Got 10 years out of mine – I’m a Westinghouse buyer usually, but bought this Samsung to fit my fridge cavity as WH were too wide. I must say I’m very happy with 10 years but wish they were easier to repair, as my freezer side needed regas, but the fridge side was still perfectly ok. $500 to regas was a bit expensive (I still have the fridge, might get it fixed) ended up buying the new model side by side Show details

6 1/2 years and dead what happened to 15year fridges – Well I thought I might get ten years but No. Shame as consumers don't let these manufacturers of white goods know the effect of having things that last a short time . A new car has a 7 year warranty and a lot more things to go wrong . A fridge in one spot for the time of purchase ang fails it not good and they need to wake up to themselves but… Read more

Never Again – Ive had this fridge for around 3 yrs during which time the fridge door shelf broke and,in the past year, the vegetable drawer slider covers broke (3 times). Im advised it is not an inherent fault and will not be covered under warranty. Mind you, I have purchased around 10 to 15 fridges thus far in my life, currently own four, and no other brand… Read more

has ever given me this problem. My answer is simple. I have replaced the fridge with another brand and, given they choose to stick their head in the sand, I will never purchase or recommend any samsung product ever again.

the worst fridge ever. i regret buying this fridge – we bought this fridge 4 years ago, and every since we had it, it kept giving us problems. Within 6 months it stopped working, so the samsung technician came and changed the motherboard. It worked again for another 3 years and then it started causing problems again, would stop completely. We had to pay the technician every time to fix it,until now… Read more

Nice fridge/freezer, good space inside. Compact on outside – Bought from Harvey Norman (Ballarat) in December 2013, and todate has been 100% trouble-free. Easy enough to clean, temperature control has been excellent. One thing to watch out for, make sure to close any drawer when closing the fridge door (or I suspect the door will damage the drawer). Issue if you have kids arounds, but maybe this… Read more

applies to all fridges.

On first-time startup, it was quite noisy but I suspect that's normal for this model. Once settled it's as quiet as a mouse, although I hear strange noises coming from inside occasionally (no mice - lol). In mid-summer with ambient temperatures in the forties, it's a bit noisier.

Happy with it.

Terrible Product – In the 20 months that we have owned the refrigerator it has proven to be unreliable having failed in service on three separate occasions without any warning or alarm to indicate that the refrigerator and freezer compartments were above the required temperature to safely store perishable items. On the first occasion (October 2014) we lost all… Read more

the food in the fridge and freezer, we called Samsung support and they advised that we should power the appliance down, wait for 5 – 10 minutes and power it back up. This cleared the fault and the appliance appeared to return to normal service.

The refrigerator failed again in February 2015. Again the digital display indicated that all was normal. Again power down and power up cleared the fault. We escalated the issue with Samsung, after much insistence and the treat of escalation to the Department of Fair Trading, Samsung dispatch a service technician who replaced the entire electronic control system in the refrigerator under warranty.

The refrigerator failed again for the third time in May 2015. Again the digital display indicated that all was normal, again all the food in the refrigerator and freezer spoiled and had to be thrown out. This time we contacted the Department of Fair Trading directly and were advised that we should pursue the matter with the retailer (Harvey Norman) where we purchased the fridge.

Again a technician was despatched, this time he didn’t even get his tools out as the refrigerator was working when he attended, an unfortunate fact when dealing with such intermittent faults.

Samsung offers no remedy for the refrigerator as it is “operating to manufacturer specification”. I can’t seem to find anywhere in the specification the requirement for the appliance to be power cycled every few months to maintain normal temperature?

We’ve requested a refund but they’ve refused.

I'm dissatisfied with the both the product and the support from the manufacturer

Won't buy a samsung in anything – We've had this for 2 years. Shelves have cracked, sometimes it overheats. It's horrible. Just lost 20 minutes of my life trying to ring their support line, and all they gave me was a phone number. No sorry that our product is substandard - sure it isn't their fault but I'm sure they hear a lot of complaints. Do I have any rights that their almost $2000 fridge is crumbling underneath me?

Our Worst Purchase – We had a series of problems with this fridge over the first few months as follows: - Our fridge constantly sweated on the inside on the wall next to the freezer. - Within two weeks, one of the door shelves had broken. The only place you can place milk is on these shelves, and the plastic is not up to pulling milk in/out. - Our fridge fan froze… Read more

about once per month. The symptoms are it started making lots of noise, and then we got temperature problems. We had Samsung come out twice to fix this.

- Its easy for the fridge to go into 'Exhibition Mode', where the fridge does not cool. This can happen after power outages, or just fiddling with the panel to try to get the temperature right. What makes this really bad is you can't easily tell its in this mode from the control panel on the front, until the temperature rises and all your food is ruined (which you might find later). Even the Samsung repair guy left the fridge in this state which should tell you its just poorly designed.

- Fundamentally, it just didn't do what a fridge is supposed to do - keep things fresh. Our milk was constantly going off before its use by date, despite the temperature on the control panel saying it was cold enough.

On the positive front, Samsung did come out to fix it twice, and eventually agreed to take it back and give us a store credit. We replaced it with a French door Fisher and Paykel which has had none of these problems. With the narrower doors, it also sits almost flush with our cabinets (rather than protruding 10cm) so looks much better in place. Looks great. The handles are a nice match to Miele ovens. Huge freezer space. The doors are very thick, which means you need to have it sticking out quite a long way to open the doors even with the recommended side gaps.

Beware flimsy door shelves – Hi - just sitting at home with the fridge closed and bang crash, opened the refrigerator door and two of the shelves had just broken. Top shelf inside the refrigerator only had 3 x 2lt milk on it !! This shelf has broken and fallen onto the shelf below and smashed it as well. Looking on the internet this appears to be a problem across ther world. Also agree with other reviewers fridge can be quite noisy at times

Looks great. Gets cold – We have had this fridge for about a week. So far it has been excellent. It does exactly what it's meant to: the fridge section gets cold. The freezer section gets colder. It has heaps of space inside, and the fridge section is nice and wide (for a side-by-side model). It is also whisper quiet. We can't hear it running at all. The only… Read more ·  4

things we don't like are the fridge door bins - there aren't enough different positions. And the stainless steel finish does show marks pretty easily. Also the internal LED lighting isn't very bright, and the colour of the LED's isn't very nice. I much prefer the light from traditional light bulbs. LED's that give a similar colour to to incandescent bulbs do exist, so perhaps Samsung could look at that in future models?

But overall we are extremely happy and would recommend this model. Quiet. Big inside. Looks good. Gets cold. Finish shows marks. Limited door bin adjustability. LED lights inside unattractive colour.

A Cool Buy – Large enough for a family of 5 without taking up a large space, Stylish finish and quiet operation, has plenty of storage options and the LCD operation panel makes for easy interaction for fast cool/freeze function also fitted with a child lock for convenience. Highly recommend for any family of 3 and above. Stylish

A brilliant fridge! – The fridge is energy efficient to run and it has heaps of storage space in the fridge and freezer. It keeps the food nice and crisp for days. It is also a very quiet fridge to run. I am very impressed with Samsung and would recommend this fridge to anyone.
