Great pots and pans – I've had my scanpan pots and frying pans for a few years now and have had no issues with the quality or use of the commercial or impact range. My only issue is the handles filling up with water when used in the dishwasher. It's annoying so go the solid handles not the hollow tube type. I had to laugh at some of the reviews here because clearly… Read more ·  1

they're user error! I use my pans daily and they're all unmarked and working as intended.

I especially laughed at the review where the person is bothering the ombudsman about the poor customer service when clearly the company was trying their best to replace the product. She thinks she's going to win some challenge when in reality, the ombudsman will tell her that the company has followed the COM law agreements. Some people just have no idea and are trouble makers. Clearly she's trying to cash in because she didn't want her present.

I'd have no issue buying scanpan again.

Water in handles is frustrating and potentially dangerous - otherwise fine – I bought 2 sets of Scanpan Commercial pots (3 piece saucepan and 5 piece cookware) when I installed a new induction cooktop. They cook fine but when washed water gathers inside the hollow handles on ALL of the pans with that type of handle and I am unable to remove it. The water slowly seeps out when they are stored in the drawer and also when… Read more

they are on the stovetop which is really annoying and potentially damaging to the drawers. The worst part is that sometimes a large amount of water accumulates and during use the handle becomes extremely hot due to the boiling water sloshing around inside. I have had one near drop but now use a tea towel to hold them. I read the earlier reviewers complaint about the same issue and am astounded to think this could be a Scanpan design feature. I have tried everything - reverting to hand washing, storing them on an angle to try to remove the water during storage, etc. Am about to drill some holes in the bottom of the handles out of desperation. When possible I use the pots with the solid handles in preference. Would not buy again and would not recommend.

Leaking pot – The pots themselves work - one of our pots collects water after being in the dishwasher and then leaks in the drawer. After contacting Scanpan they said the handles are designed that way - no mention of this on the product brochure - its ok if you can accept this fault Show details

I do really like it! – I have bought it recently and I really like it. This is the commercial 16cm. I use it mainly for boiling and liquid stuff. If follow instructions it is easy to keep it clean and food not sticked. Even if food sticks is not a big deal to clean it. I think the key is not use high heat. With the use I noticed some areas got bit yellow which is a bit… Read more

dificult to remove. It is just the looking. If inside I used bicarb and boiling. If outside I found the best solution use the scanoan stainless clean which cost 10 bucks. Happy overall with this one. With fried pans is different. I would not recommend buy any less than 20cm coz they got over heat to easy and dificult to clean and does not work very well to keep it out of stick food.

SCAM pan – I have had three replacement pans due to the surface becoming non stick after 12 months. The last time I asked for a replacement I was confronted with a nasty femin nasty who said they will not replace the fry pan due to us not cleaning it properly. FYT A HOLES...! I can get longer life out of a $15 Chinese disposable pan than this $240 SCAM pan. Show details

Awesome, wish i had more! – I have the Scanpan Commercial 3 pot set & they get used a lot. Great value for money, they take a lot of abuse & still clean up well every time. I wish i had larger Commercial pots! If you want pretty, shiny pots with glass lids...these are not for you. If you want hard wearing, great cooking pots then these are hard to beat. Show details

From the stove to the oven – I’m so glad I opted to purchase purchase Scanpan cookware. I first started with the 28cm stockpot. This was a great addition to my cookware. The ease of use reminded me of another brand (Rena Ware) you only need low heat to cook. Heat is enclosed within and cooks evenly. Has firm handles and a clear cover with steam outlet. Lovely steel shine and… Read more

washes well. Only downfall, is the screw position on cover. The nut on the inside hinders when washing. Overall, the item is great. Added advantage, sear meat and cook away in oven. The cover also can be used in the oven, it has a great heat resilient. Like the product so am slowly adding items in my kitchen. Personally, after washing and drying, I replace item in original box for longevity.

Scanpan Commercial Stockpot 8.5L – I love this pot. It heats evenly and quickly, nothing has ever burned in it, it’s not heavy. It’s my go-to for cooking in bulk or for large groups and making stock. It exceeded my expectations even though it’s just a stainless steel pot! I one day look forward to making jams and sauces in this pot too.  Show details

Scanpan products – I just love my stainless steel products. Best on the market. Try their list of knives. I have about 7 of them. If you buy ensure you get the appropriate sharpener. Also give the other equipments available a try. I have the full range. I have had mine for years. I standby everthing. I bought at different times. Heather Brand  Show details

Very disappointed – I am really disappointed with this product. everything I cook sticks to the bottom of the pots and fry pan, even on low heat. I have an induction cook to and cook everything on 3. Fried eggs even stick. It takes a fair bit to get it off. The pots are just as bad. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any tips on how to alleviate this problem.  Show details

water entering seam of pot issues – Purchased this product 6 months ago. It is replacing a set of bistro pots I have had for over 30 years. Should have kept the old ones. These pots have a most annoying problem of water entering the seam at the bottom or via where the handle is attached to the pot. I cant work it out but what I do know is it occurs after washing in a sink (the old… Read more

fashioned way) or in a dishwasher. I have to spend 5 minutes or more trying to get the water out of the inside of the pot. I can hear it swishing around and it is difficult to remove all of it. If I leave it in there it creates another annoying problem and that is, after heating something quickly like milk for a warm cereal for example, you go to pour the milk into your bowl of cornflakes and the water from the bottom of the pot enters your bowl as well! Awful!!! So disappointing...they work great for their intended purpose but this water issue over clouds everything that might be good about them and makes me want to throw them...

