This is a formal complaint about Schwarzkopf 100% Vegetale natural hair colour – I have used henna for 30 years and i used this vegetale product and my scalp is so bloody itchy and my glands have come up behind my ears on my head, this has never ever happened to me ever - this product has caused some sort of internal and external infection causing my body to fight something off - i believe its toxic not natural at all - as… Read more
natural henna has never done this and has always left my hair in a much better condition. my hair is also dry and it actually feels like its lost its glow, its dull, dry and feels like its been bleached. The lumps behind my ears on the base of my skull really hurt!!!! and i feel unwell - two days off work..
Negative 300 out of 10. Worst "dye" ever – This stuff is absolutely horrific. I didn't realise what I was buying, I thought it was just going to be another version of natural ingredient hair dye (my usual and it's amazing, is Naturtint. No harsh chemicals, no smell etc). This was a green, goupy paste that didn't even cover my entire hair, was heavy like mud, and didn't even dye it black.… Read more
It "kind of" tinted it a bit, but my natural hair colour is dark brown and it didn't really change much at all. Still all brown, no even hint of black. I also left it in for 90 minutes when it says to do so for 60. ALSO, my hair smells like cigarette ash, even the next day after rinsing it out. Also, thick awful residue left on the hair. It's matted, really hard to brush (loads of knots) and coated in what feels like muddy ash filth. Negative 300 out of 10. Worst experience do not recommend. Try Naturtint, you'll love it.

It is what it is, and I love it the way it is – I don't really get what people who have given it one star were expecting. It isn't a foolproof way to colour your hair. You have to make sure you use the right water temperature/don't use metal tools/don't use it on fresh chemically dyed hair. And you have to know how long you are letting it develop affects the colour very much. I've been using… Read more
this product for three years and it's great. It gives a beautiful halo glow to my hair in the sunshine. It made my hair more resilient and I find it stays fresh longer. I have learned that I have to repeat treatment every month or so, and I have learned to live with all the side-effects - like leaking colour at the first one or two showers and the unusual smell, and muddy consistency. It blends in greys but doesn't completely cover them at the first application, unless maybe if you leave it on to develop till kingdom come.
If you're looking for a natural product, or a vegan product it is a great option. I'm allergic to PPD, so this is pretty much the only product I'm able to use without blowing up my scalp. It doesn't damage my hair at all, but be aware that it will affect any future hair treatments you want to have, for example I couldn't find a hairdresser that would dare do a perm on me.
hair has been falling out at the roots - I'm going bald – Initially I was stoked with the colour & it was beautiful &shiny immediately afterwards. It washed out faily quickly, coz I wet my hair daily . I did repeat treatment at 2.5wks. Then over the following 6wks my hair started falling out -at the roots - it's not breakage, it's mass shedding, literally coming out in my hands when run fingers through… Read more
it. Having very fine hair, the slightest bit of abnormal hair loss has made me look bald. I used this because, I've been bleaching my hair for years, it was suffering dryness, split ends -midlength breakage (not falling out of scalp) - it needed a rest from ammonia or peroxide based dyes. I'm devastated, I'm going bald now, it was supposed to make my hair healthier. I've done searches in stores &online (before I realised the associated hair loss) I wanted to buy more but couldn't find in woolies or chemis warehouse, or online it's been removed from shelf - so I'm guessing this a known issue &been banned
Destroyed my hair. Do not recommend – I regret ever having used it. It was messy and left my hair dry and brittle. I used it on virgin mousy brown hair and it went extremely dark and had a green/blue underlying hue. 6 months on I have been unable to rid the pigment after trying every natural and chemical process to neutralise, strip or cover the pigment. Hairdressers have refused to… Read more
touch my hair in fear of a chemical reactions and I have been left with the heartbreaking choice to begin cutting it off instead. I do not recommend this product. I don't believe it should be sold in the first place.
Did an amazing job! – My hair was a terrible red colour and extremely damaged (breaking) after a colour correction at the hairdressers gone wrong. I’d already put one semi perm dark colour in but it didn’t get rid of the red and left my hair even more damaged. I was so nervous to do another colour due to state of my hair I knew it couldn’t take it. So I risked it and… Read more
tried the nautural brown knowing this was probably most gentle option. Results AMAZING! Great brown colour and red is pretty much gone and my hair completely un-damaged, if anything it actually feels a bit more normal than what it was (it was very dry)! Application was a bit messy and need to carefully clean up, but I highly recommend to give this hair dye a go, but go in knowing how to use and the expectations of henna colours. I will be sticking with it for my touch ups! Prior red colour pic and brown dyed outcome pic included.
Deceived and full of questions – I have been looking for a affordable vegan hair colouring kit, I was pleased to find this one even it was the most expensive in the shop. I chose the brown one to get a more uniform color in my hair that are clearer on the length because of the sun. When I opened the bag and see the green powder I wasn't convinced, but the smell was far worst than… Read more
the appearance. My boyfriend came 2 floors up to ask me what was that terrible dirty swamp smell. I think it smelled more like hen poo. I mixed it with nearly all of the water and the result was repulsive, like baby vomit. I tought something must have gone wrong, maybe the bag was pierced and the powder rot? No way someone will sell a hair product that looks and smell like this. I really didn't want to apply this on my head. I checked a little about the product online and read that it has a matcha smell, nothing to worry about. I left it on only for about 25 minutes because I just wanted my hair to look the same everywhere without much of a darkening . It worked ok although it seem very dark already for only 25 minutes left on my hair . My guess would be that I would have black hair if left the whole hour. My hair felt a little dry after and smelled disgusting. I would never buy this product again and I would strongly recommend to people I care about not to buy this.

