The touch panel failed 3 times - not recommended – The touch panel failed 3 times and was replaced each time. Luckily, the last time, it failed during the warranty period and I got a refund. Overall, the dishwasher was very quiet and pretty good, but the archilles heal is definitely the touch panel. Am now searching for a replacement, non-Siemens with proper buttons, and not touch panel (maybe a Miele). Show details
If you're thinking about an IQ700 - think again. This one was replaced by the IQ700 and only lasted 6 years – Firstly - when this machine is working, it's very good. Even Miele owners comment on how quiet it is, wash performance is superb, and drying performance is ok to good. The XXL tub and top cutlery tray means a 15 place setting will actually go in there. However about 2 years after we bought it, it started misbehaving. It would throw E21 errors… Read more
on a regular basis, then we organised a service call and they couldn't really identify the problem. 3 service calls later, it's had a new pump, new spray arms, and while the E21 error hasn't reappeared, it now dries very poorly on all cycles and water is left in the bottom of the machine at the end of the cycle.
The most recent service call couldn't resolve the problem.
Most importantly, BSH Australia were quick to understand the ACL expectations and all services and parts to date have been at their cost.
So here we are, a "sort of" working machine, however a soaked tea towel after putting away a full load just isn't that exciting in a 6 person household. We're looking at what our options are to get this replaced, especially since we have an 11 year old AEG dishwasher downstairs (back in full service!), and we sold our previous house with a healthy 12 year old Bosch dishwasher...

repairer looked at told me the and electronic board parts cost 1500 to replace more than machine .I might add this machine ha d filter cleaned once a week and arms fortnight. This machine did not get a lot of use because we travel in Aust quite a bit. Have already emailed Siemens/Bosch
Can't go past this if being QUIET is a priority – This semi-integrated tall-tub machine was installed in October 2011. It's currently a temporary installation thus there are gaps of 2 to 3 cm on either side of the machine, yet it is significantly quieter than our old Haier (so much so I have to check it's running sometimes). This will only get better when it has a snug fit inbetween the new… Read more · 2

Regarding the cleaning of dishes, it performs very well, however you do have to make sure the middle tray is set properly as it helps send the water to the top of the machine to the cutlery tray. Also, you need to be careful how to position cutlery in the tray in order to ensure a decent clean. This takes a little trial and error, but it is worthwhile. I have tried to search the Siemens website on tips for this, but without success - though now we've sorted it, I don't need to. Customer Service would have been my next step.
I really love the fact that the bottom basket is free of a cutlery basket, and I now even put pots in there. The tall-tub means I can have 27cm dinner plates in the bottom and champagne flutes in the middle basket at the same time. The controls on the top of the door are very tactile and easy to use, and I like having the display on the front so I know where it is in the cycle without having to open the door. Overall very pleased with this purchase and looking forward to years of use. Tall-tub that fits everything, VERY quiet, good water economy Occasional marks left on cutlery and glasses
