Horrible service and no parts available - no options have been provided till date by Samsung – I bought this TV in Feb 2014, in Dec 2018, the bottom half of the Panel started flickering with a big black line in the middle. When I contacted Samsung in Jan 2019, they offered no support, no remedy. I contacted Samsung again in April 2019 - frustrated of not having a TV for 4 months, this time they sent a tech over and called to advise that the… Read more
TV cant be repaired as parts not available and there is nothing else they can do. In their opinion the TV to be outside of its reasonable life cycle. Who buys a $3000 TV Top of the line series 8 TV which was sold as future ready (EVO kit) whose reasonable life is < 5 years with no service support. In spite of the product having a major fault is irreparable, no options have been provided. It is nearly 6 months, I'm still speaking to them to see if this can be resolved but to be honest I never thought this would be such a bad experience

Great TV for Families – I have had this TV for the last four years & it’s still works great. Voice recognition isn’t that great of a feature but we love using the smart TV features. We are also able to upgrade apps & the TV so we can watch YouTube, Netflix & more. This was definitely a good buy. Show details
So sad this TV only lasted 3 years to the day! – I used to love this Samsung TV (VA55F8000), but 3 years to the day exact it has died and we cannot turn it on - when we press the remote control "on" button the TV doesn't power on. Well it tries but the little red light just keeps turning on & off and the electricity can be heard going to the power board of the tv but the tv's picture doesn't… Read more
light up at all :(
I am so so disappointed in my purchase (I actually convinced myself & my husband that we needed to get this top of the range tv and also not the panasonic brand) - but it has literally only lasted 3 years to the day. We made the purchase at Myer at the end of June 2013.
When a tv is priced at $4,199 I would have expected a longer life than 3 years - and the warranty is only 12 months! (what a joke that is).
I am now going to contact Samsung and see what options we have - i will update my review, with the hope of good customer service or some reasonable options :(
So I did web chat with Samsung .au, and they were fantastic so far! Fingers crossed the service… Read more (+1 reply)
Useless Samsung Product Support – Purchased TV in February 2014. Almost exactly 2 years later it stopped working (tried to start several times then just turned itself off - cycle repeats every time try to turn on). Call to Samsung Product Support on 1300 362 603 on 1 March 2016. Told that I would be contacted by a local service centre firm within 48 hours. 48 hours passed so… Read more
called again and was told that service centre firm would contact me as a matter of urgency that afternoon or early next morning. Next afternoon (4 March) called again to find out why I wasn't contacted and then told they had stressed the urgency to the Service centre firm and were told it was number #1 on their list to contact and I would be contacted first thing next week (i.e. 7 March). They gave me the service centre firm's name. I Googled them and found a litany of complaints over several years - including several recent ones - including details of referrals to Department of Fair Trading. One review described the service centre firm as "knuckleheads" up to the same nonsense they have been doing for 10 years and surprised they are still in business. It is now 11 March (i.e 11 days after initial contact) and still no call received and a dead TV (which cost $2500 2 years ago). Rubbish product. Rubbish product support. Never use Samsung again!
I finally received a phone call from the service centre some FIFTEEN DAYS after my original contact… Read more
Wonderful but heartbreakingly flawed. *Review updated* Great Warranty Service Received!! – We bought a Samsung 75" F8000 TV nearly 2 years ago; when they had just come out. From watching the slow maturation of Full HD "Blu-ray" content, we decided to stick with Full HD. I am glad we did. The 3D aspect is actually quite amazing for a "gimmick". We really have enjoyed quite a bit of very cool 3D content on the F8000. The picture for… Read more
Blu-rays was great and the power consumption very low for such a big unit.
The speakers that are in the telly are fine for TV programmes, but of course a surround system is best for movies.
The TV is also a fine looking item with a very stylish, sturdy base.
Unfortunately our beautiful TV got a stuck (blood red) pixel after about 9 months.. Samsung eventually, reluctantly replaced it under the warranty that comes with the TV. The replacement telly has now developed the same type of problem 1 year later, but this time it is a medium blue pixel, so it mostly doesn't show up from where we sit (4-5 metres back).. but it is very noticeable if closer up :(
Rules out using it a a monitor too, as your eye always drifts to the stuck pixel.
I am genuinely heartbroken by our Samsung F8000 75" telly. Even though we have had a couple of brilliant Samsung tellies, our next telly most likely won't be a Samsung (unfortunately). In effect our $7500+ dollars has just disappeared. Our Samsung telly has no value, cos it only takes 1 stuck pixel to make it effectively worthless and pointless.
I wasn't going to put a review up for our telly, cos I like being positive.. but, I would hate for other folks to get done in or sold a lemon like our Samsung 75" F8000 too.
