Highly Allergic – I started using Sensodyne Rapid and within 48 hours had extremely dry lips. They then swelled like two sausages and were very painful. I ended up at the doctors and was prescribed antibiotics. DO NOT USE. Show details
Toothbrush sensodyne for sensitive teeth is very abrasive on tooth enamel – This toothbrush is not soft and is very abrasive on my tooth enamel when brushing. I have used this product for years and never had problem prior to this. Its damaging my enamel. Seems to be selling counterfiet product as shape and handle is different also, and doesn't seem like they tested their product prior to misleading and ripping customers… Read more
off with price. You've just lost a loyal customer sensodyne. I would say ive been buying your toothbrush for the last 15 years and used to recommend to everyone i know...not anymore. My money stays in my pocket now instead of yours. This is what happens when you are greedy and try to cheapen the quality of your product and you think people will not notice. you had a good reputation before this...but now i don't want to buy your product at all. protect against overbrushing is on r label...i feel it needs to corrected to use this to overbrush and damage your teeth with hard bristles.
Do not use this toothpaste – I have been having terribly dry lips and mouth and put it down to wearing a mask. But even without a mask my mouth was getting drier and my tongue feels rough to the point of thinking I had major health problems. Today after struggling to talk to people due to dryness and a terrible feeling of tastelessness on my tongue that I can’t improve with… Read more
food i suddenly connected my symptoms with a change to Rapid relief about 2 weeks ago. After searching the net I found others with these horrible side effects and sores etc. I’m so relieved it’s just the toothpaste but very angry my mouth and lips have been affected in this way. Do not use it. I’m hoping that stopping today will give me fast relief as these side effects are horrific and more needs to be done to alert people.
New formula - only contains stannous fluoride – Naughty, naughty, GlaxoSmithKline. You've quietly removed* the very effective strontium acetate of the Sensodyne Rapid Relief you initially advertised as being so amazing (remember those ads -- pain is gone in 60 seconds!) and replaced it with the less effective stannous fluoride. As in, what you find in all Oral B Pro Health variants, and which… Read more
only cost two dollars fifty every other week when they're on special.
I found a sample tube of the original Rapid Relief given to me a while ago by a dentist and rubbed it on my worst teeth, and it did work quickly and somehow made my nagging sinus headaches go away. Stopped using it to test, and the pain returned. Used again, pain went away. So, I went to Woolworths and bought a whole tube, only to find my tooth sensitivity was back with a vengeance. After checking the packaging I discovered that there was no strontium listed. I'm all for stannous fluoride (yes, in spite of the claims it can stain teeth), but not when you're charging four times for a product that Oral B does better, anyway.
Initially I wondered if GSK was going to focus on their Novamin (calcium sodium phosphosilicate) approach to remineralise teeth, but I just read that they don't even use that in the US products any longer. So, basically, they're too cheap to use things that work in a way that they advertise, and instead let us conveniently remember the 'sixty-second relief' campaign when it's really just a 'could work in three days now' trade off. For eleven bucks.
Had this been the original formula it would have been five stars (I would've forgiven the terrible taste). Now I'm giving a generous two as I prefer stannous fluoride to sodium fluoride in general and I haven't had any of the (admittedly weird) shedding I get with Oral B.
*Official GlaxoSmithKline Aus website still advertises the sodium fluoride/strontium acetate ingredients as of 12 Aug 2020. See <https://au.gsk.com/en-au/products/our-consumer-healthcare-products/oral-health/sensodyne/>
Shocking – My gums felt so very sore after using this. I’ve been using regular Sensodyne for years. I bought this as the variety I usually use was out of stock. This one is horrendous. I’ve now gone to Colgate. Will never use Sensodyne again Show details
What a backwards step – I'd been using Sensodyne for a few years. I had noticed Sensodyne Whitening powered by Novamin was no longer made in UK. Consistency of paste had changed considerably and no longer the same. Switched to Sensodyne Rapid Relief after being given a tube by my hygienist. I didn't realise initially that the toothpaste was the culprit, but my mouth was… Read more
sore, burning, dry cracked lips, sore gums, absolutely awfully terrible. I thought I had something wrong with me! I have stopped using the Sensodyne Rapid Relief and symptoms have gone. Never again will I use this toothpaste.
Terrible It caused me more pain – I used sensodyne for years as have very sensitive teeth - now with changed formula all the sensodyne sensitive teeth products cause me extreme pain when I use them - never again Show details
My teeth were still just as sensitive as they were before I used a whole tube – I Just didn't notice any difference after using the entire tube. There were no side effects, no effects at all. Advertising says you will feel a difference after 3 days. Show details
New formula not as good – I have been using Sensodyne Rapid ( with strontium) for years with great results. I have been using the new formula ( Stannous floride) since a few weeks ago and the teeth sensitivity is starting to reappear. I wish they had kept the old formula.
Sensodyne Rapid Relief - won't be using this again! – Started using Sensodyne Rapid Relief, morning & night, a few days ago (have used their Repair & Protect for years without any issues). Over a couple days I noticed that everything I drank tasted strange & that my food didn't have much taste/tasted odd. I stopped using it & within a day things tasted "normal" again. Will certainly be giving Rapid Relief a big miss!!! Show details
Bad toothpaste – I have always used this toothpaste with great results then about 6 months ago I purchased this new look and new formulation of sensodyne rapid relief and it is terrible, made my mouth so dry,did nothing for my sensitivity and gave me headaches,I cannot find the old formula anywhere sensodyne should have stuck to the old formula Show details
New formula does not work – The new formula does not work and is painful to use. They removed the strontium from the active ingredients list and replaced it with stannous fluoride. The new active ingredient does not work. Show details
Not good for sensitive teeth – This stuff tastes really nice but I was shocked when the pain started to kick in as I was brushing my teeth, I couldnt even finish the job it was urgent that I get toothpaste off my teeth and out of my mouth. Sensodyne implies it is good for sensitive teeth but it is nothing more than a selling ploy. Show details

Teeth pain gone – Can't remember when I first noticed, but have been using this for about 3 months or more and have not had the sudden sensitive pain across most of my teeth, for more than 2 months. I've tried other similar products but nothing as successful as this one. Great Product
New Rapid Relief stopped working – The new flovours of Rapid relief has stopped working. My sensitive tooth is back and I actually get a slight sting. Bought old one in Bali whilst on holidays a week as go and it's working again. Yet again a company playing around with a product that actually works.
Nice toothpaste – This is my first sensodyne toothpaste i tried. The toothpaste was pretty good in terms of sensitivity (improving slightly) and made my teeth feel clean after brushing with my electric toothbrush. I did however feel that the paste had a 'gritty texture' but thats not necessarily a bad thing.. Just something i wasn't expecting. Whitening properties and improved sensitivity Bit gritty
