Siemens iQ300 60cm Induction Cooktop EH675LDC1E

I love this cooktop. At the last house we installed a Bosch Series 6 freestanding induction cooktop /electric oven. New place had a gas stove and after replacing our HWS it was the only gas appliance left so it made sense to replace with induction, the oven needed replacing too. We live in a regional location so purchased online from Winnings Appliances. There was at least a 6 week wait (maybe a bit more) for the cooktop. The oven (from AEG is a whole different story! Delays with the oven meant we didn't actually install the cooktop until Jan 2026.

All that aside I'm very happy with my choice.

I love the slider controls and the fact there's 2 (with the Bosh there were so many times you had to press plus or minus, select the right hob etc especially when using more than one pot / pan). I figured having 3 hobs would be fine, I have a portable induction hob should I need a 4th but find that I don't have to use it at all.

Siemens was one that actually had a decent large coil size with an actual 32cm cooking zone as the largest one, (a lot go up to 25cm or 28cm), it can be hard to find these specs, you have to dig into the manuals. The 32cm suits the biggest pot / pan I use from time to time.

The only thing I'm not so sure about is the placement of the smallest hob to the back right hand side rather than the front right hand side, it kind of makes sense but sometimes I think it would be better if the smallest was at the back.

I purchased a new kettle to suit the new cooktop, it is super fast to boil on the boost function (hardly have enough time to prepare the cuppas) and it's a lot quieter than using a standard electric kettle.

The stove is also relatively quiet to operate in general (unlike my portable KMart induction cooktop, it was so loud I resorted to removing the beeper!). And even the fan on the IQ300 isn't very loud at all, but you can hear it run for a short while after switching off.

So far the cooktop has been easy to clean as well and I haven't noticed any scratches from my various pots and pans (some are blue steel and from being used on gas not 100% flat bottomed or spin around easily being so light but still seem to work perfectly fine).

Temperature control seems to work really well and doesn't seem to pulse much at all, only a bit sometimes when using at least 2 burners on high settings and generally the third as well, but it still seems to keep steady temps. Simmering a stew/soup in a big pot etc is no problem at all, nice steady simmer rate and I don't notice any pulsing at all (doing that on the kmart thingy is not easy as it's either pulsing on and off or more like boiling).

I'm definitely really happy with this purchase, and I reckon it's easier to use and better than the Bosch Series 6 freestanding induction cooktop oven I had. I was limited to the 60cm size with my purchase.

Not Happy Jan! – I was loving my brand new Siemens Induction Hob until it got a large burn hole on it after only about 3 weeks use! On talking to the Siemens, I was told this was not a manufacturing issue, and that I would have to pay to have the glass replaced. As this is a brand new appliance I am extremely unhappy with this as I would expect something like this to only happen after years of use. I am now going to have to pay over $600 to replace this. I would recommend that people be aware off the fragility of the glass when looking to buy an induction hob from Siemens.