*EDIT* 02/09/2015
With a closer inspection we found 6 stuck pixels after having contacted Samsung about our replacement telly's problem.
I must now say that unlike our first warranty experience, there was no reluctance from Samsung to provide commensurate service this time.
Instead of sending another new telly in a box, a chap from "Blue Diamond" Home Appliance Servicing and Repairs drove the 400++ kms (round trip) to come and replace the screen. I must say that this level of service is so good, that I would now not hesitate to buy another large, expensive Samsung telly. He politely and efficiently inspected, then got authorisation over his phone to replace the screen.
So we now have a wonderful telly again! It is also odd that when the service man put the new screen in we both remarked at how much clearer and surprisingly more beautiful the picture now was. At first I thought it was just excitement/relief on my part, but after watching our newly fixed TV last night (this year 2015 manufactured replacement screen version).. it is just BEAUTIFUL!!
So to sum up, we have been blown away by the fact that Samsung have truly stood behind their product, and treated us in the way customers deserve to be treated. A review of this telly as it stands in our lounge room today would be 5 stars.
I will take the unusual step and adjust this review from 2 stars to a headline rating of 4 stars (cos it is now essentially a second replacement telly), as I want fellow customers to know that we are genuinely appreciative of the end result. This also reflects the fact that our telly now has the value it should always have had (both in re-sale reality and as a major appliance/indulgence).
Thank you Samsung and hats off to Blue Diamond Home Appliance Servicing and Repairs!!!
Service of this quality genuinely wins customers' hearts and minds.
Awesome!!! – Same as other reviewers. This can do it all!! had plasma version updated to this.less power usage better picture quality. Future upgradable.
Samsung Customer Care and Post Sales is Worst – I bought a 65" Samsung TV for $4500. The TV had a faulty motherboard when delivered. When I logged a call I was clear NOT TO REPAIR the TV if they find a fault as I would like a replacement. The tech came and replaced the motherboard and TV started working fine. That is when he confirmed the Motherboard was faulty. He asked me to speak to Samsung… Read more
about replacement. When I called Customer Care for replacement they said the TV is already repaired now thus they will not replace it. I am so angry as I told them clearly if they find any fault in the TV do not repair it thn why was the TV repaired in the first place. Samsung is conveniently turning their face away and not willing to admit their mistake. I feel cheated. It is hard to accept that I paid $4500 for a TV when I can get a TV half that price of a cheaper brand. I feel just because I have made the payment in full they think they will get away with anything. I would like to log an complain against Samsung and need help to get justice. I do not want a TV with faulty motherboard. I want my TV to be replaced. Can anyone help me with getting a replacement or get my money back? It is a great TV Faulty Motherboards are common problem i was told, worst customer service. Incompetent post sales support. Very unprofessional work ethics
The best LED TV for 2013 – I bought the 60" version this about a month ago from Harvey Norman. I paid $4000 including delivery. Having done my research, I eventually decided Samsung F8000 is the way to go. Instead of going on and on about its amazing picture quality I thought I should base my review on things most reviewers ignore. Apart from the picture quality, I wanted… Read more · 2
to play all my movie files direct from my NAS wirelessly. I wanted to share my photo albums in the lounge room on the big screen. I wanted my ACVHD files played directly from my NAS. I wanted to watch YouTube on the big screen. I must say that this TV does it all! I can play virtually any media file on the big screen with utmost clarity.
The TV supports both 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz Wi Fi frequencies. Unless you have wired Ethernet connection, if you want to enjoy its Smart Features, having a quality dual band Wi-Fi router with a decent internet connection is essential. My Asus talks to the TV at 270MB/s @ 5GHz. My NAS is connected directly to the router at 1GB/s. Most of the machines up stairs, we use 2.4GHz for web browsing with zero lag.
The TV supports HDMI ARC. If you are planning to purchase an AMP, make sure it supports ARC. The Smart Remote is awesome. It picks up my Yamaha A820 Amp, my Pioneer Blu Ray player and my Foxtel HD box letting me control everything from one Single remote. The TV has the option to connect an external HDD for recording live TV. In Built Web Browser is great. I can Pair my laptop and Galaxy phone easily. I can access my youtube account and face book account. Firmware can be updated easily on line.
I cannot comment on the quality of the sound as I use ARC to redirect the rounds to my AMP.
I will write a review on my Yahama A820 another day.
The arch shaped stand is an absolute work of art. It gives the impression that the frame is floating in the air. The TV is very thin and light. This is my second Samsung TV and I highly recommend this TV to anyone! Superb picture quality, awesome connectivity, Samsung Smart Hub, Good 3D performance, Fast Quad core CPU, great Wifi performance, beautiful to look at even when the unit is off TV comes with just a 1 year warranty.
