Best fridge I have ever had – This fridge hasn't skipped a beat since purchased in 2014. Runs quiet, maintains selected temperature for freezer and fridge. Keep the vents at the back clean and allow enough space around the back and sides for it to breathe. Our model was produced at the mother factory in Korea where the quality control is on point. Perfect for family – Fantastic to clean, makes slight noise when ice is being dispensed, extra opening for assess to bottle compartment milk, wine etc, a real energy saver have never had a problem with it love it temperature always reliable. seem to need to write reviews. I understand that need to vent, but it would be great to have others who love this fridge take the time to write a positive review.
Rubbish – So here is the short story...... I purchased a side by side fridge freezer 5 years ago. and even when the operator hung up on me several times (apparently in error).
I provided Samsung with my name, the old delivery address, my old phone number, the S/N of the device and every time I was told that they could not find it and they would not do anything unless I had the delivery document (from years ago......)
Eventually I found an old reference number and Samsung were able to look up the fridge. I was then informed that they had found it, but they had spelt my name incorrectly and this is why they couldn't find it.
Eventually a technician was arranged to attend my house. When I spoke to him on the phone he informed me that the part Samsung had ordered would not fix the problem and that was without him even attending the address.
Apparently the compressor has broken (which he stated has a 10 year warranty on it).
So I still have a broken fridge freezer, two weeks later.....
I have finally found the original purchase invoice for the 5 year old original fridge, which I was told I needed in order to get a refund.
I have been offered a refund for the original price of thirteen hundred dollars, which now does not buy any fridge freezer from Samsung.
I was told that they do not have any 'suitable' replacements in order to swap it out, so I have had to take the money.
I asked if Samsung would cover the difference of two hundred and fifty dollars for my two weeks of no fridge, so far, plus having to go and buy and arrange delivery of a new fridge. To my surprise I was advised that I would not be offered this and that I would have to pay the difference myself.
Samsung wonder why they get a bad rap in Australia. The answer might be to look at your direct marketing department and try and keep hold of and make happy the customers you have.
I was told on numerous occasions that I would be called back 'later today', 'in 20 minutes' etc. Each and every time I had to call Samsung and chase this up.
12 Phone calls - 194 minutes
One very unhappy and soon to be no longer a Samsung Customer not spam they are lying they actually treat customers like this funnily enough and we don't lie!
Same problem with cooling – Same problem, cooling system just stops while under warranty. Service terrible. No parts. Still without a fridge 10 days after it stopped. This is obviously a manufacturing fault and Samsung's response is abysmal. Call centre response is poor and irritating and service seem to be scrambling for parts. few days before. Rang Harvey Norman and they put in a service call. I got a call from Samsung and he suggested we turn it off and on again, and hey bingo it started working again. So this has happened on 4 occasions now and have had a local person.looking at it. The last time it happened he rang Samsung and they told it there was an interference from tHe toaster and kettle that are on the same line as the fridge. The fridge has its own power point so don't know how this could be the problem. We are still in warranty but we have demanded a new fridge from Harvey Norman so hoping this will be done for us as we never know when it will turn off and we have lost heaps of food. We are using our old Westinghouse fridge which we have had for over 20 years and never had a problem. Since this fridge has been fixed we haven’t had a problem with it and would recommend it
Is this a fridge or a soundbox?? – I wake up every morning with, buzz,buzz,buzz,buzz. it wakes the whole family up, sometimes even the neighbours. It's so loud I can't even speak to my husband. I have to open it every morning to quiten the buzzing down but it still does no help. I also have a Samsung HD curved TV. It will not let me on hdm1 cause apparently there's no signal. This drives me and my family nuts every day.
Think again before buying this – This from Samsung sucks. Not only is the filter expensive to replace, the ice machine periodically stuffs up and doesn't make ice. On top of this the area around the catch tray has rusted and corroded after 15 months. It's unsightly and a total waste of money. The warranty conveniently ends before the problems start to happen and then you get given the run about as to where to lodge your complaint.
rusty – We bought our fridge in 2009 and about 2 years later drinks door hinge broke then a short time later the water and ice dispenser area started rusting its terrible. We paid nearly $3000 for this fridge and would expect it to last many years and now the ice maker isn't working even after resetting it many times. Very disappointed with this product would never buy Samsung again.
Good value for money fridge – We bought this fridge when we updated our kitchen. The fridge is as noisy or quiet as others we have owned, and as we all sleep away from the kitchen we have had no issues. that allows you to access the ice from the front of the door. The ice tray being turned over can be a bit noisy - therefore ensure the ice maker is off at night. The mini door in the front of the fridge is a great idea for milk and other commonly used fridge items. This fridge has not missed a beat so far and for its price, we are very satisfied.
Very noisy, faulty – We purchased this fridge 5 months ago, already broke, they had to repair faulty fan. It took 4 days to come. Awful service from samsung. If you are thinking of buying this fridge, definitely keep your grocery receipts, as they don't want to pay any food looses. Very noisy and overheating. than any previous fridges I have owned. Shelving and inside the fridge I highly rate I have owned an lg also the lg was quiet as but inside was not as good as the samsung. Overall not a bad fridge for the price and the fact that Samsung warrant the compressor for 10 years is pretty good its the most expensive part. If you can handle a slightly noisey fridge I would highly recommend this one for the price.

