Can't kill this fridge! – We have owned this fridge for over 20 yrs, with numerous moves, storages etc & this fridge has never failed us & is still going strong. Works well, freezes quickly, plenty of room, easy to clean. Never had to replace anything on this fridge. Very happy with the Samsung product. Would recommend this for secondhand replacement as discontinued now. Thanks for an awesome product Samsung! Show details

Brilliant Fridge! – This fridge has been excellent for our large family. Its still going strong even now. Only downside is plastic slider broke on the meat tray shelf. Small fix. Love having the double doors, also the power feeeze and cool options are a huge bonus after doing a fortnighs food shopping.  Show details

Piece of rubbish – If i could give it 0 stars i would. After two years the fridge side stopped working and was sitting around 15 degrees celsius. I paid around $400 to get it fixed for it to then do the same thing two years later. Don't buy this fridge, i'm chucking mine out and just got myself a Westinghouse. Fridge side broke twice within five years.

This fridge is Bad – Work well for 4 years than had to defrost the element inside the fridge as the fridge is not cold and fan making loud noise from hitting the ice, work well again for 3 years than had to defrost again but this time it freezes again after 2 wks. I just don't think it's worth the money spent. I have a fisher & paykel fridge which is now 12 years old… Read more

and never have to defrost and never fail to work!

Terrible – A great fridge for the first three years. It will now work fine for another three years and break down again. Refrigerators should last a lifetime with no need for service. The Samsung replaced a large Westinghouse (fridge-only) that was going great after 25 years. I will never buy another Samsung refrigerator and will probably avoid Samsung… Read more

appliances all together.

My recommendation: do not buy a Samsung refrigerator of any type unless you are able to confirm that the defrost heater element issue has been addressed and fixed. Smart looking unit. Works well when it works (see below). Easy to clean inside. Bright interior lights. Well designed interior with solid glass shelves (a plus). Separate motors for freezer and fridge is a plus -- some two door units suck fridge air from the freezer side, which apparently is not all that effective. A great fridge but for one huge fatal flaw... The fridge broke down after 3 years. The defrost element burned out with the result the refrigerator compartment iced up and ice contacting the circulation fan made a loud, annoying noise. A bit of Googling revealed premature defrost element failure is a major problem with Samsung refrigerators world-wide. Fortunately Samsung in Australia has a new repair service which works well. The fridge was repaired the day after I booked a service for a cost of $275 - the evaporator and heater pack had to be replaced.

The serviceman said heater elements are like light bulbs - they burn out from time to time and need replacing. I take this with a grain of salt.

Piece of crap – Have been abused by samsung manager three times as we had to keep getting them out to fix the fridge for not cooling. He accused my husband of things that did not even relate to us and we would normally tell somebody that rude to shove it but couldn't as they are the only warranty people in WA and we needed the fridge fixed as it was the middle of… Read more

summer. And now while defrosting my samsung fridge every week my Samsung LCD TV stuffed up. Can't afford new fridge yet but when I can it won't be Samsung. Looking at the monumental complaints I have read on the internet so far I believe they should be banned from trading in Australia. Never throw your hard earned money away on a samsung. The Look Where do I start. Shonky parts and even more shonky service for an expensive product.

Looks fantastic, but functionally terrible, it constantly breaks down – In 6 years our SRS597NP has broken down 4 times, once within the warranty period. Samsung would not help in trying to identify what was wrong, how to fix, or who could fix it. Looks really nice Samsung not interested in providing post-purchase service. I will never buy Samsung again.

Terrible – parts replaced under warranty twice, then called technician out another three times after warranty expired (10 months ago)and am now having to defrost the fridge myself every 6 weeks. It freezes all around the fan and polystyrene housing and makes horrendous noises for days while the fan blades brush the ice.I will not be buying samsung again or… Read more

Terrible – I am very disappointed with the performance and technical problems of this twin-door fridge. I purchased it because of its classy looks; however, the performance is anything but classy. At a cost of 1800 Australian dollars I would expect trouble free performance for a number of years, alas, this is not the case. I would never purchase another… Read more

Samsung product. It looks good I have had this fridge for three years. The fridge compartment has a serious icing problem behind the crisper drawer. The fan housing forms ice blocks that cause the fan to continuosly rattle. Changing the thermostat sensor (as a possible cure) had no effect. The freezer compartment displays a temperature of minus 25 degrees but the ice cream is melting!

Bad – Overall this has been an average fridge/freezer. We were very disappointed when it broke down. Cost us close to $400 to get it repaired. Water was getting into the motor/element section which then required it to be replaced. Apparently this is a common problem. Fridge looks good and the temperatur control is a good option during summer/winter. Alarms if door is left open. Seal is quite strong. Our's broke down after three years.

Good – I love my SRS595NTD fridge - I have had my fridge for 4 years and trouble free, the only thing that has happened is the plastic container at the top of the door has cracked. It's the best fridge I have ever had. I also have a Samsung front loader washing machine which I rate very highly. Looks good - The ice cube maker is a good idea.

Terrible – It broke down twice during the two years since purchase. This is actually the first of the (4) fridges I have had that breaks down, let along twice! Appearance Unreliable