Great Results – I have thick dry curly black hair,4 weeks prior to using this product I had got my hair streaked from a hairdresser but didn't like the colour so decided to go back to black,it is a very messy procedure but results are great, after washing out product I moistured my hair with coconut oil and then aloe vera gel, hair feels and looks better than it has in a long time Show details
Suddenly not available grrrrrr – Grrrr this has been perfect for me I finally found something I can use that works and that’s natural I’ve been using it for ages ….now all of a sudden no one is stocking it is Vic or Australia for that matter ….I can get it from New Zealand have to pay a lot more than usual ….not fair!!! Love this product – Love this natural product, camouflages my greys so well turning them into a blonde which blends well with my highlighted natural colour, after I have used this product. Will never put chemical dyes in my hair or on my scalp again. They are not good for you. Show details

This is the worst thing I've ever used on my hair – Edit: A year later! This didn’t just turn my hair a drab brown but after a few washes ends of my hair were GREEN and have been for months and months. I haven’t touched it and I’ll be cutting it off at shoulder length. As I said my hair was 75% virgin - all the blonde turned green, which should have been covered or atleast neutralised by the henna… Read more
in this, but the indigo just lasts and lasts.

This turned my strawberry blonde hair into a drab brown. I am beyond devastated. I used the copper version and it only made my roots copper - and mind you, my hair was 75% virgin, only the ends were bleached and I had been growing it out for over a year. I never leave reviews but I'm leaving this as a warning - please don't bother with this product and buy henna somewhere else. I'm extremely sad and it has ruined hair colour and considering it's henna, I'll be stuck with it for who knows how long. Please don't buy.
Worst product ever!!! – My long natural blonde hair is now green instead of a nice brown shade! I am totally annoyed that this product can even be sold! It smelt like cow sh^t, felt like cow sh^t and now my hair looks like cow sh^t !!! I now have parts of my hair that are super black and others that are a horrific green. How do I fix this without cutting or damaging my hair? Show details

Smelt and looked revolting – I could not bring myself to put this disgusting smelling product on my hair. I mixed it in my kitchen and felt like I was going to vomit. My husband had to open up doors and burn a scented candle to get rid of the smell. I wrapped the product up, bowl and all and into the bin it went. Biggest waste of money! Show details

