Great quality let down by bad design – Had a pair of these stainless steel saucepans for about a year now. The quality is first class but the handles seem to be designed by someone who doesn't cook. They are very narrow and extremely hard to hang onto when even quarter full, especially the large one. Why professional quality pans need a glass lid is a mystery. Did I forget what I'm cooking in it, or am I incapable of lifting the lid to see? The heat transfer is also a problem, it heats up then overheats very quickly. All in all I would not describe them as saucepans because any sauce would quickly burn. Great for cooking spuds.

Hi Turtle. Thank you for the feedback. The Accent range was discontinued a number of years ago now, but not because of the handles as far as I know. I will take your advice however when looking at new range inclusions. Generally, consumers love the ergonomic style of many of our handles across the board. The large saucepan, if 20cm diameter, will have a helper handle to assist with the weight. As far as glass lids are concerned, this is what sells in the AU/NZ market. After more than 40 years of developing SCANPAN cookware in this market, the most successful have domed glass lids. We have SS lids in Commercial (stainless steel) and have had ss lids in past Danish non-stick ranges - they do ok but nowhere near as popular as Impact and Classic, our two best ranges. For the heat issue, what sort of cooktop do you have? The Accent range is single ply stainless steel with an impact bonded base that is 6.4mm thick. Thanks again for the feedback. Steven

My apologies. It's actually the impact saucepans.

Hi Turtle. Thanks for the update. Impact is our (and possibly Australia's) best-selling single ply stainless steel range.

Did you test it out in store before you purchased? It isn't for everyone, but just about everyone buys it!!

All the best, Steven

Good quality but flawed design – We recently purchased a set of Scanpan Accent saucepans and the multifit steamer. Not cheap but very good quality and attractive items. The major flaw is that the saucepan lid handles get too hot to handle. Hard boil an egg and you can't lift the lid without a cloth. Poor design in this day and age. Attractive and well made. Lid handles get too hot to hold.
