First Smeg purchase, never again – I bought the 50’s retro kettle and matching 4-slice toaster with a view to then buying a Smeg fridge if the first two products were ok. Fact is, I’m never buying Smeg again. It’s expensive crap. From its first use THE TOASTER THROWS THE TOAST ON THE FLOOR!! Now, the element has stopped working so one side of each slice is uncooked. The annoying kettle chimes don’t rate a mention compared to just how bad the toaster is. AVOID! Show details

Not what I expected – Stopped being able to toast to colour we liked ten months after buying no matter how high selector turned hit or miss affair burning one but leaving two hardly singed. Very dissatisfied to say the least. Show details

Terrible!!! – Always liked as Meg but could never afford the appliances. Saved up and bought the toaster and kettle. After minimal use the toaster stopped staying down on one side then only toasts on one side of the bread on the other section. Smeg have agreed to replace after 3 weeks but will take 5 weeks to replace!!! Not good enough and very disappointed, won’t ever be purchasing smeg again!! Show details

brioche/muffin/cafe bread or good homemade bread, where we all cut to our preference. What was quite pleasing too, is all elements fully are functional. We’ve had toasters where only part of the elements would provide a toasting effect, the Smeg rivalled them. The TSF03 does come in the 4 slice long, but we opted for the 50’s style. Yes, it may be expensive, but worth the price. I’m sure, we will get many years of great use. Easy to maintain, has usual defrost/warmer led buttons dial knob for toast level/punch button to cancel, easy push trays for crumbs to be cleared.

5 stars for looks only – I bought this toaster a month ago. Toaster looks great on my kitchen bench. Whilst toasting normal white bread surprised to see my toasts sitting on top of the toasters & on the floor. When I put on number 1 toast is almost cold, when I put to 1.5 it almost burnt. Good looking toaster – Cooks 4 slices at once toast does pop out on to the bench maybe because the product is new. Cooks thick slices and crumpets well. Fits hot cross buns and cooks them well. Have cooked rye bread and white bread all have turned out evenly cooked on both sides Show details ·  2