natural hair colour – The most organic hair colouring option which improves hair quality. I had to ask a hairdresser to apply and used it as a hair treatment+colouring. Show details
Perfect – Ok. This is henna. It smells different, and it is messy to apply but it is natural. Of course, chemical hair dyes are easier and smell better (or maybe smell like other products that we are used to). If you believe that chemical hair dye is harmful to you, this is a great substitute. You will learn how to use it and how to get rid of the smell (Hint: wash your hair with coffee the next day). full stop Show details
Henna is a wonderful natural product and covers greys – The henna colour coverage over grey hair is excellent. It’s messy to apply and has a strong smell but I can’t use chemicals anymore due to eczema breakouts. The hair is shiny and feels soft. The copper colour I wanted will take time after the initial dark brown fades. Henna is a natural product and I’m really happy with the result. I won’t wash my hair often to keep the colour and shine as long as possible Show details
Great color – The color is great, reasult is amazing. But remember is all natural herbal color. Proces of coloring is complety different and also hair care before and after coloring in compare with chemichal hair colors. Show details
Worked really well – After reading some of the reviews I was nervous about putting this stuff in my hair. I found it a little bit messy, but worth it to use a natural product. I freaked out when someone said their hair had turned green, so I washed it out after only 30 minutes using a little shampoo. I even put in some conditioner, even though I wasn’t meant to. to my delight, my hair turned out perfectly! Really happy with the colour. And so pleased that I have found a natural hair dye.
Smells so bad and turned my hair green!! – I have dark brown hair with bleached highlights I wanted to get rid of. I bought the brunette colour and it turned my hair jet black with the highlighted areas green! I'm now researching ways to remove asap as I now look like a character from Sesame St. It also left a dark blue stain on my towels. Will never buy again or recommend. Show details
Stinks! – This is the worst smelling hair dye ever. Still smelt terrible even after shampooing and conditioning. Tried the copper and it just made my hair very dark. Very messy to use and made my scalp itch. Show details
Smells awful. Works well though – It works well and does not stain the skin but smells really bad. Like cow manure. And even after washing with shampoo, conditioning and spraying with perfune my hair still smells awful. Maybe they could use something to neutralise this. Ive used a henna product before and don't remember a smell like this and I think I would. Show details

After 30 years using henna based dyes this is the worst!!! – After 30 years using henna based dyes this is the worst! I now have a strip of blue/green as my hair grows that hairdressers get to budge!! I’m embarrassed and angry! Absolutely appalled at this product. Plus made my hair almost black when I used the copper colour one! I’ve now had to cut my hair short as this cannot be fixed! Show details
Hair went green and yellow – Stay away from 100% vegetale hair dye It smells real bad and my hair went green and yellow Have wash it and wash it and tryed all sort to get it out Show details
It's literally a $5 packet of henna powder to mix yourself. NOPE – I wish I had read reviews before buying this. Its literally just a packet of henna powder wrapped up in a fancy unreadable box. I bought copper for my copper hair and now have DARK brown hair. I'm going to have to fork out hundreds of $ for the hairdresser to fix this, it's so dark. If I wanted to buy a pack of henna and mix up mud to fling all… Read more
over the house I would have bought a packet of henna. Didn't even have shampoo & conditioner sachets to help get the stinky concrete out of my hair. I advise sticking with henna from the Indian grocery if it's henna you want, rather than paying an extra $20 for a wannabe trendy box. Never buying another schwarzkopf product again. See the pic for packet vs reality (note hair is still wet, but it still shows how dark it is)
STEP AWAY! DO NOT BUY!!!! – I used a very small amount of this (1/4 packet) in a conservative way and the result was an unmitigated Fanta-hair-hell disaster. I didn’t do anything dumb. Had medium brown hair with specks of grey. I followed the pack directions and have been in Ron Weasley hair hell for weeks. This product IS A SCAM! Run a mile. Don’t use. Show details
Will be a longtime customer – My hair had been bleached then dyed a brownish colour and I had regrowth when I applied this product so I wasn’t expecting much. It’s amazing! It covered everything the colour is amazing my hair texture is great so soft and thick. I used the mahogany packet. Show details
Please delete this product - its a disaster – I used the russet brown, colour was nice at first but when I tried to go back to blonde, my hair started to turn green/blue. My hairdresser cannot do anything, my hair is a swamp colour. I have tried bicarbonate soda, french vodka, ketchup, anything and everything. My hair is permanently ruined until it grows out or I cut it off. This is a dangerous product that should be deleted and definitely not sold without a warning sign. Show details
Great grey coverage! – After reading other reviews I was expecting an horrendous smell and a product that was so messy I'd need to repaint my bathroom - nothing could be further from the truth. There is a smell to the product, but I would liken it to matcha, a natural grassy smell. Mix in a plastic bowl with hot water and keep stirring until it goes smooth, will be the… Read more
consistency of cake batter, so no fear of squirty drips like regular hair dye. Then just slap it on. I used an old paint brush around the hairline, and a wide toothed comb to make sure it went down to the roots. I have some very stubborn white/grey areas and it did a great job covering these. Best to wash out in the shower, takes a few minutes. Also be aware it'll be a bit crusty when you first take off the cap to rinse out, it seems to dry a little on the hair. Very pleased with this result, and no bathroom clean up after!
This has been great for my hair – Is fairly easy to mix, I had no trouble with mess. Yes the smell is strong, but so is peroxide. I am using this as my hair is thinning and I don't want to damage it more than what it already is. Colour comes out beautifully Show details