Excellent build quality, practical design and excellent in use – We have several Scanpan Commercial pots & pans in our kitchen and found them to be excellent in every assessment. Great design cues includes : - carry hollow handles that stay cooler for longer. - clean lines to allow for cleaning & scrubbing. - excellent fitting lids to keep heat in - heavy gauge steel means they are unlikely to deform… Read more

over time

- solid welds at all joins for durability

- heavy steel alloy base for excellent heat transfer & retention

We have a family of 4 and use our Scanpan range of pots & pans almost everyday. The heat transfer of the bases is excellent compared to some of our other pots (cheaper and more expensive).

The excellent fit of the lid enables a pot of water to boil a lot faster than a pot with a loose fitting lid. The shape of the lid is great as you can clean around the whole lid, unlike many pots which have an internal curve that you simply cant get into for cleaning or drip the wrong way. Sometimes we just keep food in the pot for storage in the fridge because the lid fits so well. Also, when you boil water, the lid is heavy enough not to clank with the steam coming out.

The flowing surfaces and joins make it easy to clean. If we do happen to get some cooking residue on it, I've had no issue using a scourer to clean it off - no chemicals or proprietary product needed. The performance of the pots and pans are as good as the day we got them, so we've accumulated a couple more pots, even the same size , when you've got multiple items on the stove. I'd like to get the 11L stockpot next.

I would be very happy if someone had recommended me to buy these as a first set of pots, so i wouldn't have to waste time and money trying different brands, designs &, finishes. Highly recommended.

Scanpan Commercial 30cm frypan – Having used these frypans before and also owning other Scanpan Commercial saucepans and casserole dishes I expected a good quality product. Unfortunately the frypan I received was defective. It builds up food residue and oil on the surface which are impossible to clean or remove via handwashing (consistent with the care instructions) or through… Read more

the dishwasher. Even using it on the lowest heat, to warm things like roti bread leaves marks and oil on the pan which cannot be removed through washing, scrubbing or soaking. I have now found that using a special stainless steel cleaner is the only way I can clean this pan of routine food residue and marks - this proved to be so time consuming that I no longer use this pan.

To make matters worse, I have been unable to get through to Sheldon and Hammond, who administer the warranty for Scanpan, and several emails have gone unanswered and unacknowledged after 2 weeks. I realise that products can be faulty now and again, but the complete inability to even answer my queries is terrible. While the other Scanpan items I've purchased have all been fine, this experience has completely put me off this brand.

In summary, great item if you get one that works as it should, good luck to you if you get a dud like I did. Heats up well and cooks evenly. Long handle stays cool. Defective surface of the frypan makes it impossible to remove oil and food residue (without resorting to using specialist stainless steel cleaner). After sales support non-existent. Sheldon and Hammond don't respond to warranty queries.

Love the whole range – I have had quite a few non-stick pans over the years after being talked into it by early 90s marketing (so much healthier! So easy to clean!). All of them were rubbish and the surface would start flaking off after a short time. I had a few concerns about the safety of the materials used in non-stick pans, too. I finally decided to invest in some… Read more

good quality stainless steel cookware and wish I'd done it years ago! These are superb. They are heavy, heat evenly and quickly, handle high temperatures and are very easy to clean. You only need a light coating of oil. The handles are very comfortable and the lids fit perfectly. Plus no chance of the lids breaking! The 20cm frypan is perfect for single pancakes and omelettes. I can highly recommend this range - Kitchenware Direct has them much cheaper than the department stores. Excellent quality, easy to clean, comfortable to handle, cook perfectly

Finally! No ridiculous glass lids – Trying to find an top quality induction set without silly glass lids is almost impossible...hooray! I hate the scanpan non stick, but this set is perfect for me. I didn't want 'silicone inserts' and 'glass lids with vents' (like that's a good thing...NOT). Why do you want something breakable/degradable on a cookware set? All glass can break, even… Read more

tempered; dangerous and silly-a chef friend's experience! Silicone will start to look tatty if thrown in the dishwasher a lot, which I need to do. Want to look in the pot? Lift the lid.

This set is tough, tough, tough. If you look after it, it will last much longer than the guarantee. I throw it in the dishwasher time after time, and it comes out like new. Perfect for induction, heats quickly. I got the 5 piece set with 2 dutch ovens and that's great...no silly handles sticking out in the fridge. Yes, I put my pots in the fridge... hygeine reasons. The pot you heated is way more sterile than anything you can transfer food to. So the set needs to stand up to a lot, and it does, above and beyond expectations. Light, strong, superior heat distribution, s/steel lids, great price over 50% off.
