Jury is out – We had a fault soon after purchasing but were told it was a manufacture error and the faulty part was replaced. 3 years later it has stopped cooling without warning. Last time I defrosted and cleaned it out and it started again no problem, now it has happened and after defrosting and cleaning it beeps continually and the buttons won't respond. Of course, every time this has happened it has been on the weekend so here we are on a Saturday and I won't be able to get a technician until Monday! (in NZ)

Very poor – The freezer has stopped working for no apparent reason. It's happen twice now. The second time for several days and everything defrosted, had to give meat away and throw out perishables. Cleaned it out and left empty and next day started randomly again! Purchased through Harvey Norman in NZ. Spoke with them and also Samsung. They say they are unaware of the problem, however when I start looking, I find lots of people are having this fault, so both Sansung and Harvey Norman are well aware!! Why do they continue to sell it!? If it happens again I am going to fair go. I would like it replaced for a different model - not out of warranty yet.

Multiple failures within a 2 year period – Freezer would be great if it worked, but it just doesn't. It stops freezing for no discernable reason, but the front panel continues to claim it is very cold while the food melts. Samsung originally claimed this is normal behaviour (really), then when pushed through the reseller replaced some electronics. The repair person who came round acknowledged a high failure rate. Repaired freezer again started failing and was replaced. Replacement freezer has started doing the same thing.... All within a 2 year period. (Note that I am in New Zealand, not Australia)

Buyer beware – Purchased this item less than 12 month ago and twice it has failed to maintain the correct temperature and food has defrosted. The freezer then restarts of its own accord. The first occasion the repairer replaced the switch to resume cooling after auto defrost. The second time, the same repairer came, the freezer had restarted and he could do nothing but report to Samsung. Samsung are unwilling to replace the freezer until the problem happens again!
