this is incredible, I haven't actually watched any 4K content but the standard blueray is unreal, the speakers are great (cant say ive really thought about them tbh which has gotta be a great sign) and there are plenty of HDMI ports 4 from memory. Smart TV works great and the smart remote (for some reason it came with 2… Read more
remotes 1 smart one a more traditional remote) is by far the best most simple and effective remotes I've ever used.
Dumbest smart TV in existence – Failed to maintain connection to wireless LAN within weeks of purchase. It has been "repaired" twice and replaced once and the problem persists. I would accept that it's a network problem but a Samsung blu-ray drive, mounted inside the cabinet that this TV sits on, is able to maintain a stable connection. The only solution is to unplug the TV for a… Read more
few seconds then replug and wait for it to re-establish a connection. This is required at least daily and it's getting worse.
Fantastic TV - excellent value – Extremely impressed with this TV's app use, brightness/contrast, 4k and ability to make my low res files still look much better than they should. The sound is decent but I use a Samsung soundbar, they pair wirelessly which is really convenient. This TV also has excellent connectivity options for streaming/screen mirroring your phone or casting from computers/tablets etc. Great steal at $1.5k! Show details
Great TV – I purchased this TV last week and it is awesome so easy to use and to down load new apps and move around into different parts of the TV. Love it The picture quality is sharp, sounds great. Easy to set up just by following the prompts no fuss. Will buy another one Show details
Love it – all are very satisfy. Picture quality is great, it has enough ports for me to use. I don't use apps much, but it is to use whenever I want to use it. It starts faster than my old television. Will definitely recommend to my friends and relatives. Picture is clear and sharp. Love it. Show details
Samsung perfect – The picture quality is very real and true to colour as other brands make them too bright and enhanced. I did like the speakers but they still don't compare to being hooked up to my surround sound system. However for those who don't have this option the sound from this TV is still fantastic. There are never enough ports to suit everyone but for the… Read more
average consumer this unit has enough. Connection to internet is sooo easy with this TV and the remote is easy to read with out being cluttered with buttons that you wont ever use.
Very Happy – Outstanding picture quality, not so much the built in speakers, I have to qualify that with the fact I have a level of deafness corrected with hearing aids. So the outcome may be different for someone with regular hearing. I have a bluetooth adapter attached through one of the HDMI ports which occludes peripheral noise. The WiFi connection to the TV is excellent, I wait with bated breath for the NBN. Show details

Know better, choose better.
Great TV – Brilliant picture, colours are fantastic, great contrast and clarity. Detail on 4K movies is mind blowing. The separate module for the ports is a great idea and makes for cheaper upgrades in the future. Internet connectivity is very easy to setup and app integration is very good. Sound quality is good, but we did buy a sound bar to get better sound quality. I would recommend this TV to any one interested in buying it. Show details
3rd replacemet...Still not winning – Not downloading through WiFi firmware's, so I have to manually update by downloading from Samsung site every time and unpack and use a thumb drive to update the TV. Even at times that does not work. It does not like my Cable modem that Optus supply as it interferes with channel 10 frequencies. Optus uses 10's of thousands of these cable modems. … Read more
It has up to 20 weak signal reports a day and i have a new digital antennae which did not fix anything.
Guide is often wrong and takes 10 seconds to show updates.
April 25th, 2017 Update: Still problems
Replace 3 times in 5 months... Firmware still will not update over the internet. They send me USB sticks with ancient updates on them which are useless. From Sydney.
Many menu items are greyed out as they are not available. The offshore help centre is 80% useless they keep me on the phone 1/2 hour without solving my problems.