Quite often I have to give the fridge a little shake, or open the doors and re-adjust the shelving to try to stop the vibration. It seems to be coming from the back of the fridge. I have also checked to make sure the fridge is level.
I am simply fed up with the noises and it seems there is nothing I can do. I had a technician come out a couple of weeks after purchase and even he said all of this is normal. I don't think so!!!!

top of the fridge, this may cause some people grief but luckily we had enough vertical space in our kitchen to deal with it. In the year we've had the fridge, we've changed the filter once and it was easy to buy the part and easy to install, although filter is expensive ($60-$70). We've had no problems with noise, except for a rattle every now and then when the ice cubes tip into the dispenser. How can you not love a fridge that gives you the choice of cubed or crushed ice?! It's great when entertaining but instant ice also comes in very handy after a day's fishing when you're filleting the catch and want to put the fish on ice. A 2L bottle of softdrink is too wide to fit in the narrow door shelf, but there's so much space in this fridge that it's easy to put the bottle lying down on another shelf and still have plenty of room. We're a small family (2 adults, 1 child) but we've found the fridge has plenty of space even when a tribe of in-laws come to visit. I ordered a huge cake for my daughter's birthday party to feed 20 people and it fit in the fridge just fine. We love the little door in the right hand side that drops down into a mini-bar, giving access to milk, drinks etc without having open the whole fridge. Built-in wine rack saves an amazing amount of room when entertaining. Quiet, heaps of space in both fridge and freezer, can't beat the crushed or cubed ice dispenser
A bit noisy – Have only had this fridge installed a couple of days and have already ready noticed that it is quite noisey (compared to my old fridge that was 10 years old!). The water dispensar drips a little bit - maybe we need to adjust the tap or something. We need to investigate this. Like the ice and water dispensar. noisey.
Started playing up after five months, failed after 8 – Plenty of poor reviews out there, relating to faulty design of the fan and condensor unit. I just wish I'd read them before buying it. After the fan started making noises, I realised something was wrong (the fan hits ice). Eventually, the fan can't spin and the whole thing blows up. Cheap. Poor design, failed after 8 months. Woeful service from Samsung.
Great Fridge – Its true that the height advertised doesn't include the fan, electric box on top, something Samsung should include in the spec's, But that is no reason to give this wonderful Fridge 1 star, it is a great fridge. no more filling up water bottles with tap water, and the water is filtered, would highly recommend.

But as I did not get the water and filter installation manual I don't know how it's meant to be used. Apart from that , it's a good fridge. Don't be afraid to buy. Fantastic Fridge – Hi, great fridge and an even better price. You just have to allow and extra 5cm at the top, but certainly not a problem. The features are great especially the small panel at the front which allows easy access to milk and butter without opening the entire door. Ice maker and chilled water work well. Would definately buy again.
Advertised height mismatch with this fridge - Be careful! – Be aware that the height of this fridge (1800mm or 180cm) does not include an additional 5cm high square box which houses the electrics/fan etc, that's screwed on to the top of the fridge. to fit into their kitchen. I called Samsung to and they advised that this is correct, the height (including the box on top) is not advertised correctly. Unfortunately you can't even unscrew the box on top as it must remain on the top of the fridge due to the wiring and electrics.
I'm moving house next month and this fridge won't fit under the new cupboard by 2.5cm, (even with the feet lowered).
The fridge is functioning fine however I am very annoyed that the advertised height of the fridge is not correct. Really bad form from Samsung. Im now going to have to sell the fridge and purchase another one that's shorter. I can guarantee it won't be a Samsung.
It also took 2 months for the $200 gift certificate to arrive, despite several follow ups. Their website page kept crashing originally. This has been a disaster from the start. It works ok Advertised height of the fridge is wrong
